  1. I’ll give it a listen later, but color me skeptical. One of his two quotes in the intro is straight up wrong. Maybe he’s just delusional. “If, essentially, six weeks of shouting from the window that the sky is falling is enough to alter Fed policy, you don’t have Fed policy.” Umm https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/04/fed-chief-powell-just-walked-back-his-autopilot-remark-and-the-financial-markets-love-it.html
  2. I posted government data.
  3. Yes, you’ve got me figured out, I want to remove liberals and minorities from society.
  4. I posted the latest CPI numbers and gave the obvious reaction that both political parties and their followers will have. For some reason that was upsetting to you. To me, the elephant in the room is the expansion of the monetary base that occurred under Trump and will continue going forward under Biden (although less so). My analysis of how the parties and their followers would view the numbers is pretty straight forward and self explanatory. You’re trying to make my post partisan when it’s not.
  5. the Econ discussion happens in another forum here. The meme has been that this is all transitory. TBD. Transitory or not it has been running higher than market expectations. The CR angle is pretty simple. Dems will downplay it. Rs will emphasize it. But these are the current numbers.
  6. Oh sweet Jesus. I share this knowing you will all hate it here, but this is the CR thread for this stuff. Michael Saylor is going on his show tonight. I suspect he’s coming to it as he’s suddenly become concerned with government spending. The good news is Bitcoin is apolitical. Anyone can use the network, anyone can trash it. But they can’t affect how it keeps cranking along day by day.
  7. The first country I’ve seen outside our hemisphere signaling a move. Looks like they could commit some reserves soon.
  8. Since this is the new tax thread
  9. This is great sign for Bitcoin. I think the El Salvador news has caused a shift. Rising through bearish news.
  10. Looks like simple math here. Not sure he’ll get to 1% but that’s a reason to go first. It looks like Lightning network, specifically utilized by Strike and Jack Mallers, is the facilitator. Maybe it is a game changer as has been advertised.
  11. They’re not officially holding reserves yet, but they will hold $150M worth in a fund initially to help offset exchange risk for those that want it. He also said that US state dept and IMF have reached out. Meeting with IMF Thursday, but it’s already law. What dominos could be next? I think other Latin American countries are most obvious. Ecuador specifically is dollarized like El Salvador.
  12. They hold votes so Manchin can be asked again by advocates/journalists about the filibuster.
  13. This will be interesting to follow. Either it’s an insider leak, or the IRS was hacked. Either way they’re poor stewards of citizen’s private financial information.
  14. Why should anyone pay more taxes? We just print the money anyway and the Fed buys the bonds. Easy peasy lemon squeasy.
  15. What other methods could he use? I’m curious what you think Joe is not doing. How could he twist multiple Senators’ arms to have them change positions and risk their own seats?
  16. Do you mean making a lot of speeches supporting packing the courts, ending filibuster etc?
  17. What is he supposed to unilaterally do to “save democracy”?
  18. It was an opinion piece. There’s probably nothing to it. Dems should ignore.
