  1. Ran a few errands. Full size Tundra with slightly oversized Cooper ATPs on it. No reason to even engage 4x4. No real weight in the bed. It's just slushy. No ice.....yet. Didn't slip and slide or have any issues overcorrecting except when I purposefully gunned it to scare my sassy little daughter.
  2. Yep. Family is WA state deal with this all the time. Hell, they were cutting x-mas trees yearly for a while in the mountains and had to gear up to do it. Brother's big Dodge always gets punked when my dad and his little '09 Tacoma jut snakes it's way up the trails that the bigger trucks can't manage.
  3. It makes sense. Ranchers have known this for decades. Hell, the old boy near us reclaimed a bunch of overgrown ranchland with a bunch of scraggly old goats. Looks like a bomb went off after a few days.
  4. THIS. I mentioned this five or so pages back. Getty has been doing this for years. Put up a hot-fence a few acres at a time and let those little monsters do what they do. The larger vegetation who's root system anchors the soil wouldn't be impacted, but all the ground vegetation can be reduced significantly
  5. Yep, everyone with a 4x4 thinks it's the magic cure. Sure, it can help you start, but not stop....and AT/Mud tires on snow & ice are dogshit. I was crossing a small overpass once near Sherman in a 4x2 truck with no weight in the back. Did a complete 360 and never touched either side of the guardrails. Thankfully nobody was around as I obviously cleared both lanes, but damn. Sobering to say the least. I also remember the days before they lowered the gradient on Ranger Hill. Half the state would get stranded.
  6. Luckily, I have a backup plan
  7. Lucky for me I get to go to the airport in the morning. LFG!
  8. Snowing in N. DFW quite a bit. Both the city and my wife might get 6+ inches today
  9. AH FUCK, Bob's grilling again. Trigger the countermeasures!
  10. Japan has a plan for such contingencies
  11. Jesus, cedar shingles. Have fun with that. We had them on our hunting cabin before we replaced with sheet metal. We still have piles of them and they light on fire like they are soaked in kerosene.
  12. It's the Palisades, so it's probably FIJI water only.
  13. I have little doubt it happened almost exactly like this
  14. Getty has been smart over the years utilizing hundreds of goats from local ranchers to eat down all the surrounding vegetation around the perimeter of the park. Why the hell can't the rest of the valleys look at something like this to keep all the dense underbrush better controlled?
  15. Isn't there one way in and one way out? How do they get there if the roads are packed with abandoned cars?
  16. Oh, yet another new caliber. That's weird......;)
