    1) Why did we replace the entire coaching staff this year?

    2) Who caused the need to replace the staff?

    3) What kind of results and improvement have we seen from that replacement staff?

    4) I think the social situation handling was great, but our athletic department is funded by winning, not how they handle social issues.

    5) If winning at sports is not a priority, which mean profitability, why are we paying CDC all that money.

Look, I firmly believe it boils down to money. Herman returning reduces it substantially in a lot of ways. The current issues in football are mostly of CDVs making. The pay increase after Georgia was, but Herman wasn't CDCs pick and that Georgia win came in a year we lost to Maryland.

So Herman is the cause of the issues. His returning is a choice by CDC.

That puts CDC in the hot seat as it will, ultimately, lose money for the university.

There is no logical reason to keep Herman, no fiduciary reason to keep Herman other than the buy out.

It may turn out you are right, but if you are CDC needs to be fired.

    1. Because they weren’t getting the job done and Herman had no choice lest the calls for his own head become louder.

    2. The fired coaches themselves as they weren’t getting the job done.

    3. None

    4. If the coaches didn’t address/support the social issues, they wouldn’t have any players to take the field

    5. We had one of our highest revenue years ever with Strong as the Head Coach for football and Shaka being Shaka. The Dallas Cowboys are the richest franchise in the world despite 5 playoff wins since 1996.

There is a huge fiduciary duty to keep Herman. We just paid off the last guy we bought out to hire him.

It's cool how you know exactly what coaches of other schools are and are not willing to do.

    Saban isn't leaving LSU

    Meyer is retiring Florida.

    Meyer is retiring at OSU.

You're insufferable and pointless with your worthless opinions of shit that you express as a known reality based on no actual fact, at all.

    We are done.

Take your meds and call it a night

Holy shit, this fucking crowd loves a project coach.

No more fucking "next big thing" coaches.

We need a "currently a proven commodity with the trophies in FBS as a head coach" to verify it coach.

    God damn this isn't complicated.

    Let’s see...

We’re not getting Dabo or Saban.  Brian Kelly isn’t leaving Notre Dame nor is Chris Petersen leaving Washington. Lincoln Riley could pull a boss move and flip to Texas, but I wouldn’t count on it. Maybe we can convince Mack to come back? Who fits this bill and why would they want to come to a program where they fire you every 3-4 years?

Dabo and Shanahan are incredibly stupid takes. Yes we can get Urban, if he wants to come. No, we won’t not hire him because of his past, which is shady at OSU and Florida, but not to the point we wouldn’t hire him. He’s a proven winner and the only coach that can consistently compete on both sides of the ball with Saban and Dabo.

We had Saban in 2013 and Mack fucked that deal up. Saban is cleaner than Urban, but the money that makes these decisions does not fucking care about character like some of you think. They’re not gonna hire Briles, Petrino or Kiffin, but they’ll hire Meyer. And they should have already put feelers out.

Herman can’t recover from this. He has the chops to pull off an OU upset. But he can’t finish better than 6-3 and can’t make the CCG. It will be like this every year under Herman and everyone knows it. An improvement over Strong but not the answer, and after now 11 years of this shit, we’d take Meyer in a fucking HEARTBEAT if he wants to come. Herman doesn’t have the chops with CDC or skins on the wall to avoid a quick firing and replacement.

We didn’t have Saban in 2013. If anything, Saban used us as leverage. Why would Saban leave a Championship level team in a town where he is King to untangle the mess that is Texas football? Especially when he was at the top of the college football mountain at a football powerhouse with no ego spats with his employer? It’s the same reason Dabo to Austin is a ridiculous suggestion.

What exactly is Herman recovering from? Mack Brown wasn’t winning the conference on the regular. What standard are you measuring the success of Texas football against? All this “we expect championships” talk is horseshit. We’ve won the Big 12 3X since it’s inception in 1996. Once was a major upset, once was a beating of epic proportions and once was by a cunt hair. Our last title was 11 years ago. Our record against our rival has been shit in the last 20 years. 2004 - 2009 was an anomaly, not the norm.

Jimbo isn’t doing shit with aggy. Hiring a coach with skins on the wall doesn’t guarantee success. Meyer has a tendency to coach for a few years and then leave on some trumped up medical issue. I’m more concerned about having to hire a new coach in 5 years regardless of his success or failures because he gets tired of coaching. There is no quick fix.

This is a shit take.  Duggan had a great game.  He's not going to play like that most weeks and TCU will be lucky to be a .500 team.  If Duggan ever has a season, numbers wise, better than Sam, I'll be shocked.  This game was typical TCU v Texas in the Big 12 era, Patterson coaching circles around our fucking idiots.

We seem to hear that refrain a lot. Against BYU. Against Maryland. Against West Virginia. Against Iowa State. Against KSU. Against TCU...

All of them seem to have a QB that plays the game of their career against our defense and shit the bed the rest of the season.

The year Urban is picked up by USC or some other school that isn't fucking stupid enough to sit through another season of shit.

LOTSA people opted out this year due to Covid. I opted out before Covid.

If Tom comes back, they aren't. Book it.

What period are you visualizing where Texas is an Elite program? From 2004 - 2009 we had a damn good run. ou has won the conference more times in the last 3 years than Texas did with Colt and VY combined.

Which is exactly what people said about Herman.

I don't want another coach that hasn't proven with actual hardware, that they can win a NC.

So Jimbo to Aggy must be paying dividends.

for my money fletcher's without the state fair atmosphere is just an overpriced corn dog.  you can get 18 Bar S corn dogs for $5 at HEB.  taste just as good as fletcher's if you're not able to laugh at toothless sooners.  if you want you can even pour your own lukewarm beer into a wax cup.

The fact that you can get 18 Bar S hotdogs for $5 should have tipped you off that your opinion is wrong.

  9. As a Long Islander, I’m frustrated. I’m paying 2 balls and a kidney in taxes without any real benefit from the city. I have to go in the office sparingly. But I could just as easily jump on a plane from Dallas and use points for a hotel as the need arises. (Besides that whole quarantine thing) Wife needs to go to the office about 2X a week. We went to the boardwalk only once during the summer because it’s just sad right now. I have zero motivation to take the LIRR on the weekend to no point or purpose. It’s just serves as a stark reminder of how we’ve fallen.

Our house value has increased $178,000 in the last 5 years. That would be great If we were looking to sell.

Toyota Corolla. Plentiful on the used market and reliable as hell because Japanese.

We bought our oldest a 2020 Corolla last summer. With the care package, which covers bumper to bumper and oil changes for 3 years, I think it was $22K. I’d look at upping your budget a little for peace of mind. A $10K mid-high mileage vehicle will probably have $10K in repairs and maintenance over 72 months if you are financing. The cost almost evens out.

I used Carvana to find my Mustang, which I got used. Was pleased with the experience.
