They won't announce before they are eliminated. Deboer will play through as he did before.
Then it's gonna be a looooooong month or so in Ann Arbor and Tuscaloosa (and Baton Rouge).

In this situation, sitting altar boy still will accomplish nothing. They now know that screwing ND comes with a price.

Byu didn't get punished for losing. They were already ranked out of the playoff before the ccg.
But they dropped below Miami in the rankings, putting Miami and ND next to each other, which, for some fucking retarded reason made everyone wake the fuck up and realize Miami beat ND and they have the same record, which basically is why we have this thread right now.

I’ve said a million times, being mad at Bama is stupid as fuck, they were in before the CCG and weren't being excluded.
The committee has to stop pretending like Conference Championship games don't happen. We all can't act like we didn't see Alabama get utterly outclassed by Georgia. We know they don't belong. But I don't know how you make it fair.
However, if that's gonna be your position, you can't punish BYU and not punish Bama. The whole thing is absurd.
But most of all, fuck Notre Dame.

Saw Marked Men and Riverboat Gamblers at Mohawk last Friday night. It was cold as shit. Mike W from the Gamblers had kind of a weird performance, even for him. Marked Men were fun as always.
I also saw that David Byrne show at Bass Concert Hall. It was one of the most fun live music experiences of my life. Visually breathtaking. And it was beyond cool to see David Byrne perform a fuckton of Talking Heads hits. That's the closest we're gonna get to seeing those songs performed live.
Going to see Mike Cooley of the Drive By Truckers at Cactus Cafe tomorrow. Haven't seen a show there in decades, so I'm stoked. I've always loved Cooley's DBT songs.

The curious thing about the Neto situation is that he has been publicly quiet on the situation. Or at least I'm not aware of him publicly complaining. You would expect a national top-200 guy who got beat out by the worst player on the team to be first in line in the portal. Or to be pissing and moaning on twitter like Kris Boyd used to do. But he hasn't said jack shit and he's not in the portal yet. I think that's kinda weird.

Yeah, the notion that he could go in round 2 doesn't shock me. The guy is 6'6" with length and appears to dominate high-level competition at times. If he tests well, what's the knock on him?
production, athleticism, positional fit (SDEs don't typically go rounds 1/2)

Comments suggest this On3 article is about Justus Terry.
So a guy from Georgia, who at one time was committed to Georgia, and who had Georgia as his #2 choice when he signed with Texas - if he enters the portal, he would probably go to Georgia.
Got it.

Lord of the Rings did a fantastic job but was constrained by time limits and Jackson has said as much many time (we won't talk about The Hobbit movies).
There are deviations that were absolutely brilliant. When Frodo holds the ring in front of Aragorn and Aragorn closes his hand around Frodo's hand and tells him he would have went to Mordor, that was not directly in the book (Aragon never ran into Frodo after Boromir tried to take the ring if I recall) but it was an amazing line and scene that summed up Aragorn perfectly. Aragorn was not afraid of the ring but afraid of himself if he were to take possession of it.
And my LOTR fanatical middle-schooler mentioned that the ring on Aragorn's hand was an ancient ring given by somebody to their friend (Aragorn's ancestor I'm assuming) to illustrate their loyalty and friendship, so you see that ring of loyalty and friendship closing over The Ring. Jackson was doing deep dives on symbolism.
Jackson was the perfect person to take it from the pages to the screen (sorry Bakshi, I know you never got your full chance).

The description of the show is “The most miserable person on earth has to save the world from happiness.” Shes awful but she’s supposed to be awful.
Of course the most miserable person on earth is a lesbian.

Rosemont is a far better airport hotel location for Chicago.
That's like saying Georgetown is a far better suburb than Kyle.

to work with his daughter? otherwise, yeah probably not a huge chance.
I don't think the idea is that he comes here to work with his daughter. The idea is that he gets to work at the University of Texas again. With his daughter

They piss in towels on the sideline.

I feel safer knowing there are male Karens staying in airport hotels for a week in one of the greatest cities in the world, and that they're out there remedying the many outlandish grievances afflicting white male boomers today.
FYI, there's a great Chili's near your hotel. Check it out!

The only thing that ND has a right to be pissed off at is that the committee jerked them off for weeks making them think they were safe, and then pulled the rug out from under them at the last minute.
I think it's fucking hilarious, but if it were me I'd be pissed. Other than that, their resume is trash.
8 minutes ago, closetojumping said:On the ND 247 board, their mods are saying that the word they're hearing is that ND thinks the way forward is to dim down the ACC agreement to 2 games per year, and then cut the same deal with the Big 10, SEC and Big 12. Keep the Navy game, of course, and one other G6, like Rice next year, as an example, and then mix in 2 random home and homes with teams not in the rotation during each year from the P4.
Would the other conferences even be receptive to that? My hope is that they wouldn't, but money is money. What is the difference in $$ for a team that regularly sells out its stadium in playing ND vs. a home/home with NC State or Stanford, to use your hypothetical?

I don’t have an expectation at the end of the day on signing day that there is more coming. It’s when the coach and recruiting coordinator say publicly that “we’re not done yet” that puts such an expectation out there and annoys me when they don’t follow through. Just don’t say anything beyond how happy you are with the guys you signed.
Among all the annoying shit that Sark does, saying “we aren’t done” after the first signing day, even if we are done, is very low on the list of grievances I have with this staff. They have to say that shit.-

I finally watched this now that it's on HBO. I haven't seen Beau is Afraid, but this is definitely a few notches below Midsommer and Hereditary. Still enjoyed it. I did find the social commentary pretty one-dimensional and a little too on the nose. The cast carries the film. Great performances all around.

Well, we look to be fast approaching that school. Sorrell got drafted. Burke and Moore should this year as well. Simmons will for certain. The young guys are progressing nicely. Hook ‘em! 🤘
Ohio State has had 5 WRs drafted in the first round in the last 4 years, including the top player taken at the position in 2023 (smith-njigba) and 2024 (Harrison Jr). They've had 14 WRs taken in the draft since 2015. Texas has had three DEs drafted over that same period of time, none higher than Ossai in the third round. I'd love it if we could be the Ohio State of EDGE, but I'm not sure I'd characterize our progress as "fast approaching". More like, "emerging from incompetence".
