This is a horror show of a recruiting run. It would be like us jerking it to the time Tom Herman got BJ Foster to commit. Let's go back and celebrate the Bru McCoy recruitment while we're at it! Let's dig through the smoldering ashes of the bags they dropped: Bobby Brown was a really good player for A&M who made the NFL as a 4th round pick. He also got suspended for PEDs last season. Leon embodied the Aggie spirit in almost every hilarious and stereotypical way possible. Vernon Jackson had a career ending neck injury but apparently wasn't hurt enough to stop him from choking his girlfriend out and slamming her head into the floor. Jashaun Corbin did jack shit at A&M, then transferred back home to Florida State to become a decent player. He's on the Giants practice squad. The heir apparent at QB, James Foster transferred during the covid year to Charlotte and is a backup there. Four star Jeremiah Martin had a very meh 11 tackles in 32 career games for A&M. He then transferred to Washington where he magically became team captain and first team all Pac-12 with 41 tackles, 11 being for a loss, eight and a half sacks, and two forced fumbles. He's an UDFA on the Browns. Charles Strong drove Texas football into a ditch transferred to Troy after a redshirt season and didn't do shit. Tank Jenkins was another four star who did jack shit at A&M and then transferred to Cougar High where he's a backup guard. Glenn Beal transferred to Louisiana and fell off the face of the earth. #neverforget

  14. What makes this extremely annoying is the long running refrain of not enough 155 shells. We had 1 million of them (albeit cluster) sitting in warehouses, waiting to be eventually destroyed. I understand the consequences to civilians from unexploded cluster ordinance, but I would rather side with Ukrainian de-mining risk than with the possibility of Russians destroying my entire civilization in a genocide. It is not even a serious choice when the survival of your country is compared to a β€œdown side” of cleaning up after your country, in fact, survives.

Like literally. He even asked "what was that one website, with the MS Paint drawings and Thujone?" Weird to hear Thujone referenced on a national CFB podcast.

  23. Real happy to see cluster munitions coming. I just have not understood the hesitancy at all. We aren’t party to the international agreement not to use them. And the whole argument by humanitarian groups that they are dangerous to civilians rings entirely hollow to me in this situation. Using them while invading another country is one thing, as you’re creating a dangerous situation in somebody else’s future territory (like when we used them in the Middle East or when Russia uses them in Ukraine). But it’s an entirely different thing imo when it’s Ukraine using them on its own territory. They aren’t going to be using them near their own civilians. They are using them to kick the enemy out, and it will be their own responsibility to clean up afterwards. It should not be anybody else’s business what they choose to do to their own territory when it has zero impact on anyone else’s (as opposed to them using something like a nuke on their own territory that COULD affect someone beyond their borders). It’s a localized weapon that is perfectly suited to their situation. If they want them, I frankly find it disgusting that we haven’t provided them sooner. Especially since Russia is already using them all over Ukraine, and I guarantee those Russian munitions have a much higher failure rate than ours. So the biggest argument against providing them is moot. But as with everything else in this war, better late than never!

  27. As for "technical reasons" why twitter is declining (and I am looking for an alternative). The promoted ads, every 4 or 5 tweets, by absolute bottom bin unappealing companies, are outrageous. I just scrolled thru the app, 4 ads in 20 tweets, some candle company you can add a picture of your cat, some weird mattress company, some Automotive company that offers "appearance protection" for your car, and some activewear company I've never heard of. It is fucking ridiculous how many promoted ads there are, it is fully 1/5 of the platform/experience now. Which of course is Elon's fault for running off the big advertisers, by being a piece of shit, now he has to take on these tiny companies with little ad budget. Then there is the whole buy a blue checkmark. Now Elon's "town square" is basically Texags or SECRant's political board. Click on any topic and boom, you are overrun by boosted accounts that are screaming about absolute BS. It is as much a town square as Elon is sane. It is awful. And Elon is actively encouraging that (for $8 a month). Then there are the bots. EVERY SINGLE post from any account with more than say 10K followers, is littered with these gambling and porn bots.   33. Outside of this discussion, I don't care if you are interested in accurately labelling nazis and insurrectionists. I suppose it is informative generally for how to understand your perspective as a person whose posts I see on this website. There's also a difference in comprehensively categorizing what it is that society finds intolerable and individually categorizing "traitor" and "nazi" as intolerable. If you order an apple pie in my restaurant and I give you a plate with a turd on it and you leave the restaurant, you didn't leave because we had a disagreement about apple pies. It would be either dishonest or stupid to describe it in that way, which is what you are attempting to do with verification. Verification served a purpose, it was central to how Twitter is used, "verifying" anyone who pays whatever the fee is for a blue check is not verification (it is a little turd on a plate). It's not a disagreement about checks, it is a degradation of the platform. As are the other changes that we've talked about. If you're engaging honestly here it seems like you don't understand how verification and amplification are important on Twitter - again if you have a static and established follower list and you only read posts from those people, I suppose it makes sense. Actually, I do remember one exchange in some dumb thread forever ago which may have been from you where I was accused of dismissing information without reading it because of its source (in that instance, The Epoch Times). If that was you, it kinda clicks a little bit for me.
