  1. I think we should be the odds on favorite from a talent and roster standpoint. However, due to scheduling and simple law of averages/probability I see us as 10-2 but with 9-3 more likely than 11-1. It’s hard to square those two divergences but they’re both true to me. Games, seasons, and championships are decided on the margins. Football intelligence, situational awareness, and lack of mistakes will be the difference.
  2. Vapid lyrics made up for with unremarkable melodies.
  3. Our message walking out if the shoe
  4. This is good writing and has inspired me to revisit some of my favorite Red Smith and Grantland Rice articles. Thank you.
  5. Where is kj ford going and isn’t there another duncanville de that is d1 good? Where is he headed?
  6. Might need to change the thread title here too. Non Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: More Dollars Than Sense
  7. We might have -2 Hi’s right now 😂
  8. Each recent loss should be evaluated case by case. Some were for reasons other than nil primarily (Crowell, Griffin, Lee), others were because we were willingly outbid (Calicut). With others the competing team went stupid overboard (Henderson, guervil, ojo) In these cases we wouldn’t have matched even in a pre-House world. The sentiment I disagree most with is that House is a massive game changer and somehow we aren’t cheating hard enough. At the very most it’s causing programs to either have or think they have more money right now. I don’t believe it’s impacting our ability to make competitive, responsible offers, in the least. But if others in the know disagree, I’m willing to listen.
  9. Yes, I’ve felt so duped with all of these top 5 classes and an overall top 3 roster this year.
  10. Yep. Between CJ’s “decision primer”, the stand alone video, and Gerry’s blurb above, there is a lot of energy for an announcement that most of the industry has leaning to Bama.
  11. Is travis hunter playing dl for us? Sweet. A couple of the guys we brought in (Louisville guy and kanu) will be trying out for next year and might not be worth a shit. Keep stacking bodies Yes he visited. Tenn thought to be the leader, but we’re probably second.
  12. Fuck that, we won in 05, 06, 08, and 09. Username does not check out.
  13. Yeah, it also doesn’t create more good players. My thought is that will help a tad with retention for programs that previously had nothing and it will help lower to mid tier players earn some more.
  14. In the same hour that Bobby said he’s hearing Calicut is trending to Georgia, Ketch said he expects him to be Texas’ next commitment. 😂
  15. I don’t think there needs to be a Rivals branded fan site for Texas. IT will probably keep the On3 branding and that will be it.
  16. Reading these back to back is like asking a magic 8 ball the same question over and over again. Stupid magic 8 ball.
  17. That Lee news is the most significant and pleasant bit, imo.
  18. We’re going to line up him and Heze next to each other and alternate who runs routes and who stays in to block. Shit is going to be unstoppable.
  19. Gerry also dropped a Hi 30 minutes ago.
  20. Yep. Suck for him way more than us.
  21. I probably read something that was wrong or I misinterpreted it but it said players could opt out of the settlement and therefore wouldn’t be bound by its terms. In that case they couldn’t receive rev share and the clearinghouse wouldn’t apply. But as has been pointed out here that appears to be totally erroneous. Erroneous! I like where your head is at. Are you pre-med?
  22. According to imamac they can’t so it’s a moot point. But my thought was if they opt out they wouldn’t go through the clearinghouse house and could continue to receive deals through boosters and collectives without the deloitte scrutiny. For rosters like Texas the $15 million in rev share and whatever we can drum up in corporate won’t be enough.
