    We're gonna be fine.

But we obviously angered the baseball gods by throwing up 23.

I suppose every single one of us knew we'd be wishing we could save some of those runs for autumn. I, for one, just didn't realize we'd start needing them within 24 hours.

We often play just well enough to win. Right now we're playing just badly enough to lose. I strongly prefer the former.

The thing I remember about the Minnesota State Fair when I went is that for $1, you got all you can drink milk or choco milk.  You just had to stand at the front of the line and pound it.  They jacked up the price to $2 a few years ago.

They have the usual butter sculptures, fried food, etc.

How's the lutefisk? Wait, no need to answer that. It's by definition inedible.

The fact that a lot of your freshman will be looking at significant playing time sounds like a championship quality team to me.

It's also the most convenient possible excuse for a lack of 2020 recruiting success: the old "unfavorable depth chart" line. Hard to get snaps when you're stuck behind the next wave of future All-Pros.

  4. Not sure how anyone ever could question Osuna’s impeccable judgment. But regardless of that, he’s been way too mortal of late. Maybe we had no business lucking into a win today, but we deserved better than that half-inning fiasco.

  5. Following that last offensive outburst, I checked the Orioles booth feed. One of their guys replayed a “valiant” diving attempt to catch one of our doubles and proclaimed Baltimore “a little unlucky” tonight. I kid you not.

the altuve homer to the conoco porch off maeda after we’d fallen behind by 3 again is my all-time favorite swing of the bat.

I guess you also have to put Chris Burke in the conversation. But I’m thinking Marwin against Jansen was as big as any.

Don't they also include the ushers, consession workers, players/coaches/staff, opposing players/coaches/staff, media, people within earshot of the stadium, all dead and buried Collies, and resident bats?

No way should mighty Bevo equal out to the same headcount as some flea-bitten cur. Advantage Texas.

Then again, no way does the average Texas fan approach the tonnage of the average aggy. Advantage A&M.

circular argument aside, i don't see any reason why they won't bring tucker up in sept and give him an "extended" look (~60ab).  if he's raking, he could get a crack at the postseason roster.  if he looks like he did last year, then he obviously needs more seasoning/offseason work/whatever.

we already know exactly who reddick is.  he's totally fucking fine as a 9 hole hitter on a team that wins 11 postseason games.

tucker/reddick is not an either/or scenario for the 2019 playoffs.  straw/diaz/maldonado have clear purpose on our roster.  after that, who knows.  at this point, i'd rather roll the dice on needing a lefty bat off the bench than someone deep in the pen like mchugh or devo.  sanchez and peacock give you plenty of flexibility (not to mention miley) for guys that may need to go more than an inning.

    Solid take.

My love/hate affair with Reddick has had more turns than LeMans. About the time I decide he's too worthless to even play for us in rookie ball, he gets some clutch hit or robs some opposing hitter of extra bases in a pivotal moment. Then I go back to being OK with him...until he goes back on another bad run, which usually doesn't take very long. Perplexing player, but I guess that's just who he is.
