  1. If only we had, I don't know - a fucking three star on his own team to compare his production to.....
  2. Who the fuck over the last few pages is talking about Ewers. It's devolved into another Simms/AW comparison and Simms under/overperforming. Simms had a decent, but no great career. very 3*-esq. Then you shit down your leg with 3* star comparisons over modern recruiting rankings when you had a fucking three star outplaying him while he was on campus. Modern rankings would have Simms rated as a high 4*, low 5*. A rating he clearly never came close to fulfilling.
  3. You fucking walked right into this one didn't you. This entire fucking thread is about Applewhite vs Simms. Simms vs a fucking THREE STAR RECRUIT on his own damn team. Who many, many people see as outplayed him and outperformed him during their respective times at the school.
  4. His tenure and accomplishments relative to his recruiting rankings and pedigree can be objectively viewed as less than overwhelming. He performed on campus and in games as you would expect a very solid 3* to perform if you look back at his tenure at the school. This happens to a lot of highly rater players, who can also be said to under-performed, or even disappointed relative to their initial hype. This is also a sports message board - talking about player performance. It's almost all subjective
  5. If you reload, just load up a few FMJ's and see how pigs they'll zip through!
  6. Ugh, I think I'm still hungover from that shit-tastic game/season....
  7. Live in Frisco. Saw Swoopes at the Kroger on Legacy & Lebanon years back when we spent a brief stint with the Cowboys. Yelled out "SWOOOOOOPS" from across the produce section and flashed the horns. He smiled. Flashed them back. The end. Always liked the guy.
  8. Or that Simms utterly and absolutely owned aggy soup to nuts. Lit them on fire and shit on the ashes
  9. Yeah, I was there. Only thing that I can remember topping it in person was the VY comeback against Ok St. That was electric!!!!
  10. Was that the Ok State game when Texas got ass fucked by the refs and the defensive holding penalty on Poona?
  11. Not on such a stage. Win, and the team is in. Coupled with a heartbreaking comeback that fell short....it was agonizing.
  12. "Maybe" - if he doesn't shit the bed against CU in the championship and Texas goes to the MNC, he's idolized. Then Major orchestrates a hell of a comeback, then balls out again in the bowl game and his reputation is set. It was the bowl game at the Cotton Bowl when AR shredded his knees that things changed. He rehabbed all summer, so Simms got the nod to practice with the 1st team and why Simms was the started going into his season.
  13. I think it was more that he was a local kid who'd been a Texas fan since childhood who came in on the tail-end of some historically bad QB play
  14. He was overrated considering how much adoration he received. We all knew Swoopes, Heard, etc. were limited and failed early and often....paving a long road of expectations and hope. Sam performed marginally better and everyone went full aggy-savior, putting this guy on a pedestal way above his actual performance.
  15. So he's trolling Trump by trolling BB&B? Got it. At least they agree on something
  16. I'd call baylor. Boy do I have a deal for you....
  17. Oh, come now - you're so good at the Godwin label argument. Going back to W. It's your thing.
  18. So we've moved on from Gavin Newsome doing the exact same thing because a struggling company dared to state why they are leaving a certain state. Cool. Or prior examples going back decades. And, to be fair you also have a favorite book
  19. They picked a fight "first"? They never picked a fight at all. When companies leave markets - they state why. So you have no issues with Gavin inserting himself into the conversation with snarky insults because of why they stated that they are leaving for states with better economic/regulatory environments? As for trolling businesses? The WH has been trolling businesses going back to the 30's. This idiotic rebranding has erased over $90M in market value and $200 in capitalization.
  20. Those are two different accounts. But i get the point of the WH trolling CB. But that's what it is, trolling. As Newsome did with BB&B. They called out that they are leaving the state due to regulatory issues and state difficulties. They never directly called Newsome out, who then...trying to be "Trumpish", decided to go after them directly.
  21. You sure about that? That Trump called it "woke" directly?
  22. It's not political to me - it's rehashed corporate fuckery when a new "leader" comes in and feels the need to put their fingerprint on worthless shit that doesn't need changing. You want to get most patrons attention, start selling even cooler shit in the gift shop. Contract with RTIC or YETI. Start selling fishing and outdoor gear. Take a page out of the modern hunting apparel playbook and brand cool hunting gear/clothing like Carhart and Dickey's did. Shit, I'd rock a camo Cracker Barrel shirt during dove season. Cater to the rural "frat bros" and red dirt country kids that could make CB "cool" again.
  23. National importance? Seems he's trolling them and the stupidity of such a trivial change that subsequently tanked their stock. Or did you also take umbrage with Gavin Newsome trolling Bed bath & Beyond for moving out of state? I will fight you.....;)
  24. Nothing like a simple plan involving "rolling back regulatory barrier and bureaucrats". Tell me how it goes Then change the law and get back to us on your progress This is simplistic. I'm talking about city designs, specifically post WWII sprawl and the advent of the Federal-Aid Highway act. Highway location and designs, infrastructure all geared for the automobile and cities zoned specifically to separate residential, commercial, & industrial specifically because everyone had cars. If you want to pitch this in the much more congested and older NE cities, be my guest. So you want to bring back coal-fired steam engines. Great point.
