Growing up in South Texas, but living up in the PNW area now, up around McCall, Idaho is a place I recommend to a lot of my friends still down south as a nice summer escape from Texas. Even in peak summer temps might hit mid 80's but still 50's at night. Lots of national parks, hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, boating, etc and the entire city is walkable.

Heading to Seattle the 2nd week in august and planning to do Olympic and Rainier with the family (10 and 8 yo) for 4.5 days before ending up on Whidbey Island at the end of day 5.
How is this for an itinerary:
day 1: arrive; drive to port Angeles.
day 2: hurricane ridge, Ruby Beach. Stay around Forksday 3: Hoh rainforest (any other must sees in Olympic?); drive to/stay around Ashford
day 4: paradise or some of the other options upthread if weather isn’t clear; stay in packwood
day 5: Sunrise in the morning; head to Whidbey Island mid-afternoon
Finnriver Cider is a great place to stop on the way to Port Angeles as long as its not 100 degrees outside (Its rare, but happened to me). Poulsbo is my other favorite city just south of there and on the way if you take the Bainbridge Ferry across. Cool ass Nordic Viking tourist town and one of my current retirement spots.

You *literally* are upset that we didn't cap tie him. So yes, you are saying he should have gotten half the minutes (or 2/5 of the minutes or whatever) in the group stage (that's without mentioning how bizarre it would be to waste a sub on a keeper at 60 mins when we're trying to keep legs fresh).
We aren't babying some 19 year old kid and pissing off our starting goalkeeper because we are afraid about him defecting. He just played every game for us in the U20 World Cup. He has never expressed any desire to play for Poland. I'm done discussing this.
Why would Turner be upset about Gaga but not Johnson? You aren’t pissing him off with this, they all understand the business. We sent our C team to this tournament, Turner isn’t fucking stupid.
Also Subotić!-

Curious to how many minutes Paxton gets this season.
Also Paxton scored 4 against the German 6th division New Braunfels team in a 15-1 win today. -

1) Nice movement, nice goal.
2) I hate when videos don’t have sound.
3) it is going to be cool to have both Aaronson bros in Germany this year. Hopefully they get a o be on the field at the same time when their teams play each other.

If Arsenal is serious about winning the league I would imagine you'd want him to stick around. You need that depth come March when you're trying to keep pace with City.
But maybe they think they could use the $50-$60M better elsewhere.
Arsenal have spent a good amount of money this window. Jurrien Timber today along with Havertz, and Rice and the accountants have always had a say at Arsenal. Would love for him to crack the first team, but maybe another loan could be an option too. Would love him to go to Napoli if they sell Osinhem. -

I'll never hate Miazga. Sure he never developed since he signed with Chelsea (happens all the time), but this is worth so much more than that and will live forever:

Though Gaga has played for the US at every level and has refused callups from his ancestral Poland, he is not cap tied as his only appearance for the senior men's team was a friendly back in January against Serbia.
I'm also not willing to forgive some of Callaghan's starting lineups for this tournament and the roster as a whole. Why not include more juniors instead of so many old vets who absolutely won't be involved in 2026? Why so many minutes for Zendejas, Sonora and Gressel?
Maybe he's toeing the line someone else set for him, but he should've done better. It's not like the USSF would fire and replace him for a few matches with Berhalter, Part Deux already announced and waiting in the wings.
Good point

In any event, they both seem good and strong on the ball but just lacking that last bit of skill our A team has. Will be interested to see if Hoppe gets any run this year back at Middlesbrough or if he is stuck in Scotland again.
I see Hoppe as a only a #9 where Cowell is a #7 and thats the difference. Hope I'm wrong on Hoppe!

Am I wrong to think Cowell looks a lot like Matt Hoppe did that summer he got a ton of run with USMNT? I remember liking that dude back them - lots of great runs, strong on ball, often can’t complete the play. That’s not a knock on Cowell. I remember really liking Hoppe that summer.
He seemed to hit a wall fast given he’s stuck in non-Rangers/Celtic Scotland now.
Yes, different players in different positions with different skill sets.-

Well, if there's one thing Berhalter and his staff are known for, it's novel tactics.

Cowell behind Pulisic at left half, Vazquez behind Balogun at striker, both A-squad call-ups
Both are somewhere around 4-5th on the A team depth chart which speaks volumes to our 2018 failure!-

Inspired individual effort from Shaffelberg. He got away with a lot of hands to win possession, but toasted everyone and, geez, nice run and finish. Tip 'o the hat.
Kid looks like Dirk Kuyt visited Canada 24 years ago.-

Huge, if true. Hope Classics do the right thing and put it back into the club to benefit the kids they serve.
So my wife manages a soccer club up here and the amount they gift into low income families and refugees is huge. $180,000 could serve thousands of families over the next decade while they still rake in a shit ton of money.-

NARRATOR: The kid wasn't even hers.
Panama embarrassing Qatar shouldn't be a surprise. The Canaleros sent their A team and have been playing well. Meanwhile, Qatar sent its B side and then was forced to play without many of those starters tonight because the CONCACAF ref from Canada during the group finale against Mexico got frustrated about not being able to push El Tri to victory so he instead dished out NINE cautions to Qatari players.
So basically, Panama is playing Qatar's C team.
Either way fuck Qatar and fuck Concacaf for inviting them!-
