  1. It absolutely is not. Yep, been around since the late 90s.
  2. I think North Shore just lost. It’s not because they “underestimated” Westlake or anything, they just got their asses beat in the trenches. Westlake can do that to teams, because they are a powerhouse program. I get that it’s fun to position yourselves as the underdog, but Duncanville and North Shore are the only two programs in the state that Westlake were/would be legit underdogs to. You got the rare chance to be David last week, but now it’s back to being Goliath. With all of that said, North Crowley has some small position players, but they’ve got some big boys upfront. John Turntine is the best OT in the state, a 5-star that’s being recruited by everyone, and the OG next to him is a Missouri signee. So I think some of the talk about them being small is overstated.
  3. Austin sweeps Houston. Both Austin teams were underdogs too.
  4. He didn’t tear his PCL, they feared he did, but when the doctors took a look they found it was fully intact.
  5. Both Duncanville and North Shore go down, who saw that coming?
  6. North Crowley wins! 36-34 RBs dominated, got the big first down, Duncanville didn’t get ball back.
  7. Game has lived up to the hype.
  8. North Crowley scores on 4th and goal! Now leads 36-27, just 3:30 left on the clock.
  9. Duncanville scores but fails the 2 pt try North Crowley leads 29-27.
  10. North Crowley 49 yard TD pass now up 29-21 early in the 4th
  11. He tore an ACL, he’s not fucking paralyzed. It’s 2024, players come back from torn ACLs.
  12. Congrats to all the Westlake fans on the board and thanks for saving us from potentially the 362nd Duncanville-North Shore meeting.
  13. North Crowley has athletes all over the place. Really impressive.
  14. SOC cruises past Argyle 37-3 and Richmond Randle also dominates Boerne 42-7. SOC-Randle should be a much better game than these semis were.
  15. Finkley was undersized, and we all knew it at the time, but he was a good kid with a good work ethic and he did in fact provide quality depth for us. He played, he just wasn’t going to start with the talent we have at edge. We take 25-30 HS kids every year, they can’t all start. Doesn’t mean they didn’t get developed any.
  16. The 3rd triple crown receiver ever wasn’t even a finalist for the award. And no one cared.
  17. A&M doesn’t have shit else to do. Why would you want to keep them if they suck? Some of y’all just want bodies for the sake of having bodies, none of these guys played. The screw up with DTs happened when these guys were recruited, not when they were let go/bailed.
  18. He’s gotta be going to a major program. Maybe a little closer to home for him.
  19. Alford had a year at USC between his Texas and Arizona State seasons though. He’s the second leading tackler on ASU. Swanson and Dorbah play a little bit, that’s pretty much it.
  20. Very good point. People are moving further south where there’s plenty of space for affordable housing. Red Oak has exploded and they have to be taking some kids from the DeSoto/Cedar Hill southwest Dallas county area.
  21. I wanted Tapp to be better. I enjoyed his recruitment.
  22. It’s hard to nail down a single reason, could be declining birth rates, gentrification, decline in new housing being built, charter schools (this would be my top guess for DeSoto.) Cedar Hill got hit pretty hard too, but they’ve always been a small 6A school, and they still hung on to 6A numbers this cycle. No one got hit harder than DeSoto. Duncanville’s district includes a lot of Dallas (always has) and that might be preventing them from the same fate. They’ve had huge demographic shifts, but not student population loss. The weird thing for me is that Lancaster high school grew, you’d think they’d be in a similar place as DeSoto and Cedar Hill, but they had to move up classifications.
