  1. They see Powell as similar to BJ Foster.
  2. i dont disagree with you. my point was that Texans are better in real life than they vote. i have been at a legal conference all week so im getting a little restless...
  3. you know thats not true. they just arent being honest about why they are voting republican be it closeted racism or putting saving taxes over Texas, whatever the reason. if more people would vote like they live their lives, we would be in a much better place. in real life, if you lie to someone's face, especially a Texan, they will call you out on it. but fuck no at the ballot box if there is money involved, or there is a chance to hold the brown man down or let's pretend like we care about saving babies by stating that abstinence is actually something that works. Most Texans would kick the shit out of Ted the Canadian Cruz if he tried to pull this bullshit to their faces.
  4. fuckin A bubba!
  5. i am hoping for the opposite but im not overly optimistic.
  6. What ^ he said.
  7. I believe he voted against a measure that was opposed to the levy but did not vote for the levy itself. He stated he wanted to keep all options open. So no, I dont think Beto voted for a levy at all.
  8. Interesting. But I think the calculus changes when you are a Senator vs Rep. In one position, you are representing all of Texas and the other, your specific region. I believe Beto has shown a willingness to reach across the aisle and work with both sides to advance legislation that is good for Texas. I believe you will see even more of that when he is a Senator.
  9. Did you read the article? Because it does not sound like a net negative for energy to me at all.
  10. I disagree. I think Beto is committed to working with both sides on issues that matter for Texas. I dont believe he would work with Schumer on something bad for Texans. I also believe he would work with McConnell on things that are good for Texans. He is about moving Texas and Texans forward, not playing partisan politics. There is a place for all in Beto's Texas.
  11. i get it most of the time. but when it comes to murder? i don't get it at all.
  12. our morality or our money? hmmmmm which one is our beloved President going to choose?
  13. i would think Republicans would jump at the chance to vote for the guy who has been extremely successful in business as the guy who would help the Texas business community more than a career political hack who is a lawyer to boot! Clearly the Texas business guy is better for the energy industry than the ambulance chasing parasite.
  14. The Canadian Cuban of European Descent? Gotcha. Why didnt you just say that you were voting for the Canadian? Its much easier.
  15. I havent had a landline in 10 years. Do they even still make them for houses? I have built three homes in that time and have not had a landline ran to the house.
  16. How is Ted stronger on energy?
  17. Its funny because I dont know a single person who thinks immigration is a problem in Texas and I travel in fairly conservative circles. We dont have a fucking immigration problem in Texas. We wouldnt be here without Mexico. We wouldnt have the strong economy we have without Mexico. We need to partner with Mexico, not put up stupid walls that make both of us weaker. I am going to laugh my ass off if half this shit is pushed through when all the home prices double due to the immigration reform and tariffs. And the housing market crashes. But by GOD there will be white workers waiting for work when the market comes back and no one can afford to build anymore. We have an absolute IDIOT leading on these two issues without any cause or concern over the real world implications. He thinks the US is making billions on tariffs... fucking clueless....
  18. Thank God for Gorsuch? Kavanaugh is a political hack. He is not a conservative justice who wants small government with limited powers. He is a judicial activist who will seek to interpret and infer based on his political beliefs and desired goals. He is the worst kind of jurist. There is no way an "originalist" or "textualist" can look at that statute and honestly believe that "when released" means anytime after they have been released or served their time, whether it be in close proximity or 50 years after. That people who have paid their debt to society can be detained no matter how long after and can be detained WITHOUT BAIL. Of course, he is interpreting all of this with illegal brown people in his head. i look forward to this being applied to every European immigrant, legal or not, that has ever been arrested for a crime, no matter how small. Let's round em all up and detain them indefinitely without bail because 'MERICA! and lib tears! pathetic. Kavanaugh is going to force Gorsuch and Roberts to the left just to make sure the Supreme Court doesnt become some political hack tool.
  19. thx for the background. i checked with a few people and they really like Powell.
  20. Who is the Midlothian kid? Nm. Thx Machinator
  21. His parents, like most, want what is best for Garrett. But if they had their preference it would be for Garrett to play at Texas. They fully support him playing at OSU but closer is closer. I don't think it happens but Texas is at least giving itself a chance. It also doesn't hurt that Coach Stein brought Texas's offense to LT this season as the new OC. A lot of people have pointed out to Garrett that the success he is having in this offense with Card throwing to him could very well be replicated at the next level. My call: Wilson to OSU.
  22. I don't know why you wouldn't want to get this vaccine for your kids. It has nothing to do with current sexual activity and everything to do with preventing cancer.
  23. im good. we found one. thx PM
  24. i have always heard peter is more comparable to ossai.
