I've been enjoying some of the THC drinks that are available at Specs. Some of them have a horrible taste (not weed-y, just bad) and need to be mixed, but I like the effects that come with drinking THC. It feels that it hits quicker than edibles, but maybe that's placebo?

I love them, but they're, without question, the most expensive way to consume THC.  I think for the thc tonic industry to really take off, they need to get pricing somewhat competitive with beer. I do appreciate when they have them at bars, as I gave up drinking and feel like less of a square when I order a weed drink.

They are at Terry Blacks now and I told her not to get the beef rib just because of price.

Probably not the thread for this question, but whatever. Does anyone know how much a beef rib bone weighs? I've always wondered how much I'm paying for the bone. It's gotta be at least 4 ounces right? Maybe more?

What are the chances of someone convincing DeBoer to leave Bama? I assume things have smoothed over but definitely had a rocky start. Their fans were ready to oust him as recently as early this season. I wonder if he's happy there or could be lured away.

He's not taking a different college job. He might leave for the NFL, but similar to Sark, I don't think he's currently being seriously considered for any NFL gigs. Only one that would make sense is Atlanta if they think he  can uniquely transform Penix into an all-pro.

And his debut season was only a rocky start if you impossibly hold him to the same standard as Saban. They were one (admittedly disqualifying) loss to OU away from making the playoffs. Hardly a bad start in year one following the GOAT, even with the frustration of losing that OU game.

Florida/LSU/Penn St at all top 10 jobs, Florida is a Top 5 job, LSU a Top 3 one just behind OSU and Texas...if OU opens up that'll be at least 4 Top 10 jobs open.

Your job rankings are whack as fuck. LSU is not top3. It's definitely top 10, though. Florida and Penn State on the cusp of top 10, anywhere from 9-15 depending on how you rank tier 4. OU not even close to a top 10 job.

Tier One: Texas, Ohio State, Georgia

Tier Two: Oregon, Alabama, Michigan (assuming Larry Ellison keeps giving $$)

    Tier Three: LSU, Notre Dame

Tier Four: A&M, Florida, Penn State, Miami, Clemson, Florida State, Tennessee, Oklahoma,

  3. THEORETICALLY everything is still there for the taking. Win out and win a NC. I don't think anyone believes it's a real possibility, but it's not impossible.

Assuming that doesn't happen, we have the opportunity to have the second-best possible season - wins over both OU & A&M to potentially eliminate them from the playoffs. Honestly, that's really all I'm cheering for at this point.

    More T-Bob tardery:

    - He thinks Kelly is going to settle for $21 million.

    - Stock up : Jeff Lebby

Whenever I'm due a large amount of money from people who just fired me, I always accept less than half for no reason whatsoever. It's just smart.

The problem with internet journalism is that it seems to have removed the penalty for false or inaccurate reporting in favor of fast scoops.

Mainstream news outlets used to spend a lot of their ad revenue on trained, ethical, quality reporters that generated accurate, informative, and well-written news.  Their reputation as an outlet was closely tied to their accuracy.

The internet gave "journalists" a national and highly visible platform from which they could scoop mainstream media and the more sensational the scoop the better.  Along the way, it seems to have extracted most penalties for inaccuracy or even flat-out lies.

And that has extended to mainstream media as well.

News broke on the evening news or in the morning paper back then. It wasn't instantaneous. I don't know how you fix it though. The entire system incents sensationalism and immediacy over accuracy.

  6. Sagebrush put an announcement out at 8pm that they had not sold out yet.

I was at Die Spitz and they were fucking awesome. Was that you in the white printed shirt playing guitar Jimmy?

So I assume you use the lard to crisp the pork after its braised?  I just used the braising liquid that has accumulated the rendered fat.  Does the lard make an appreciable difference?

I confit the pork in the lard in the oven for like 3-4 hours, and then crisp it up in the skillet before serving. That's why you gotta get the good shit, and not that Armour garbage they sell at grocery stores.

That's where I buy my lard for carnitas. The taco joint in that same gas station/carnicaria makes damn fine breakfast tacos. And they have a fantastic selection of $1 mexican hot sauces.

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on the sky for sure.  I'm supposed to sit in on one song but the timing looks pretty dicey.

I'll be the guy yelling "Muledick!" after your song if the weather cooperates.

Whatever you do, don’t substitute pasta for the rice. That’s a forbidden starch anytime the term “chili” is even loosely referenced.

I don't know. I do love a scoop of chili and a scoop of homemade mac and cheese. Sometimes a bowl of chili mac hits the spot.

tortoise last night at radio east. have been impressed every time i've seen them, this was no exception. very enjoyable evening. the opener, thor, was painful.

I thought about going to that, but the thought of seeing tortoise outside seemed weird. I have no idea why.

@jimmyjazz, I have tickets to see your daughter's band tonight, and hoping the rain holds off. But that Spoon show at Sagebrush is also tempting. And indoors.
