  1. Middle relief is not a strength. Not too much is, really.
  2. Nice AI synopsis, bot. Too bad it doesn't remotely resemble anything we've been seeing with our own eyes.
  3. Could be wrong, but I don't think solo homers and scattered non-RISP singles are going to win a World Series.
  4. Right now it's looking like we might finish it on a Bert Auburn kick.
  5. Why are we failing to mash the ball against this stiff? I know he pitches a lot in thin air, but his stats wouldn't be great for a slow-pitch softballer. Somebody start raking.
  6. Solid take. Although Nick Kurtz also might like to enter the chat.
  7. Never in my 57 years of watching Astros baseball have I had less faith in two starters widely regarded as elite. I have no idea how Brown or Valdez will perform in any given start against any lineup, and that really stretches the definition of "ace." But hey, just four days to football....
  8. Sponsor link to UT is a plus? Cool. Start the countdown to a press release about renaming said AD Chris "Dell" Conte.
  9. Exit velo reminds me a lot of Dubie. Were Dubie hitting a driver and a Titleist.
  10. I follow sports strictly for fun. Not a gambler or someone looking for sports minutiae to dazzle the babes on trivia night. I don't know this guy from Adam's housecat, but he doesn't sound like fun. So I'm out.
  11. McCormick has done it. He's made me a fan of Jake Meyers. Shocking but true.
  12. Awesome work by Blubaugh, just when needed.
  13. With this team, I'm afraid all innings from here on out are a concern.
  14. Clearly a much better batting eye at Camden. Need to replicate.
  15. But no matter the jersey du jour, orange bills from here on out. That winning pattern is clear...which probably means we'll not see them again.
  16. What a relaxing evening. We should win by blowout more often.
  17. Dubomb is officially our August highlight. Good for that guy making something positive happen. Of course, the way it's going, I'm surprised he didn't tear an ACL rounding third.
  18. How might one tell?
  19. Even the sunshine pumpers are starting to spew raw sewage. And I'm thinking rightly so. Because if the team has capitulated, can a mass fan exodus be far off? Hurry, football.
  20. So this is why Urias isn't starting today. Makes perfect sense.
  21. It's actually fascinating to see how poorly they can execute and yet somehow remain in contention. Although that says much more about the division than about the Astros. I guess a fan could be encouraged that the team at least tends to be competitive against elite squads. (No, I didn't mean "other" elite squads.) But let's face it: This is a staggering run of garbage and plenty of justification to can the skipper.
  22. This game would be entertaining if I didn't care who wins.
  23. The fact we get so few guys on base makes the DP total that much more impressive. Situational hitting, guys.
  24. Seems we're either really good or really bad. I'd naturally feel better if we'd played bad ball early and now were on an huge upswing. I think I really just need to temper my expectations about what these pitchers are (including guys rejoining the rotation) vs. what they were at their peak. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Yordan is back at anything close to his old self this year.
  25. Current AL West race
