  1. Yeah, the toothless former detective said point blank that Polanco could get people to confess to things when they weren't even there. And the other detectives knew that he was getting bogus confessions from suspects. Being the principled public servants they immediately spoke up and told their superiors and said "no, you've got the wrong guy here. Polanco beat a confession out of the dude. He's innocent. We need to go back and investigate further to make sure we catch the real killer!" Right?
  2. As far as the series goes so far, Margaret Brown isn't exactly showing herself to be a world-class documentarian. Part of that may be due to the footage sourced from so many different providers and other filmmakers, but she's meandering all over the place and not doing a good job clearly tracking the key dates & players along the way. And Austin and APD is looking really backwoods so far. The interrogation footage in the next episodes is gonna be the red meat.
  3. Yeah and as usual he's totally lying about the facts. Stallone ALWAYS planned on playing Rocky. He shopped it that way to every studio. They wanted to buy it outright & use another actor, but he refused to sell unless he was guaranteed the part. But dotard always thinks his story is the most entertaining story so fuck the truth.
  4. To each their own, but that watch reminds me of a prop on MST 3K.
  5. And that Easter egg is a perfect encapsulation of the Wire's brilliance.
  6. If we make it through November it will be a significant accomplishment.
  7. So only one kid dead vs dozens in Uvalde? See how much better things are under Trump's strong leadership? -- Greg Abbott
  8. I think that scene w/ Rawls in the gay bar was also to let the viewer know that he was always hiding something. Personally. Professionally. He was always working an angle. The cops all seemed to accept him as a hard ass whose job was to deliver the numbers. He was scheming & even devious, but he didn't have political suction due to being a white cop in Baltimore. Everyone hated him so the odds of him ever being found in the gay bar were slim. And there was a definite undertone of homophobic cops. Kima was the only openly gay cop that I recall.
  9. Does inertia wear off? Has this scientific discovery been published?
  10. Destroying the global economy & American capitalism to own the libs!
  11. Cut @Elvis some slack. He's trying to build an OF following for his wife's store bought assets. He's trying to spread her brand on another section of the board. Pimpin' ain't hard but it's necessary.
  12. So are the Nike Zero Week shoes just these Pegasus 45s or is something else coming?
  13. Joey Mugshot is coaching for his job this year. Anything less than a conference championship appearance & he'll be run out of town. Then they've got the choice to make: splash hire reclamation coach or an up & comer they hope will bring them attention & wins? I'm sure they'll find a way to cock it up regardless.
  14. Soto is ridiculously excellent sushi tucked between a Dollar Tree and a Tarka restaurant. And don't sleep on Cedro's Scratch Italian. And fuck the haters. Westwood class of '88.
  15. Just looked up Leo's recent slate on IMDB. A few things stand out: * He's only starred in 4 movies in the decade since he won his Oscar (Revenant, Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood, Don't Look Up, and Killer's of the Flower Moon). He's starring in Paul Thomas Anderson's 'One Battle After Another' that you can bet will garner all kinds of Oscar attention later this year. * His "in production" roles he's listed as playing include Jim Jones, Evel Knievel, Frank Sinatra and Teddy Roosevelt. And as crazy and diverse as that list is I can honestly look at it and say "yep, he could pull that off." Cruise and Leo are about the only two names that open up every production company's checkbook. If Leo says "yeah, I really want to star in Heat 2" it will get made.
  16. The Coaches' Poll has been out 18+ hours and Graham hasn't posted a screed yet bitching that Texas is too ranked too high and aggy is being disrespected. Dude's slipping.
  17. "Jobs numbers are in the shitter? Well then fire the person reporting the data and tell everyone to listen to me and not to believe their own lying eyes! Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
  18. Raging Mexicans who were shuttled across the border via a smuggling network created by Obama and Biden and funded by Soros are going to break into the jail and murder her. Dotard will then call for the arrest of his political enemies and invasion of Mexico.
  19. He's doing the only thing inconsequential lovers can do: attempt to buy immortality. Nothing will ever be truly named after him as a way to honor & remember his contributions. But he figures he can pay to have his name added to the White House.
  20. $2mm a piece for basically a ten year break ain't shabby. Max did great w/ the Conan gig. I think he also went back to law school & did quite well w/ property development. The Professor co-produced the immaculate Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. Lu's best work IMO. Clarence & Nils were regulars in Ringo's All-Starr Band. The Big Man was apparently the most pissed off about the "firing" because hey, where else is a sax sideman gonna make as much as Bruce's sideman? I think Danny was just working on sobering up. Garry opened a recording studio in Nashville. So they lived their dream of waiting for the call that brought them millions more circa 1998.
  21. Is there anything more complex than band dynamics? Especially when you have a solo artist like Joel who's been backed up by essentially his pals from a neighborhood bar band his entire career. After a solid decade of "holy shit, can you believe how lucky we are" there's bound to be those feelings of "hey, we've been here from the beginning & we play with a FEEL no hired gun can match" that leads to bitterness when the artist does just that. Add to that the complexity of writing the checks your friends & their families depend on and, well..lots of stress.
  22. A hard life on the road trying to eat sandwiches where the deli meat is bigger than the bread has taken its toll, man.
  23. And there you have it. The most entitled generation on full display. "Give me everything that I want/need, and fuck everyone else."
  24. I kinda felt like the 2nd part was a bit rushed on the first viewing. Christie having to point out to him how his manager was screwing him was something. He's basically been his own cover band for the past 30 years. People want the hits & he can still deliver 'em. He doesn't need to write anything new, I suppose. I'm a little disappointed they didn't spend any time on his boating line or custom motorcycle shop. I enjoy seeing the other creative outlets of artists & their other passions.

    Vinyl

Stunned to find this gem at the Anderson Mill HPB for six bucks. The LP was loose inside the jacket w/o a sleeve but cleaned up to VG. I spent ten bucks total on this and Charlie Rich's Behind Closed Doors while Mrs GOTJ dropped $150 on Taylor Swift vinyl. Can't complain because the more she gets into it the easier it will be for me to upgrade my TT from a Pro-Ject Essential II.
