Need help finding an Americana/folk song that came out last yr, gal with a good voice singing about loving Texas but heart belongs in Colorado and wanting to be buried there under a tree. It got some solid airplay on Americana stations.

Damn, they played that all last summer on the Ranch.  She was a new artist I had never heard of.   Still looking.

To be fair, my opinions on music are pretty terrible.

Ha.   People say that about me all of the time.

His various albums have racked up some 40 million sales, according to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Keith also notched over 10 billion streams of his song catalog. Overall, he released 21 studio albums and 69 singles, 20 of which reached No. 1 on Billboard's country charts.

You may not like him, but pretty much anyone unbiased would call him a legend.  The few military people I know certainly would.

    RIP

I get it.  I really do.  He sold a lot of records.  I was actually surprised to see that he was in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.   Truly, good for him.  Songwriting is hard work and what he set up with Big Machine is outstanding.     I just think the term of 'legend' is a bit much in his case.  To me, record sales isn't measuring stick.  He sold more than probably John Prine, Kris Kristofferson & Emmylou collectively.   Those seem like (to me at least) people that are in the legend category.

I follow him for his recovery even more than his music.
Who was that presenter, and how does she feel about balding midwestern ranchers?

Also why I was hoping they would record that MusiCares night at the Troubadour.  MusiCares is paid for by the Grammy's and it takes place at the same rehab where Isbell went.  It's a really great thing they do and it doesn't get enough press.  They guy who runs the program at that treatment center is a very talented dude and a great guy.

  6. Hell.  She played at Woodstock.  Early on, people were lumping her into the Joni Mitchell track.  Had a couple of borderline hits that got critics talking....then Brand New Key came out and all that critical praise went away.   Bob Lefsetz had a long article about her recently.  I kind of liked this song.

She wrote this one after Woodstock.  The person before her at passed out candles to the crowd.

That song came up on my Spotify a while back and I keep going back to it. It’s a jam. I had forgotten about Ted Leo, I loved this song  20 years ago

Have you heard Ted's album with Aimee Mann?

My definition of a refrigerator vegtable drawer: A place to refrigerate your vegetables prior to eating them in a few days or so.

My wife's definition of a refrigerator vegtable drawer: A place to refrigerate your vegetables for weeks on  end until they go bad and rot all over the other vegetables which have not yet gone bad unless my husband cooks or eats them before then.  Also a place that my husband cleans out because I think it's too gross.

On of my wife's favorite things to do is go to the farmer's market....to buy buy vegetables....face palm.

In my house, the vegetable drawer is just a staging station for the compost piles.   I probably have the most expensive compost in the county.

To bring this thread back on topic:

I have busted my rear completely redoing our fireplace mantle, tile and the whole wall it's on.  It looked great (see woodworking thread in hobbies).

part of the reason for doing it is that my wife, for the second time, ran the fireplace full blast with the damper closed.  Soot all over it.  I was going to have to repaint it again and we wanted something different anyway.

We're on about a week since I rebuilt it and it was completely done.

Guess what happened on Friday night when she was drunk??  Well yeah, obviously we had sex.  But guess what else??

Thanks for trying to get this back on topic @uoftorange.  And strong effort by wife.  VERY strong.   For the rest of you motherfuckers.  FOCUS.  We don't need advise from Dr. Phil or Dr. Ruth....we just need to wallow in each others pain.  Now, back on track me homies.
