Definitely not as steep a drop off as the ramp at Mansfield dam

In the Spring of 1962 I dropped my set of car/house keys about 25 yards out & to the left a bit from Walsh boat ramp. The next winter when Lake Austin was lowered, I trudged around in the mud looking for them unsuccessfully. Would've called the metal detector guy from Sh***y (Neptune?) to help search, but he probably hadn't been born yet.

I attended the 69 game in Fayettenam.  Got two tix from a classmate in physics. I had no date and no time to get one so me and my roomie drove from about 3pm to the middle of the night on the most treacherous fucking roads I have ever been on.  The people were horrible, the weather was horrible, and the drive back was horrible.  But I'd do it all again right now.  15-14!

My brother drove up for that game. On the way back home he tried to fill up his VW, but not one station in Arkansaws would sell him any gas. He barely made it across the state line to fill it up. Toothless grandma hawg fans everywhere flipping the bird at his Texas plates.

DKR wasn't joking when he said it was like parachuting into Russia.

  4. See my edit.

As a kid interested in home design growing up in the 1950s, FLW was one of my "heroes". The California architect Cliff May was another.

My friends thought that was kinda odd, as the baseball & football jocks of the day didn't interest me. I was really saddened when Wright passed away.

When we drove out for the Fiesta Bowl 10 years ago, my only sightseeing interest was to visit Taliesin West.

  5. Falling Water had fallen into a state of disrepair and had o be restored a few years back.

Saw an episode of Island Hunters on HGTV that featured a  newly constructed FLW design on a heart shaped island north of NYC. Seems a fellow bought the island which only had a small FL house on it, but came with a set of plans for a larger home designed by FLW around a particular rock outcrop a few years before he died. The new house was never built until the last owner purchased the property in 1996. It turned out quite well, being built exactly on the spot where Wright wanted it.

  6. Singing Happy Birthday very subdued along with my two little grandsons (age 10 & 3) & family before we cut my DIL's birthday cake - about two hours after she had passed away in hospice care. It was the morning of her 39th birthday.

It cuts to the gut every time I think about that saddest scene in my life (like right now), and even worse when looking at the photo I took of the boys sitting forlornly by her cake.

Born in Mexico is a Mexican.

So all the Texans & Tejanos born in the state after the Spaniards settled here up until March 2nd, 1836 are to be considered Mexicans?
