Only thing I'll add is, if you have the patience to do it I recommend cycling your tank before ever adding any livestock. I've done it both ways and yes, it is boring as hell but 1) It does teach you water chemistry and 2)Fish won't die, generally speaking.

Yep, I plan on doing this. My fish guy is going to test my water for me, and tell me when to add some fish, and teach me how to test it myself once it is ready.

I hate that there are practically zero keyboards available now that have the home keys in the exact center as they should be. They always have too much extra crap on one side that throws the whole thing off, and induces frequent typing of gibberish because you started tying in the wrong place.

Also, when they do this, they leave the touchpad in the center of the machine, so my fucking palm is always brushing by the touchpad. Fuck you Dell, don't force me to raise my wrists. My carpal tunnel, my choice!

  3. The kid is turning 10. He is really into science and animals. Budget is probably around $300, but could go higher if need be. My thought is, even if he doesn't really like it after a while, this is something I can see myself getting into.

  4. Ok guys, my kiddo wants an aquarium for his birthday, so I’m jumping into this hobby. Don’t really know shit, but from what I can tell the kits they sell at petsmart don’t have great equipment. I’ve got a great spot for a 20g tank, but what all do I need to put on my shopping list? I know he will want LED lights to change the color, but other than that, what all do I need to get?

  5. Fuck man, I remember in college trying my damndest to get my dad to buy this nice silver one they had on the lot, asking $125K if memory serves. He couldn't fathom spending so much on a car then. Now, soccer moms are driving around $80K tahoes.

I've been a lifelong BFG AT fan. Multiple sets across multiple trucks over the years. I ventured off a couple times to try Toyo and Cooper and that only reinforced my BFG love but the lead time was 3 weeks for my Jeep and I was impatient. These Nittos so far are superior. If the mileage holds up I don't see any reason to go back.

I've got the same sentiment about my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They are now my go-to tire for sure. The set I have on now have just over 40K miles. I should get at least another 5K out of them before replacing them, so I'm a very happy camper.

  7. Anyone here ever played an acoustic with walnut back and sides? I've don't know anything about walnut as a tonewood, but looking at the Gibson SJ-200 studio guitar in walnut, I can get it for $1,500 cheaper than the typical maple back and sides of the standard SJ-200.

I can't find one in person to play around here, but I'm gonna keep looking.

What do you have in mind?

I want a new acoustic, and really dig the gibson's I've played. Now, whether I want to go with a 45, SJ-200 or Hummingbird, or maybe one of the Singer Songwriters, I still don't know. I also dig the sound of the martins, but damn they are boring to look at.

I’m going to play so many guitars before choosing the one. I made $4000 after fees and shipping. I’m not sure what to get but I know a hummingbird really sticks out to me.  But like I said I’m going to play acoustics and electrics

I'm in the same boat. We are selling my late FIL's house right now, and after that, new guitar shopping goes full force.

Can’t find the scratch. I’m listing it on reverb but man it fucking plays so good and the low end is like nothing I’ve ever heard. I’m in love also hand signs by Noel. Reason I’m gonna list it is because if someone offers me like 8k I’m taking that shit 4B4C9BBF-8B1E-4DF1-B8F5-6E0BFAFE3015.thumb.jpeg.d1d06d1fe3d55cb6cdf82f92b76f15e3.jpegD4CD1A15-29D5-4DF0-9C84-3B3358B62AD6.thumb.jpeg.4f3c39a863a87a3c7dcf61c2c3a62d61.jpeg644560B8-6D1E-4AD2-81FC-2B439192EB0E.thumb.jpeg.5b1375e123252910d9c90b0a815e462c.jpeg18045F6B-E3E2-4057-8FB1-13DBBE9D99E0.thumb.jpeg.0de6f9d9d2148d2308443c6b51a19d3a.jpeg

Man, I am starting to look for another acoustic, and a Gibson has been tops of my list. That guitar is bad ass looking man, I fucking love the mustache bridge on those.

There are four stages of attitude towards meetings, depending on where you are in your career.

    1. Why aren't I important enough to be invited to the meeting?

    2. Oh boy! I getting to go to the meeting!

    3. I would commit a felony to get out of this meeting.

    4. I'm the one calling the meeting.

    I'm currently in stage 3/4.

I am typically Stage 3/4, but this particular meeting was with the Board of our Parent Company, so I couldn't quite tell them to fuck off just yet.

  12. People who set an early morning in person meeting, then change it to 1:30pm about 10 minutes before it is supposed to start. I only got into the office about 30 minutes earlier, but having to wake up 30 minutes earlier is going to fuck up my whole day

Man, I try and stay away from repaired guitars.  Too many out there for a decent price that don't have that baggage.  YMMV.

That Everly brothers is pretty cool.  I find the bigger the pick guard, the more muffled the tone though.  Once again, you may not care.

What do you want to do?

really just sit on the back porch and play. I'm not going to gig, but I want something with a great tone, low action, and great looking. I struggle because Taylors sound amazing, but they are so boring looking. Thats why I kind of like Gibson, Alverez, Dean
