  1. Think it's going to be a monumental recruiting weekend for the Spring Game.
  2. Add to his reluctance to lead receivers through their routes with good anticipation, the dude just doesn't have any pocket awareness or escapability.
  3. This is totally fair. Shaggy did predict 6 wins the last two seasons on the recruiting boards. But the effects of recruiting classes are felt on the field at least a couple years after signing day. Sumlin's 2015 and 2016 classes will prominently figure into Jimbo's W/L this year, and they leave something to be desired.
  4. The movie, as well as Cormac's source novel, inverts all of the Western tropes (bad guy gets his, good guy gets girl, rides off into sunset, etc). The third act is just one inversion after another: bad guy gets away, wife gets killed, hero leaves wife out of greed, sheriff figure doesn't catch bad guy.
  5. Here's what you have to remember: even a 6-6 record, with losses to arky Chad (they're due) and one of the SC/MissSt, will have terrible optics after Sumlin consistently eeked out 8 win seasons. Couple that with an 8-9 win season in Austin, and the early signing period should be fun.
  6. Can't understate how important it is for Herman to be 2-0 heading into USC rolling into DKR. Should be a huge opportunity for the national perception of Herman and Texas.
  7. Definitely look into the online offerings like Tuft & Needle, Casper, etc. We have a Tuft & Needle in our guest room and friends love it. Ironclad return policy.
  8. Game-day atmosphere won't change overnight to be more fan/tradition-friendly, but I have faith in Del Conte to really act on fan feedback to improve the experience.
  9. Adding another DB in the Dime/Lightning packages would include... Josh Thompson? Seems like he's ready to ball out this year. Ready for Overshown to be that lightning package tweener in a year or so.
  10. QB: Ehlinger RB: Young, with Carter splitting carries OL: Anderson, Vahe, Shack, Rodriquez, Kerstetter *shrugs* WR: Johnson, LJH, Duvernay TE: Brewer (if healthy) DL: Hager, Nelson, Charles O (+Graham) LB: Roach, Hater of QBs/RBs, McCulloch DB: Davis, Boyd, Locke, Bonney, Jones Those DB youngins will see plenty of playing time as the season progresses, especially Caden Sterns
  11. Just have that feeling we hear about a secret Richardson visit the Sunday after it happens this fall after the season starts gaining clarity. I like our chances with Naviar.
  12. Night and day from previous tenures. Herman is exploiting every advantage UT and Austin provide. It's really something to behold. Now go win.
  13. We say it every damn year, but this year is *especially* critical to win 9+ and be in conference contention. With Riley at OU, Jimbo at aggy, a flailing O at LSU, a weak Big12 relative to last season, a huge DKR showcase against USC, and a intense focus on Year 2 of Herman's tenure, this year on the field could be the impetus to building a true playoff contender for the next decade. hyperbole.gif
  14. Soviet-era Brutalism making a comeback. It’s lit at The Station! 🔥🔥🔥
  15. Good stuff, ctj, per usual. Thanks for taking the time, yada yada, etc.
  16. It's why it's hard to quantify "great" films since 2000 in the vein of big 90s period pieces like Schindler's List or Saving Private Ryan or Shawshank, when so many are intentionally smaller in scope character pieces. Movies I thought were tremendous but smaller in scope like The Florida Project, Wind River, Take Shelter, Frances Ha, Y Tu Mama Tambien. Intense character study films have had a great post-2000s run.
  17. Jimbo salary eating into the graphics dept budget. No, but really...
