  1. In previous years I'd actually care. But if my own team doesn't, should I?
  2. This is a level of ineptitude that deserves no ticket sales. At least, not to those pulling for the home team.
  3. So 2050 is the year?
  4. We're a decent but injured team playing poorly for long stretches. The weakness of the West has disguised how feeble we really are. Suddenly going on a hot streak and playing deep into October might seem doable because the franchise has done it before, but objectively it's a pipe dream. We're a shell of recent Astros teams. There's just not enough hitting or managerial magic to get it done. Please prove me wrong, team.
  5. I AM a manager talk kinda guy, and I agree. Espada is an idiot.
  6. Nobody wants him to get injured. But we were dependent on the health of Eric Metcalf, Nate Vasher and Johnnie Johnson to a far greater degree, and they all were game-changing PRs for us. I think Littleton can be, too. Against these tough defenses we need to make something positive out of every chance, and I believe he has a way higher ceiling there than Niblett does. Your mileage of course may vary.
  7. I also want Littleton returning punts. Niblett might not have had much room to operate against OSU, but he gave up a ton of extra punt yardage by not at least catching the ball. Let's get that part squared away before more real games arrive.
  8. Would be an improved % over what we've been doing post-ASG. But should be doable, especially with us now have some guys back. Here's to Seattle losing today to give us a little nudge.
  9. It's a Labor Day miracle. Bring on the Bombers before we cool off again.
  10. I was hoping for a Dubon bunt there to at least give Pena a shot. But I knew better.
  11. Correa still watches a lot of strikes.
  12. I can understand an insufferable egomaniac like Tom Herman continuing to go to a dry well to prove he really knows what he's doing. But this Texas team and fans should expect better of Sark. And I say that as a big fan of him as our HC.
  13. Other than flush the coaching lines, I don't know. Root for Seattle and Arlington to keep sucking, too, but that isn't making our team any better.
  14. I'm going to enjoy seeing Utah wreck shop against Tech and others in the B12. Physical, quick and well coached, per usual. The Utes got very little resistance from Nico or the Bruins D.
  15. He's not the only one.
  16. Even if we score 27 runs in what's left of this game, I'd fire the hitting coach yesterday.
  17. We're just good enough to camouflage how bad we are.
  18. On the positive side, we've stopped stranding runners.
  19. We're a blistering 2-for-18 in the series with RISP. Not sure how anyone might improve on such a torrid pace, but let's give it a try.
  20. One team playing strong D and puny O today had to win it. Whoever lost would be left to legitimately play "what if." If we'd won, they'd have lamented their dropped INT and late holding call. Instead, the hard look in the mirror belongs to us. I'm just glad we actually made a game of it late.
  21. True. Then again, if we don't grab facemasks twice in key situations, we likely win.
  22. Despite the consistent lack of pressure on Sayin, our D was legit. Today was a major test, and they clearly passed it. How many yards did Niblett cost us today? In a tight game, more than I'd have liked. Put Littleton (eventually maybe Jonah) back there and turn a weakness into a strength.
  23. A turnover would be beneficial.
  24. Don't mind Arch getting rid of it. Maybe the biggest threat to our season is him getting hurt. Happy to minimize that risk to the extent we reasonably can.
