  1. Anti-abortion activists have murdered abortion providers in churches, burned down abortion clinics, harassed and intimidated women for getting abortions, and bombed the fucking Olympics. Anyone complaining about pro-choice activists peacefully protesting in the street outside a justice’s home can get 100% fucked.

  6. It would be the most Dem shit ever to pass a law to beef up protection based on a fake right-wing story about Alito needing to be moved to an undisclosed location, indicating that they think pro-choice people are violent radicals and will gladly feed Republican propaganda about how radical their voters supposedly are, before they even tried to pass anything protecting abortion rights.

  8. Not sure if you were referring to my CR-ish thread bomb. But my point was actually not about crime rates or whatever. My point was I'm not sure I want my daughter to go to school where first trimester abortions are banned. I'm not so much worried about stranger danger rape (though the thought is of course terrifying). I am worried about the friend-zoned dweeb that takes advantage of too much alcohol, or "nice guy" who gets aggressive when she wants to stop at second base, or the creep boyfriend who stealths a condom. Those crimes are very rarely reported, but 100% something women have to consider. In Texas, sometime this summer HB 1280 will kick in. Abortions will be eliminated in Texas. Birth control is not perfect and for some women hormonal (or IUD) birth control just doesn't work or messes them up too much. It is possible that in 2023 the Texas Legislure will adopted further restrictions. I am not some super pro-choice advocate. I would probably be okay with a ~15 week window, if it included decent enough life of mother caveats. But HB 1280 has no such limitations. It's a full elimination of abortion in Texas and it is already law. Yes, I am sure Darrmouth or New Hampshire have plenty of date raping assholes. And that sucks. But - and this is critical for some of us thinking about college choice now or in the future - in August of 2022 in New Hamshire a woman who was raped can get an abortion. In August of 2022, a young woman raped at UT-Austin or Rice or whatever, cannot. This is a factor plenty of normal not-particularly woke gun owning people like me will consider. My daughter is still a few years from college choice. Fortunately she is smart enough that I bet some out of state college will offer scholarship money or at least an in-state tuition deal. Because I don't think I want her to go to college in Texas. And if she moves back after, that will be her adult choice. https://capitol.texas.gov/billlookup/History.aspx?LegSess=87R&Bill=HB1280 https://www.texastribune.org/2021/05/11/texas-legislature-abortion-roe-wade/

  9. How about this -- YES! The right to bear arms is a constitutional right, like the right to free speech, and the right to privacy. So, while it may be subject to some regulation (which they already are -- need a special permit to own a full auto firearm, time-place-manner restrictions on speech are allowed, as just quick examples), it remains in place, and provides an actual right to people. What you are looking at re abortion is as if there was a flat and complete BAN on all firearms, at all times. NOW maybe you can start to understand the issue. This is not a regulation of abortion, or even a limitation. What states -- and federal GOP leadership -- are doing right now is a complete and total ban. Not akin to regulating firearms by requiring an FFL for transfer, or special permits for full auto; rather, a full, complete, and total ban. And shit, look at where they're going on contraception. We're beyond an analogous ban on firearms, now the analogy goes to a ban on anything that can eventually be used as a weapon. So, YES, compare the court's repeal of the right to privacy to the right to keep and bear arms. NOW will you give a fuck?

  10. so, if say, a sitting president in this country was...say, recorded on a phone call...with the secretary of state of a swing state...say, one in the south like georgia...in which that president had just lost that state's electoral votes...trying to pressure that secretary of state to "find" additional votes for that president so that he would win instead of letting the electoral outcome prevail...and he nakedly engaged in that pressure campaign for corrupt purposes of overturning the results of an election in this country...you'd want that person to suffer the consequences, right? and you probably would not want that secretary of state's family to be relentlessly targeted, harassed, and threatened, correct? just out of curiosity.

  11. Interestingly, there’s a rumor in DC right now that Ginny Thomas leaked the opinion because of the concern that Kavanaugh was shaky and looking for a deal with Roberts to uphold the law while not overturning Roe. I don’t mean to be harsh or rude, but after 20 years of reading your posts on these boards I don’t believe you. I think you believe that, but after watching you tie yourself into knots to support your party time after time I don’t think that’s true.

Hackers replaced Russian TV schedules during Putin's 'Victory Day' parade with anti-war messages https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-victory-day-tv-broadcasts-hacked-anti-war-messages-2022-5 The message read, per the BBC's translation: "On your hands is the blood of thousands of Ukrainians and their hundreds of murdered children. TV and the authorities are lying. No to war."

