  1. He’s a max effort guy who also has max athleticism. Makes him both super fun to watch and easy to root for.
  2. Wasn’t there talk recently of a kid who tried to commit and the staff told him to slow down? Could easily see that being Rink, and now he’s a little butthurt about being rebuffed.

  4. Everyone would’ve taken Wheaton or Johnson, but Brooks had his fair share of defenders on the board at the time too, especially once he got deep into his senior year. He had amazing tape, some just couldn’t get over that it was in 3A. But I do think even the Brooks defenders wanted him to be part of a two back class.
  5. Hallettsville is actually 3A. I remember all the gnashing of teeth by certain people on this board about why were we taking such a small-school kid and missing out on Camar Wheaton and LJ Johnson.
  6. Seems dumb. I feel like the coaches who actually make conference championship games are going to complain about this as soon as they actually have to do both.
  7. So did Worthy. I can’t imagine recruiting that kid would be worth it. Let him and his family be someone else’s headache.
  8. Aledo and SOC were scheduled to play, but the game got cut because Aledo got put into a 9 team district. SOC replaced Aledo with Longview.
  9. Jatavion Sanders. Wiley got to be the #1 TE at TCU, he wasn’t gonna be that here.
  10. There wasn’t much defense played in that game at all if I recall correctly. Both QBs threw for 400+ yards. Chaisson was pretty good at LSU overall though. But he only played two seasons because of injury. In the context of “would he be worth it”, I’d say he’s one of the few North Shore kids that would’ve been worth it. First team all-SEC, led LSU in sacks and became a first round draft pick. He was not a bust in college. He was a bust in the NFL.
  11. He was a bust in the NFL, not college. College is what we care about here.
  12. SOC continues to schedule the most insane non-district in the state. And Longview was originally supposed to be Aledo.
  13. I mean, which reason do you think they presented to the UIL? Duncanville, Cedar Hill and Lancaster are all right next to DeSoto.
  14. With DeSoto opting up, the district of doom gets even harder as it now adds Lancaster who moved up to 6A. It’s now Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Waxahachie, Skyline, Lancaster, Mesquite, and Mesquite Horn. Poor MISD. And Aledo fans everywhere breathed a sigh of relief.
  15. The X is a Nation of Islam thing, it was never exclusive to Malcolm.
  16. I think this is one of the two biggest reasons. Almost everyone signs on ESD, we’ve shortened the recruiting cycle by two months. The other big reason is that recruiting discussions have been fractured into a bunch of different threads. The transfer portal thread is almost 200 pages, the aggy thread is over 200 pages, the coaches and supporting staff thread is over 50 pages and we create a new thread for every single commit. Also, there’s an OU thread, an NIL thread, an aggy screenshot thread, a SEC screenshot thread, a 9.95ers thread, etc. Some of these existed on shaggy, but a lot of them didn’t.
  17. There’s a delay because more players are going to enter the portal in the Spring. The super DT that you want them to get, doesn’t exist in the portal right now. Yes he has. He’s a 3-tech. It’s not untraditional at all.
  18. The funniest thing about this is so many people groaned when we lost Trill Carter and he only had 9 tackles all season. People aren’t even using the stupid measurement consistently.
  19. Everyone was a big step down from the starters, the starters were unbelievably great. We’re not going to match the production at DT, it was extraordinarily exceptional this past year. But that doesn’t mean Broughton or Savea are bad players.
  20. Savea is a fine replacement for Trill Carter. I’d gladly take him. There is no DT currently available that can come even close to replacing Murphy or Sweat. Maybe something happens in the Spring window, but that caliber of player at that position doesn’t come around very often in the portal.
  21. Yep, I assume Niblett and/or Moore will transfer at some point, but Sark is trading in unknowns for knowns, can’t be mad at that. There’s going to be great WRs in the portal every year and clearly Sark can land them. It’s one position none of us should spend any time worrying about.
  22. They are brothers. Mater Dei and IMG are both high schools that recruit nationally. And Eli transferred to IMG before his senior year anyway.
  23. Blues brothers is not good. I’m convinced people only claim to like it because they think they’re supposed to. The whole “let’s gather some of the greatest musicians in the world and have them play background for two SNL dipshits with little to no musical talent” is a hard pass for me.
