  1. Man I have a bad case of Gibson fever. I've been kicking around the idea of getting a new acoustic for months now and haven't pulled the trigger. I think I've decided the SJ-200 is too damn expensive, but the J-45 and the Hummingbird sure are pretty awesome. If I decide to go with the J-45, the local shop has a Cherry one that plays really really well. red acoustic though? Then on the flip side, I like the inlay on the fretboard of the hummingbird a lot.

No offense to anyone, but those Gorilla watches are awful.

Its like Hublot, Richard Mille and Invicta had a three way, and somehow ended up making a baby Gorilla watch.

  3. novice question here as we get into the holiday season. Are there any automatic fish feeders that are worth a shit with flake food? We have a 20 gallon tank with 6 freshwater fish (Tetra and Rasbora) that we feed flake food. Over Christmas we will be gone 10 days, and I've gotta figure something out to feed them.

Mind saying what patio is running?

Hard to say because on top of this, we are demoing and re-pouring our driveway area, ripping out some more existing stuff, doing some work on exterior doors and windows etc... Rough math, the patio piece of it is about $100 I think.

Nice. Im in the design process right now, and we are debating between 15 to 18 x26. Difference in width will cost a bit more, but we aren't sure if we need that much. I'm pushing for 16 wide, with about 28 inches on the side reserved for counter top, grill and TV wall space. I mapped it out in our yard with orange soccer cones last week and the 18 just seems like overkill. However, your design has a lot more built-in stuff under it and a finished wall, so I think it will make more sense to go extra wide.

Do you have any plans for a sound system? If so, where are your speakers going?

I debated going smaller as well, but decided that since I'm going to do the project, I would rather err on the side of being too big than regret not going big enough later.  As for the sound system, I'm not certain yet. Right now, I've got a couple rock speakers by the pool that are wired to the inside of the house. While they are putting down the pavers, I'm going to have them run conduit underneath from the covered area to the house, and fish some speaker wire through it in case I want to hard wire some to the house, but I'm also thinking strongly about going with a wireless setup throughout. Still pretty early on in that phase of the project though. I signed on the project yesterday, picked out the pavers and stone and ordered the grill and kitchen stuff. Plan is to be done late April or May we think, but its very dependent on the weather.

  6. Shit, sorry I missed this thread for a week or so. Count me in on whatever the group consensus is. I don't know what all the parts I want are, but I know I couldn't find a better group of guys to argue and come up with something for me than this crew.

Barrett-jackson is that week as well. (Usually)  good distraction if you get sick of watching golf with the aroma of piss and vomit in the air.

Yeah, there are typically a bunch of them at the same time as Barrett Jackson, but unfortunately, they are all about 2 weeks before I'll be there.

FWIW just plugged the same car into Carvana and Cargurus out of boredom, Carvana was 12% higher on the offer.

Just got off a Consumer to Dealer industry presentation, and CarOffer (the purchaser behind CarGurus is beating the Vroom and Carvana offers 90% of the time.

  9. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't check out cargurus.com  They own a used vehicle supplier for dealerships across the country, based in Texas CarOffer, Very similar experience to Carvana in that they come to you, verify the information you put in, and have the check there. I've run multiple vehicles through this platform, and Cargurus/CarOffer has always been the highest offer price.

I've been twice and fortunately both times I've had access to the waste management suite on 16. It's definitely crowded (highest attended stop on tour) Saturday being an absolute madhouse anywhere on the course.

The last year I attended Tiger was also playing and I think he was paired with Reed and Spieth, when that group came through on hole number three it was an absolute shitshow of a crowd following them as you could imagine.

Otherwise unless you're near an entrance or 16 you can usually find a spot and have a good time without too much of a crowd.

I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Ok, we're in. Hotel and Greenskeeper package purchased. Now we just need airfare and a few tee-times for earlier in the week. I'm pretty excited.

  11. Not sure where else to post this, but has anyone here been to the Phoenix Open? A buddy is setting up a trip for next February, and I would love to go, but I don't drink, so is this tournament just a complete drunk fest, or still fun if you aren't drinking?