  15. Here is what so many people don't get. Being pro-choice does not mean you are pro-abortion. It just means that the choice rests with the woman, her doctor, and anyone else she chooses to include in the process. Pro-choice is pro-woman. Trying to force your beliefs on others is as anti-American as you can get. If you support this bullshit that is happening now, you are a misogynist and anti-American. You can absolutely go fuck yourself.

  16. Quit posting dishonest, stupid shit and you probably won’t get so many negs. Also right now, there is a woman in Texas being forced to carry a fetus to term that was the product of rape. Actually, probably more than one. So fuck you and everyone like you that led to this.

  17. @Ag with kids, we know what you posted, and it was a bunch of drivel. You were stumbling all over your own fucking feet and trying to gaslight everyone. Twice on this thread, first by Johnny Sack of Shit and second by Ag with Kids (who did it via PM like the coward that he is), I have been told I need therapy or that I am sad and lonely. Let me disabuse you of that. I am not sad. I am not lonely. I am fucking incensed that a bunch of people have decided that I am not mentally fit enough to make my own fucking decisions about my body. We have a lot of men (and some women) in this country that want to return to a time when women were little more than property. They did not have jobs. They could not own property. They could not vote. Their job was to be at home and spit out babies until they fucking died (i.e. The Middle Ages). They want to go back to a time when educated women were denounced as witches. They also want to impose their religious beliefs on the population as a whole (See Bloody Mary, the Religious Wars in France, etc... if you want to understand what they want to do). It is like they forgot why people came to the New World in the first place (to escape religious persecution...remember that?!?). Everyone who supports the roll back of Roe v. Wade, and anyone that supports the bullshit that the GQP is doing, can just fuck right off. Misogyny should have no place on this board, and the shit I and other female posters have to put up with on this board at times is complete bullshit. I find it amusing that when we dare to challenge some of the men on this board, you immediately devolve to personal attacks, or even better, PMs. You are real heroes, you are. It just shows how much you are obviously compensating for a very small penis.

  24. In the commotion that ensued, she decided the men needed to go to the hospital in Bakhmut, a community about an hour's drive away. One of the injured men had a car that could get them there, but given the fierce fighting nearby, no one wanted to drive. So Chernichenko took the wheel. 15 year old girl

  25. Three years ago yesterday, I was completely and utterly broken. I was loading up in my car in Atlanta for a drive I didn't want to make to some place near Nashville. Driving along the winding river road (curiously named River Road) I thought about swerving off the road so I wouldn't have to go that day. When I drove under the arches that led to the treatment center, I felt a release I couldn't describe. I now know that was what surrender felt like. I was still scared and wasn't sure I wanted to live, but I was done fighting. It can be done. Surrender is not to be confused with giving up. For me, it was much more a process of opening up. As John Clark says at the end of his brilliant podcast, Forest Fires, "Stay Reachable, Stay Teachable, and Stay Humble". I would also add, "Stay Connected". I love you guys. Let's keep doing this.

  27. Only one side is trying to outlaw condoms. Only one side is trying to make aborting an embryo murder. Most abortions happen because of lack of access to or failure of birth control methods. When one side is actively trying to outlaw birth control one cannot engage in a serious debate about abortion with that side

  29. Just picked this up. 2021 CT5. It was in the showroom with 14 miles on it. Premium Luxury Edition, with the Technology package, and the V6 twin turbo engine, same engine as the V series so it moves. I went in looking to get the V series, but this was the best of both worlds.

  31. We don’t discuss abortion in my classes, even though I always let my students know this is a college classroom and most topics are on the table as they relate to various parts of Communication. When we discuss Persuasive Speaking techniques, we talk about how giving examples of things that are not mutually exclusive can be a good persuasive technique. Students often ask for examples and my go-to examples are 1.) you can be pro-BLM and pro-police, 2.) you can be pro-2nd amendment and still be pro-gun reform. Then my 3rd example is “you can be pro-choice but still be against abortion.” Students get baffled and ask how and I say “being pro-choice doesn’t mean you’re pro-abortion rather it can mean you are pro-choice for a woman to decide what to do with her body.” I then tell them of some friends I have to are pro-choice but anti-abortion noting my friends have said they themselves would never get an abortion but they are 100% for a woman deciding what to do with her own body and not the government.
