  1. African bees are aggressive as hell and can follow you for up to a mile (says our bee guy)
  2. Is this a plot to a Jason Statham movie? Are there Bees?
  3. Or it was some ratatouille moment
  4. Meh. Just makes slightly larger holes. We shot all kinds of shit at our place: old toilet, refrigerator, cinder blocks, propane tanks, etc. Years back we had a .50bmg. .308 with ball ammo will do more damage to a car than a 45-70.
  5. Will watch tonight - assuming this refers to the battle in the Tora Bora mountains. They had him cornered and cut off. Sourced from guys on the ground, numerous books, testimony, etc. they had him and were essentially told to let him go and he slipped through the Pakistan border where he remained until his elimination.
  6. Watched last night - I'd heard of it, bit it was wild how many people were obsessed with finding it. Fun watch. Not too long. 100% the sketchy old blonde was banging him.
  7. In Texas .357 or .44mag make more sense. Animals are not too big, the ammo is much cheaper, especially using .38special, and it's just more fun to shoot. 45-70 can get expensive.
  8. I think I might still have those speakers?
  9. 45-70 vs an old toilet at the brush pit at the ranch. GD that is a fun gun. Not mine, it's a friends but I always make him bring it and I buy the ammo and clean it like it's mine after. Whopped a doe with it a few years back.
  10. IMG_1349.MOV
  11. .357 out of a longer barrel completely transforms the characteristics - meaning it's coming out a lot hotter. With handloads, you can get pretty damn close to the same ballistic performance of a 30-30. Deer, pigs, etc. they are all on the menu at under 100yds and with the weight of the rifle, recoil is negligible.
  12. Buy a manual transmission car - zero theft issues from these fucking kids
  13. Or trophies....
  14. "Scared Straight" - isn't there a show about this? Either way, my guess is that because this is a string of what seem to be coordinated car jackings, there are other people involved. Jacking cars is about moving cars. That takes coordination and infrastructure to an extent. That screams gang activity. With a pistol? Recruit a couple of younger kids, if they get caught they can hide behind their age. The gun moved things to another level - so my only concession would be to integrate sentencing with their ability to implicate the larger gang activity that is obviously recruiting these kids. They still killed someone, so that means decades, not years of jail time, but if they could tie this back to organized crime, then it's worth having the conversation.
  15. Mexico has what many are expressing as a solution for minors. Under 12, they are essentially unable to charge them with almost any crime. 12-18 is the age that they are sent to "correctional facilities". This is why the cartels use them for their "sicarios" or other aspects such as lookouts, runners, etc. They get caught and because of their age, there is little the state can do. They do a minimal sentence, and they're back out on the streets. Until they turn 18, there's not much the state can do and the cartels/gangs exploit this to the fullest. So fuck all that. You do big boy shit, you can do the big boy time and face the consequences. Coordinated car jacking, with a gun, and then murder when someone dares to try and keep their car from being stolen, checks that box.
  16. RATS!!!! Fucking rats. Little shits chewed up the wires to the fuel injectors - causing it to run like I'm going over continuous speed bumps and shake when idling. Also cause it to throw all those error warnings, etc. I'm taking up falconry and declaring a Jihad on those little fukers.
  17. Yep, I use both. Salt is also good for grease. Keeps it out of your drain which can be a big problem. I have a bevvy of pans, and get a little OCD on their use, which foods they are used for, etc.
  18. Watched last night - holy hell it was great!
  19. Or just salt and a few paper towels. I cook everything on cast iron. I've had mine for a decade +/- now and she's just now fully broken in. I also have my g-mothers cast irons that are smooth as glass at the ranch. I have a big jar of salt from Costco and just pour in a little, and work it around with a towel. I usually de-glaze with a little water, then finish off with a salt scrub, then rinse. Good to go.
  20. Not so much shrewd as more relentlessly trying to beat you down again and again for the lowest possible price/rate/etc.. 100% correct about zero loyalty.
  21. Yes. It's still under the school of Liberal Arts. The "dismal science", it's essentially the philosophy and quantification of decision making. Supply/demand, all that fun stuff.
