  1. So not backpacking, but the wife enjoyed our UT/AZ/CO trip so much last year she just suggested a tour of Oregon first week of October for this year. Don’t have the time to drive my truck out there, but we can rent a 4x4 Tundra with a slide in camper for crazy cheap. Hopefully booking this week. Gonna fly into Portland, drive down the coast to Redwood NP, then back up to Crater NP and up to Mt Hood and Columbia River Gorge.

I'm cool with blending the RV talk here on the camping thread, if others are?

I love the little Casitas and Scamps, those are great trailers.  The new Aistream Nest is in that same family of small fiberglass trailers, but if the Casitas and Scamps are a little pricey, the Airstream is bust-the-bank type stuff.  Very cool, though.

Yeah, a small teardrop style camper may be in my future. But I'm talking super small, like just the bed/sleeping area inside, have the kitchen outside. I want something super light.

  3. Here is a pic of my hot sauce overstock supply. I didn’t bother pulling out the 15 open ones in the fridge, but here is what I make sure to always have on hand. As you can see, I prefer the beware Variety of MS, but the all have their place. Haven’t tried the smoked versions. The small Tabasco is the Lizano brand from Costa Rica. It’s not very hot, but it has a very unique flavor that I enjoy on eggs etc.

Holy hell you got 40K after you bought them from me? That’s a lot of driving.

I have KO2s now. I will stay with them or get Cooper ST Maxx in a “pizza cutter” size for my next set.

The advantage of the KO2 or ST Maxx is that they have a very tough sidewall, so they are great in rocky terrain.

    Yeah.

Watching some nasty shit headed SE towards me (near Lake GTown) right now. Hope it shifts a little further north...

Looks like it’s gonna skip just north of you.

They have a warehouse in Dallas, so it will take 2 days to get them since Discount doesn't stock them.

Yeah, like I said, heard great things. But I just got back from big bend, drove back on spare. Needed tires right now. Those will probably be my next.

  7. Ok, a buddy told me to buy some also, so just ordered some.

my current fav is Marie Sharps. Habanero sauce from Belize. Got hooked while we were there. They have a XXX that I make a wing sauce from. BOMB

  8. I feel like if mileage is a big concern, ATs may not be the best choice.

i did get 40k on my coopers before a rock fucked them in big bend. Easily had 25k more miles. Were not even half worn yet.

Do whatever the guys at Discount Tire recommend, plus always buy the road hazard warranty.

Maybe for road tires, but when I got my BFGs I had 20 minutes of the salesman pushing their in house AT like it was the greatest thing ever, checked reviews and they were shit.

lol. I just went out and checked my BFG and they are the KO2's Baja Champion. yea there around 1200 all in at discount tire. been running them last couple of sets.

I’d check Sams as well. Even if you had to buy a membership it might still be cheaper
