  1. I'm seriously itching to take my boys camping this fall (off week of course). Because they'll be roughly three and 16 months at the time, I'm thinking a state park with cabins will have to do. Any recommendations in the central Texas area? I know that Bastrop SP has some decent cabins, but the dam on their lake gave way a couple of years ago so no fishing, though we could head over to Buescher if we were desperate to wet a line. Really I'm looking for an excuse for an adventure out doors and unplugged and to give them a very easy introduction to camping. Any thoughts from those who have tried are appreciated.
  2. And just like that how the ass takes the length is finally answered.

  4. If anyone's looking for something to do tonight, we're about to start the last quiz of wave one at www.facebook.com/austinpubquiz .
  5. I can only take so much Andy Cohen, but Tom mentioned that she had probably overtaken Paul Q as the most dominant ever. Very well deserved.
  6. Thanks for the replies, got in to see the folks at North Austin Foot and Ankle who were absolutely great. Nothing broken, but a pretty severe sprain, I'll be living the boot life for the next two weeks which should help me keep up with the toddlers. Maybe I can translate this into some sympathy loving from the wife. There's always an upside.
  7. Does anyone have a recommendation for a sports medicine or orthopedic group in Austin? Went to move a damn sprinkler last night stepped off the damn deck and reasonably damn sober, I rolled the fuck out of my damn ankle feeling several damn things pop or strain. Iced and wrapped it last night and this morning it's the size of a softball and feels nothing like the sprained or rolled ankles I've had in the past. Any recommendations will be greatly damn appreciated.
  8. Anyone living in the Amarillo area? My wife's grandmother passed away in April and the proposed funeral date is for early June (cremated). She was a strong and amazing woman and my wife and I obviously want to honor her and my wife is in need of the grieving process which seems to have been put on hold. The issue is, while we both feel like it should be pushed back, my father in law is most likely going to go ahead with the date in spite of the outbreak in the panhandle. My question for you is how are things being handled up there right now? Are social distancing and masks being utilized or is it not being taken seriously? We have two boys under three who would be coming with us. Neither one of us feel like this is safe or right, but my wife is being put between a rock and a hard place.
  9. Running it again tonight if anyone's interested. 830 live stream at Facebook.com/austinpubquiz
  10. Just finished LCK. If you haven't watched it yet, it's a two parter and we couldn't find it on the Bravo app, but it's available on Youtube. Best one they've done so far and in my opinion as good as any regular episode they've had.
  11. Thunder and lightning all around but not a drop of rain yet. 79829 checking in.
  12. I have no fucking clue what any of the days are anymore. But yes, Saturdays.
  13. Sorry I didn't see this until now and yep we did it again. We're gonna keep going every Friday as long as it's smart to stay in.
  14. If anyone's looking for something to do tonight, we'll be live streaming the pub quiz tonight at 8:30 CST. http://www.facebook.com/austinpubquiz
  15. The kids went to bed early tonight so the wife won't be playing catch up. It shouldn't be to difficult, but remind me as I plan on drinking to change things up.
  16. Last night was a bit of a cluster with both kiddos up most of Friday night. Hopefully you had fun though!
  17. @Knoxtnhorn I'm glad you enjoyed it! We've been getting a lot of extremely positive feedback, and it's definitely scratched an itch of my own. Like I said Saturday, we're going to keep doing this each Saturday as long as this shit sticks around. It just seems to be a really good break for folks, not to mention an excuse to reach out and spend time with friends. @Brisketexan Literally the more the merrier. We all need something fun right now.
  18. So the way we're doing it is we're live streaming the questions on a Facebook Live broadcast and have an online answer sheet that you'll turn in at the end of each round. We're asking for teams to coordinate how they get together, but popular methods are zoom, skype, facetime etc. One scribe and one answer sheet turned in per team per round works best. I'll go over the FAQ's before we start tonight as well. http://www.facebook.com/austinpubquiz
  19. If any of you assholes are in need of socializing this weekend, I hosted pub quizzes / trivia nights for over ten years in Austin and have come out of retirement and am hosting a pub quiz each Saturday at 8:30 CST via Facebook live as long as this Corona crap sticks around. Last week we had 20 plus teams get together via zoom, the phone, and other ways to play along. It's really just an excuse for friends to (virtually) hangout and have something to do. It was really cool to pop into some of their Zoom groups and see folks on their couches hanging out with their friends miles apart. www.www.facebook.com/austinpubquiz
  20. If it makes you feel any better, at least your kid shows some imagination. We have a cat that the two year old named Cat. We tossed out name after name and nope "he name Cat".
  21. Online education companies, specifically those that provide online curriculum to school districts. I happen to work for one of the big guns and obviously it's huge for us.
