    TEXAS QB TALK

This. We have an OL that can't block, and a QB that holds the ball staring downfield waiting for a WR to break wide open. That's a disastrous combination. CT just needs to take the easy plays that are there to be made, and the downfield passing game will open up.
  2. Iowa State and Kansas State have a system that has been in place for years, and they recruit and develop players to play within their system. We have a new staff trying to take a bunch of players that were recruited to play Herman's O and whatever the fuck Orlando was trying to do on D, and they are a very poor fit for what our new staff wants to do. For example, PKs scheme is all about funneling tackles to the LBs and safeties. Well guess which position groups are our worst on D? Is that PKs fault or the previous staff that largely ignored LB recruiting and did a terrible job developing our highly rated safeties? In the 4th quarter against OSU there were plays there to be made and the PLAYERS didn't make them. OSU loaded up against our outside zone and we dialed up plays to counter that, but the players didn't execute. There were multiple crucial downs where we had receivers wide open for a first, and CT couldn't find them. Sark can't make the reads and throws for CT. Flood can't tell the OL who they are supposed to be blocking on every play. The staff has made many mistakes but they are new and working with players they are still feeling out. I'm definitely not happy with the results so far, the team has looked worse than I expected especially on D, but sometimes this happens with a new staff implementing new schemes - players look slow and hesitant. If this shit doesn't improve drastically next season then we have a big problem.
  3. Sure our OL has more raw talent than the OSU DL, but not sure why that is even relevant at this point. It's clear from watching our OL perform this season that the talent hasn't been developed at all. So who is mostly to blame for that? Sark and Flood who have been here all of ~10 months, or the previous staff that had years to recruit and develop these players?
  4. This is CTJ's schtick that he's been doing for as long as I can remember following Texas football message boards, and more likely than not he'll be right because it's apparently really fucking hard to be a successful head coach at Texas. But CTJ won't be right because he has any kind of special insight into head football coaching skills or player talent, he just turns into a negative whiny bitch when we don't perform to his expectations.
  5. Casey could have helped himself and the line by taking some of the short throws that were there for first downs on Saturday instead of holding onto the ball and staring downfield like a statue.
  6. I’m left center towards the front on the lawn
  7. Yes I'm sure you are acting in good faith.

  9. Ronnie Perkins is already in the NFL, 3rd round pick in 2021.
  10. I'm sure Jett Bush is a great guy and is doing the very best he can, but I refuse to believe we are so devoid of talent that we have no other choice but to give him significant snaps in the biggest game of the year. If more talented players can't get on the field because they don't understand what they are supposed to be doing in this scheme, then the problem isn't with those players.
  11. PK seems like he sucks
  12. Perkins is 210 as a junior in high school, who knows what weight he’ll be playing at after a couple years in a college s&c program. He may start out at Cooks current position but I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t grow out of it.
  13. I agree that Casey is our best option right now. He never appeared to be rattled on Saturday even with his struggles and the drops. I think we'll see a much better performance from Casey against OU.
  14. Sark is repeatedly scheming guys wide ass open deep and we just can't execute, whether it be because of the OL or QB. It's severely hampering the offense and we still put up 32 points against a Patterson D. If Sark can get a QB in place that can distribute the ball accurately to all areas of the field and an OL that can protect him then watch out.
  15. He got rolled up on in the first quarter so that could explain some of his struggles with the speed rush on Saturday.
  16. Lol you sure are sensitive and also wrong. If you need evidence that Whitt is a better option than Worthy on the jet sweep at the GL just go watch the Tech game where in the same situation Whitt carried a defender into the EZ, dumbass.
