I might be the only person to say this, but I hated watching him play. In part, that’s because as a hardcore Astros fan since before the Big Red Machine, I hated Cincy in general. But Rose came across as a special sort of douche. He seemed to think you got style points for making a routine play look way harder than it was. He’d dive for fly balls that didn’t require it, then flop around like a clubbed chicken to complete the show. And he’d mastered the whole hair thing long before Harper was even born.
I’m sure not saying Rose wasn’t a highly accomplished player. Anyone can see he was. Ridiculous hit numbers. But the gambling revelation didn’t even make me blink. He’d seemed like a tool all along.

Ugh. Sure glad I didn’t try to stay awake for that. It sounds like the horror flick I watched the night before.
I didn’t think we’d be great this year, but I sure never imagined this disaster.

Another fucking 9:30 start...
Make that 10:30 here. I hung with last night’s train wreck to the end and paid for it today. Signing off on tonight.

The way we’re playing, no lead is big enough. Unathletic and old is no way to win on the road, son.

Where are we with D’Squarious Green, Jr?
Some talk that he and Ozamataz Buckshank could be a package deal.

Or they could let him continue to pitch for multiple, high leverage innings, which is much more valuable.
Great to know the guy can do both. There's not a huge sample size to go off, but at this point, I trust Peacock more than Devo as an alternate closer.

I think it’s telling that AJ left Peacock in there instead of bringing in Giles.Absolutely. The Astros have been a little sloppy closing out a couple games so far, and with how hard it was to get a lead in this one, no point risking the W by getting cute. Giles will keep getting his chances, no doubt.
-
If Giles were to develop a blister or pull a groin or something, and Brad had to start closing a game here or there...well, maybe we'd somehow survive.
-
That'll work. Impressive outing by the Brad.

No Colby jack today.
-
Just do it.
-
Brad totaled him.

Way to build a run. Solid work.

Gonna need a little more than this out of Davis.

Hurry back, Yuli.

Not exactly a fielding, hitting or pitching clinic so far.

Defense isn't helping him today. And he relies on it more than our other starters.
Certainly the case with the defense, no question. But he's also missed the plate a lot so far. Hopefully he'll settle in and be the DK of old.

Throw strikes
Not sharp at all so far in 2018.

Never underestimate this team’s ability to shit the bed in a road game. Wouldn’t surprise me if Pop holds out a few since it’s a back to back.
I think I'd like to see Brandon Paul get some run tonight. Fresh legs, and we need some aggressiveness on the offensive end.

I think he's been that way for a while now. Some of it is obviously joking but there are definitely times where I have thought he was being a tool. I remember during the World Series he was throwing a fit because one of the local reporters for the news wore an Astros shirt while reporting from MMP during a game. That's not counting the few months he got pissed for everyone asking him if we were getting Verlander.....Which he was dead wrong about. His U of H takes are beyond stupid as well.
Having a journalism degree makes you an insufferable twit. I know because I have one.

No backwards Ks allowed, Max. Forward either, for that matter.

I was glad we moved past O’Neal and signed at least equal talent at his position. Look forward to the same thing happening here.
