More straightforward answer - maybe? I mean, I own 5 acoustics, for me the answer is yes. Takamines are nice guitars, often times cheaper acoustics sound surprisingly good, the "worth" of it is relative. But if you play regularly and enjoy it, and especially if you enjoy guitars themselves, I would say yes - start thinking about what you'd like in a solid wood acoustic guitar. Get yourself a Nazareth (made in Pennsylvania) Martin, a Taylor, or a Gibson. What kind of stuff do you play, where do you play in the house, what is the takamine (pics), is there any model you've been thinking about at all?More straightforward answer - maybe? The takamine is an e series from probably 2001 or so. Pic with a lot of finger prints
I used to play a lot, had a shitty college band. Now it’s a few times a week in my office or the back porch. I’m not sure on a model, but I want it to look unique. Humingbird is one of my grails.- 3

I have a laminate top Tak acoustic, and have a decent bank built up potentially for a solid top. Worth it? recommendations? I've got around a grand plus or minus. I could spend $4K, but I just pluck around the house, so that doesn't really make sense to me.

hall pass on that one
Ok, but what is not shown in the pic (I guess I could have framed it better) is that three spots closer to the store, the lot was packed 12 cars deep, every spot taken. Still might be a hall pass, but the guy didn't even try, and I judge him for that. I also judge you for giving him a hall pass.

Was at a guitar shop in town picking up a few things, and this douche, affliction t-shirt asshole pulled in no fucks given. Granted it was fairly empty back where he parked, but I asked if he wanted to straighten it up a bit, and he gave me the bird. Grade A asshole

I haven't done it in a long time, but when I was probably 13, I climbed over the rail of the second story, and walked down the outside of the 3" section of the stairs that stuck out beyond the rail, and stepped off onto the top of the TV back when TVs came in big wooden cabinets. I knocked a picture over, which woke up my parents. Apparently, they tried to wake me up, and I told them to leave me the fuck alone, I just was going to make some nachos.

Smoked andouille, some left over bacon grease, simmered for 3 hours, fuck it was good. Seriously the best I’ve ever had.
If only I could figure out a way to put it on some nachos or naoche, either way -

This has been a while back, but my FIL fell asleep at the wheel and tried to park in a garage down the street from his house. He wasn’t drunk, just narcoleptic. No injuries.

Slight change of subject. I've got a toilet sitting on tile that isn't level. It moves if you move. How do I fix this? Cut the tile out from under the base and re-seat it? It sounds like there is a small drip going on too, but I'm getting a new flapper, which may help with that, but I replaced it 2 years ago, so I don't know if it is the flapper or the seating.
Any ideas?

I just finished this peg board for our collection. May need to double up the size of it soon.

That's some crucial information. I'd probably buy 25 pounds of it right now if I could.
I’ll ask her if they are still making it today. She hasn’t left her house in Nederland since March, but here is the contact info I have last. According to her it is the same people. My taste comparison, fucking awesome but a little spicier than the old Nicks. I love it, my 6 year old daughter evidently doesn’t have enough coon ass in her blood, but my 9 year old son ate damn near as much as me.

It isn’t a wax cup beer and fletchers corn dog, but fuck it is good.
It’s half time and OU still sucks!- 1

Too lazy to find the golden triangle thread, but this morning the reserve stock of my Nick’s Boudain went on the smoker. My grandmother knows them, and they still make it out of their house, well pre-COVID they did, not sure about now.
Fuck OU!- 2

Someone ran over one of my boulders in my front yard and broke a few chunks off, so I went to the Ring to see if I could figure out who did it. What I found was this gem. We had some snacks sitting out for delivery people and USPS as a thank you for keeping things going during this pandemic. At the end you can see the van run over the boulder, must have been too excited about his snack.
Can't figure out how to embed.

Got my first Kizer during the blade HQ sale a few weeks ago. Good EDC. A tad small, but I love the blade shape. I’m a sucker for a sheepsfoot

Have you had a punch-cut cigar "poop" on you yet?
That's pretty much the defining moment when you decide whether you truly prefer a punch.
I would encourage people to fiddle around with LFD's various chisel tips when looking for something new. Some people really like the V-cut with them, though I worried that it might cause "pooping" and didn't press my luck too often.
I have no idea what a "pooping" cigar is. I guess I've just been good at punching to avoid it.

My sister is a buyer for Academy, and has been tasked with finding a vendor for face coverings. They can't keep them in stock. They need them obviously, but would prefer a company that does a full line of fishing/hunting clothing they could also roll out to their stores. I've suggested Laguna Madre and Huk, but are there any others you guys know of that might have the capacity?
No pics of sister you dirty fucks

Was just looking for this thread earlier today.
Have recently gone all in with Cubans. Managed to build up a decent collection (about 300 or so sticks). My wife thought we should pick up new hobbies during COVID. Not sure this is what she meant!
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkHow do you like the V cut? I've never had a V cutter? My preference now for anything other than a toro is a punch

Did this thread not make the jump or did I just not find it? Either way, doing west coast zoom call (video off) the right way

It's spread by droplets containing the virus which we emit in our exhalations and coughs and sneezes. If there's no/not enough filtering and a person sneezed near an air intake, that is potentially a mass exposure event.
Which coincidentally is why wearing a mask is so critical, because even a cloth mask can contain the droplets
BOOM Air intake for my AC zone is also in my office. I'm golden for now. Others may be fucked if I get the Rona, but I think I'm safe.
