  1. He's morphed into Tuberville II at this point. No thought of winning, just half-assed attempts at damage control.
  2. I take you haven't watched the Tech offense much since Mahomes left, then? The shit Kliff is dialing up these days is more reminiscent of Greg Davis than it is of Mike Leach.
  3. Glorified scrimmage versus Lamar. We should've played this game to start the season.
  4. I prefer to continue watching and being infuriated.
  5. The plays Kliff called for Bowman would've been no different for (noodle-armed) Carter, as it was exactly what he did most games with Shimonek last year. We pick up decent yards running earlier in the game because at that point, opposing defenses still tend to respect that Tech might do something other than run outside or throw short passes. Once it becomes clear that Tech won't be attempting many passes over ten yards and don't complete them consistently when they do, the D tightens up and the run game stalls. It's happened over and over since the start of 2017, and it did again against Ole Miss. Kliff killed several crucial drives in the second half by running on 1st and 2nd and getting nothing, if not on all three downs. I would take any effective offense system over Kliff's at this point, but I would actually prefer someone from totally outside the Leach coaching tree. It really is best for a school like Tech that can't go out just any coach they want to explore every option and not limit themselves to Leach era former players.
  6. Solid win for y'all, even if Utenn isn't all that great. The Big XII needed it, what with UT and Tech shitting the bed against similar P5 opponents.
  7. I've thought the last few years proved that Kliff was just a glorified OC and QB coach, but I'm not sure now that he's even that. We got hurt today by a bad matchup with their big receivers on our crappy DBs, and there were some bad calls along with some typical stupid killer penalties that were correctly called. I think Kliff's bad play calling was as much a factor as anything, though. No matter who we have at QB, we won't go anywhere as a team if Kliff keeps calling 3 runs in a row, or run on 1st and 2nd, pass on third and long, on crucial, "must score" drives. Our offense has to score a lot for us to win. Not getting TDs when we get close is a killer for this team, just like pretty much every Tech team under Kliff. I actually really liked Bowman all and all, as one positive thing we can take away from this. I hope he'll stay when Kliff gets fired.
  8. Boring, unoriginal, looks like shit.
  9. Saw that one too. I was in the Tech band that year (my senior year at TTU), but I was suspended for the TCU game due to my minor role in an on the field incident involving the Austin American Statesman "Rex L Bat" bat mascot at the '95 Tech-UT game in Austin, so I watched as a (very drunk) civilian.
  10. That was actually the first Tech game I ever attended. Bill Joe Tolliver was not in good form that day.
  11. The spirit of Bobby brown shoes still haunts us, but I'm encouraged by the start, all in all. Once they get all the new players in, they should be a lot better defensively.
  12. We're back! I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and pay for NBC Gold. NSNO
  13. For the "most far left person on the board" you sure seem happy to spout all the same cliches as my most die hard Trumpkin relatives in West Texas.
  14. Ocean levels are apparently rising even faster than expected.

Yeah, FC Dallas is a pretty well run organization and does well with the player development side of things, but that's a different point. It's just a shame that they're so far out of the city. If they had a downtown stadium, they'd draw maybe twice as many people. It unfortunately feeds into the narrative that "Texas doesn't support pro soccer and doesn't deserve three MLS teams."

Seattle, like Atlanta, also shares a stadium with an NFL team and also draws Atlanta-like crowds (I understand you're talking about relatively new stadiums). Anyhow, I've only seen two MLS stadiums in person, in Frisco (FC Dallas) and in Harrison, NJ (Red Bulls). The Frisco one looks like it was built with expansion in mind. It's nice enough, but so basic you have to think they had planned to add on to it later. The Red Bulls' stadium is circular and has an overhang all around, so, while I'm no architect, I have to think it's as big as it'll ever be. That being said, if MLS could draw at least 20,000 most of the time in most cities with a few outliers like Atlanta and Seattle, I would think they would be quite happy. Then again, the fact that they even awarded a franchise to Columbus in the first place (and that they allowed FC Dallas to be placed in Frisco, which is more or less a permanent handicap to that franchise) makes me think that, at least as of the mid '90s, they had no idea how big pro soccer could be in the US.

Yellow is the most unique color in the league, as the primary color anyway, but I think it's good to leave that behind, in case Columbus wants to start a new version of the Crew. I would've been happy with just about any normal soccer color scheme as long as it didn't use red and/or blue.

Well, they can just fuck themselves then. I'm very happy with name, badge and colors. I can't wait to buy an official shirt/jersey.
  19. Not that anyone here disagrees, but goddamn, these are fucking hideous.
