  1. Is it wrong that I first read that as "Lame Bevo"?
  2. Not the first company whose name had an unfortunate collision with world events.
  3. Well, their platform is not all bad. I'll give them that.
  4. This stuff was more enjoyable to watch the 4th of July fireworks I witnessed a few days ago.
  5. Where would this boat dock? Go into port at any state on the Gulf of Mexico and I suspect everything will be seized and people arrested. Just seems easier to travel to a friendly state/nation for a procedure where the operating room is not rocking.
  6. For some, yes. For many others...
  7. Yeah, but what's the weight of the bullet and muzzle velocity, exactly? Details matter. <Ducks>
  8. A US tourist in Malta faces a similar (same? not sure, I'm not a doctor) dilemma right now. Strict abortion laws in Malta prevent doctors from "completing" her miscarriage in order to save her life. https://www.insider.com/american-tourist-malta-denied-life-saving-abortion-illegal-2022-6 This nightmare scenario will become more common in the US.
  9. Fuck off Hawley! You were OK with it when trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.
  10. Oh Gawd. If he gets rolling as a starter is some Musberger-type going to call him the ARCHitect of the Texas offense?
  11. If you're a fan of Freakanomics you may recall Levitt's paper about abortion access and the tie in with falling rates of violent crime in the 1990's. https://pricetheory.uchicago.edu/levitt/Papers/DonohueLevittTheImpactOfLegalized2001.pdf We'll all need more concealed weapons to protect ourselves in about 20 years. 'merica!
  12. Some Satanic churches need to set up schools pronto. Let's see what they think about that.
  13. I have no idea how NATO would handle such a scenario. Does Article 5 even apply if a NATO member attacks another country (Russia in this case) first and then Russia retaliates?
  14. Get off my lawn out of my ocean.
  15. UT has taken enforcement action before: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/education/sdut-vista-texas-longhorn-logo-2014sep05-story.html https://www.filewrapper.com/university-of-texas-sues-over-use-of-sawed-off-horns-logo/ https://www.texastribune.org/2016/08/01/mississippi-high-school-lose-longhorn-logo-keep-ag/ https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/08/12/payson-receives-cease-desist-letter-texas-over-longhorn-logo/1993095001/
  16. Time for a copyright infringement lawsuit?
  17. Trees kill some people. Just not the right ones.
  18. Is the filibuster actually anonymous? If true, fuck that shit. Make them own it. I do see the advantage of the fake filibuster in the sense that other business in the Senate can move forward. However, in this current political climate that's somewhat questionable anyway. If we won't get rid of the filibuster then maybe we should return to its original form. Make the fuckers own it and parade them in front of the nation showing them gumming up the works. And for what?
  19. We ran into a restaurant owner in rural California who sang Texas' praises when he found out we had lived there in the past. He expressed a desire to move there one day. In a restaurant covered in God and Jesus references and knick knacks his highest praise was that Texas knew how to execute people. You know, just like Jesus stated in his sermon on the mount. If he fits the average pattern of migrants into the state then Texas is indeed fucked.
