Lake Georgetown if you don't mind backpacking in.

Wife brought home some blood oranges, and have been adding a slice to my OF. Pretty good for a change of pace.

Picked up the Delorme this afternoon at Cabelas. Cool little device.

if you dont want to get ripped off, dont buy a diamond.
the cost, and the value of the ring, is fair everywhere. what you get raped on is the rock.

I use the Delorme on my motorcycle. Had it for a couple of years. Gf likes being able to "see" me and know I'm safe, and at my age I don't go anywhere that i give a shit about hiding from her. I bought it for longer trips but use it on day trips too. No issues, but I haven't needed the sos feature. Two way communication was the deciding factor between it and the spot device. I suspect Spot lost ground when these came out and had to upgrade to remain relevant.
Would buy again, but haven't looked at the new Spot device in detail.
This is great to hear. Yeah, the spot seems like a good value, but after doing way to much research the last 48 hours, it really just can't compare. Just take the hardware out of the equation, and the Iridium coverage is vastly superior to Globalstar. Also, since the device is essentially a dumbed down satphone, you can use a different service provider. Looks like Protegear in Europe has some alternate service plans, including weekly if the Garmin options aren't to your liking.
Gonna give it a day or two for an ebay coupon, then press the trigger. Edit: These are on sale at Cabelas, so probably gonna pick one up this afternoon.

FWIW, the Spot seems to be not nearly as trusted as the Delorme in the thru hiking community.
I’ve seen that, but the X is different, as it is their first two way offering.
Either way, I’ve basically settled on Delorme Inreach, just waiting for an eBay coupon.

I could use another eBay code, anyone know of an active one?

Yeah, looks like they just announced a mini version. It won’t be out by my next trip, so I’m likely going to pick up a NOS Delorme version, since it’s the same as the Garmin. Also slightly sad the Spot X won’t be out by my next trip. It’s an even more value option.

Any of y’all have the Garmin/Delorme Inreach? The wife has started up again about me solo camping/hiking, and I’m seriously considering one.

Every time I’m back at the folks in LBK, I try to sneak in a Wienerschintzel run.

Hey guys we need to talk more even though we aren't currently planning on buying gear or going camping....moose out front of board discussion should have told ya
June 1st weekend I'm headed out to GP. Just for the weekend, but should be a good time. Hoping for good weather. Been doing some hikes after work to hopefully get my fat ass a little more ready for the altitude gain. (Side note, River Place Nature trail is a pretty good climb, if you are looking for something to kick your ass around Austin.)

Flew into Portland then camped a couple days along the gorge, drove around Mt Hood down to Bend, got wasted there for a night, spent a night outside Crater Lake, then camped for a couple days along the coast near Yachats. One of my favorite trips ever.
This is good to hear.

Anybody have a fix for the Chevy Lean? My 2002 Silverado leans to the drivers side due to years of both the driver and gas tank being on that side. Apparently it's a known issue.
I thought changing the leaf springs out would fix it. I installed some Rough Country lift springs in the back, but it's still leaning. If it's not a sprung spring, I'm at a loss.
It’s a Tacoma issue as well. When I installed a new suspension, the drivers side front coil over had a small .5 inch spacer, and there was a small shim on the drivers side rear leaf. Fixed my Taco lean. This was all aftermarket stuff, but you may be able to do something similar with stock parts.

Canoes are great haulers, until they tip over. We have a few in our group that roll with canoes, but never solo, and when they flip, it’s a bigger deal than when a kayak flips. The modern kayak is much more stable.
there are quite a few kayaks that can configure as both tandem and single. My first boat was a Malibu 2 XL, and I loved that boat, still regret selling it. It could do what you want as well until the little one gets older.

How would I do that? I already have an attic fans in the attic. The bedroom has a pitched ceiling that matches the roof line.
Not a blower in your bedroom, a blower in the garage. Installs in the wall, and drops the temp of the garage

Best crossing the finish line celebration ever!
i agree on the blame for the crash. But if you make me choose, it will always be Lorenzo. How I loathe him....

I have this issue as well, and mostly solved it via a window unit in the master. Put that bitch at 65 a couple hours before you go to sleep, and its like an icebox all night long. I think my wife would kill me if I tried a bed jet. She sleeps under two huge blankets now due to my ac unit.

So got an email last night that Vue in Austin is losing CBS as of today.
Thanks for the advanced warning.
sounds like I may be giving YT or DTVNow a test again.
