Maybe, but Georgia won’t go.
Sure, but if FSU doesn't lose we're still out. Bama just jumps into Georgia's spot as SEC champ and we're still #5.

I don't think your scenario for the PAC qualifies as "crazy shit." I'm not saying it will happen, but Oregon St. beating Oregon isn't crazy, and honestly, Arizona beating Washington isn't either. FSU is the more likely path, but there is plenty of meaningful football to be played that will decide this, including by us.
Ok, not crazy but certainly highly unlikely. OSU is a 14 point dog to Oregon and Arizona certainly would be to Washington. Once you start relying on multiple upsets, odds get pretty long.
FSU is the opposite, we only need one loss and have 2 chances. Not to mention no quarterback.
-
An Alabama on a 10 game winning streak that just won the SEC and beat the 2 time defending champ gets in before us. I'm not saying it's right or fair, but the circumcized one is correct.

For fucks sake, I was trying to be nice to you because you clearly are not understanding the situation.
It does not fucking matter what Oregon or Washington do because they play each other and 1 of them will be eliminated from discussion and the other will most likely be ahead of us.
All we need is Florida State to lose. Washington winning or losing is completely irrelevant.
This. How is this so difficult? Absent some crazy shit the PAC, big 10 and SEC have a spot. Our only reasonably probable path is FSU losing.
I suppose you could hope for 1) Iowa to beat the tOSU/Michigan winner or 2) Oregon st to beat Oregon and then Washington loses in the PAC championship to Arizona, or 3) Auburn beats bama who then blows out Georgia, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on any of those scenarios.
We win 2, FSU loses one. That's the way.

Yup, there are basically 3 tiers:
1) Blue Bloods (8 schools) - perennial contenders
2) Half bloods (about 16 schools) - have a fantastic year once every 5-10 years, maybe contend every once in a while
3) everyone else
aggie falls into #2 only because of their location, money, and rabid fanbase. Their history is shit and their tradition has become an albatross around their neck
Who is the 8th blue blood? Nebraska? Because that job is now clearly tier 2 if not 3.

Aggy is dumb and values splash over competency. Therefore we actually want them to get exactly what they want.

So, the liberal hippy school gets a former green beret to walk on and the rural redneck corps school has an observant jew from Philly. Makes perfect sense

Ask your baylor regent friend how much Dave's buyout is
Holy shit, just looked it up- estimated at 24-30mm. I guess that's why my Baptist friend is so bitchy this year

One of my sister's kids plays a non revenue sport for Stanford (see how I phrased that to avoid the inevitable requests for pics?). They are always flying all over the Midwest and East Coast. It's kind of like professional sports where they'll schedule a bunch of east coast teams back to back and just stay out there a few days. Does not seem fun or helpful for grades.

they cant keep Dave at this point. he's toast.
i know folks who know folks who say he's toast and that's been a decision made a few weeks ago.
A friend of mine is a Baylor regent. Let's just say Dave's seat is very very toasty.

Michigan should write aggy a check for diverting the attention of the college football media. Kind of like Madoff about to get audited by the SEC (securities, not football) in September 2001.

I assume this story is being “leaked” for a reason(s). Not sure why it would be brought up now? I mean I speculate on shit but I honestly have no clue.
I took it as a warning shot to wait a few months before we rebudget all that NIL money.

Followed by Mark Sanchez right. Wasn’t he a 1st round pick too?
JD Booty was between Leinart and Sanchez for 2006 and part of 2007

I was only considering collegiate production. In Vince, then Colt, we had two of the best back-to-back starting quarterbacks in the history of college football. One should've won the Heisman and the other was in the top three in back-to-back seasons. Yes, I know we had a couple of years while Colt matured into the juggernaut he was in 2008 and 2009 but let's be honest, if he hadn't gotten hurt his freshman year, the Longhorns would've won the Big 12 title and gone into the bowl season with just the one loss to Ohio State.
OU went from Baker Mayfield to Kyler Murray to Jalen Hurts, then Spencer Rattler before Caleb Williams, which is pretty remarkable. I'm sure there are other examples but I'm having a hard time coming up with them.
Carson Palmer to Matt Leinart wasn't a bad stretch for USC.

I'm old enough to remember when aggy hired Sherrill from pitt in the early 80s. It was for something like 250k per year which basically doubled everyone else and was a huge deal in the media at the time.
Now they've done the same thing with buyouts and very likely the next coach, who is not gonna take under 10mm if he's smart enough to spot the sucker.

From the article- "Despite the fact roughly half of coaches wind up getting fired eventually, nobody ever thinks their coach will be one of them, so nobody stops to consider whether committing so much money to one person is a financially prudent move"
Gee, half end in failure but everyone is too in love to worry about that. There's a thread about this somewhere...

Wait, is using "in spades" racist? It's a bridge term (the card kind not the one you sleep under).

Throwing big bucks at a big name coach who has burned down his current program and is on the hot seat there? Who would do something that stupid? Oh, right.
