  1. Cowboys can find a serviceable backup for Zeke via free agency. Drafting a RB before round 6 is a wasted pick when you have significant talent deficiencies at WR, DT, OL, S, etc.

Make sure you're logged in and then go to the front page where all the forums are listed. It will be listed in there. You can also change the forum view to fluid and it will show up on the right side when you back out of a thread.

But that's the problem. You can't login

ESPN U has been showing UCLA games all day long, which makes me wonder if they think they know something about the top pick in the draft.

Everything I've read said they're not considering Rosen. He's already publicly said he doesn't want to play for the Browns. Smart move.

NFL Network just mocked Vit Vea to the Deadskins, I would hate to see him in the NFC East.

Hahahaa Browns drafting Blow U QB Drunkard Mayfield, he fits their draft scheme, he will be out of the league in 3 years.

Your little nicknames are pretty aggy-esque.

  5. I support the players on this 100% but this whole thing is just fucking stupid. If the owners are this upset, they should just take away the players' platform and have the players stay in the locker room until after the anthem. Or, better yet, just stop playing the anthem at sporting events all together. Sports are not an exercise in civics. They're entertainment. They don't play the national fucking anthem at Alamo Drafthouse before you watch Black Panther.

"According to PFF". For whatever reason, so many people use them as the holy grail of rankings and they aren't. Earl is still one of the best safeties in the game. He's 100x better than what we have right now. And he will be better than any 2nd round pick or any round after that we would take. I definitely would not give up the farm for him but he instantly transforms this defense. He will make every player look better.

Defenses should be built from the inside out. DT, LB and safety. But we seem to want to cut corners there. We have Jeff fucking Heath still at safety. We draft a gimp in the 2nd round in 2016 and Sean Lee who is made of glass earlier this decade. We don't take the DT position that seriously either. Your edge rushers and corners won't amount to shit if the middle of your defense is piss poor. I know safety and DT are not the sexy positions but in my eyes, they are the most vital to a solid defense. Seattle's Legion of Boom was what it was for those years because of Earl and Chancellor. They made Sherman and the other DBs look the way they did. It's time we finally address that need. In a serious manner.

I didn't say PFF was the holy grail. I was merely pointing out that, objectively, Earl Thomas is no longer the unquestioned best safety in football. Yes, he's "one of the best" safeties. Yes, he would be much much better than anyone currently on our roster by a mile. However, he's entering the phase of his career where his talent will soon begin to regress and his salary will continue to increase. I'm generally not in favor of signing players who are older than 30 long-term high-dollar contracts. And I don't think Earl's gonna take a significant pay cut to play for the Cowboys. He might take a small discount to play for his home town team, but I doubt he would take the kind of below-market rate that would make signing him to a long-term deal a prudent allocation of finite resources.

You should expect to get an above-average multi-year starter out of the second round. If you regularly fuck up the second round like the Cowboys do, you make it nearly impossible to compete for a Super Bowl. Instead we've got wildcatter Jerry who is seemingly obsessed with rolling the dice on long-odds in the second round. It's maddening.

  7. Earl ranked as the 9th best safety in the NFL in 2017 according to PFF. He's elite but I don't think you can definitively say he's the best safety in football. He's also going to be 29 this year. And a free agent the following year, so you're going to have to pay him a shit ton of money for a contract that begins when he turns 30. Removing my burnt-orange glasses on this, I wouldn't give up a second round pick for that.

However, it's the Cowboys so it's almost a guarantee that they will fuck up their second round pick in spectacular fashion, so maybe it is worth it.

  8. Wife: I've got an idea that's going to save us a lot of money on redoing the bathroom

(We've not discussed nor agreed to redo our bathroom)

Wife: If we only do one glass panel instead of installing an entire new glass panel/door then we'll save a lot of money.

Me: So we're saving money on the most expensive plan that you priced out but was never a realistic option? That's not actually saving money. That's just wanting something that's still not going to happen.

    Wife: tone.

He hasn't taken his Texas official yet so he hasn't seen everything.

He's been on campus half a dozen times or more. He's seen 95 percent of it.

If anything, Aggy did what we did to Sterns last year. Kid was all one school forever, went to the other campus one time and flipped/committed.

Yes, but we're talking about Hudson freakin' Card, man.  He has had children named after him for several generations before he was born. That's how much of an athlete he is.  Some say that he's faster than Teddy Lehman and that his father is known as the Frank Sinatra of Lichtenstein.

Is this a thing y'all are gonna try to do? It'd be a lot better if we just stopped doing this thing.

+1. I'm still watching the game as we speak, but yeah, he looks at least as ready as Sam or Shane.

Well, he's playing against third-stringers and walk-ons. So yeah, he looks good. I did like what I saw on his second play when he felt pressure, spun out of it and threw to Davion Curtis, who had stepped out of bounds and should have had the catch. He looked comfortable improvising there.

  12. I feel like there are too many question marks with all of the top QBs to get someone to give up three first round picks for the Giants number two. But GMs do dumb shit when they're desperate for a QB so anything can happen I suppose. I think I like Rosen the best, but what the fuck do I know.

  13. As has been mentioned, the DQs outside of Texas basically only serve ice cream/soft serve. They have a shit-ton more options of ice cream than are available in Texas, too.

Decided to stop there on a road trip a few years ago. I got steak fingers and they were absolutely disgusting. Haven't/won't go back unless it's to get a blizzard with the kids

  14. I think the sound at ACL Live is pretty fantastic. And there's not really a bad seat in the house.

Kessler in Dallas was great the one time I went there.

Favorite rock club is the Empty Bottle in Chicago.
