The election official made a comment that officials, including gop/dem watchers decide voter intent. Sound like Giuliani needs to be in that room to help with voter intent.

Yes. You have a rep from both sides decide intent as monitors. If they can’t agree, it becomes a challenged ballot. If intent is not clear, the office is voided and everything else is counted. Same thing with an over vote. If someone votes for a Biden and Trump, that office will be voided because of an over vote but the rest of the ballot will be counted if there are no further instances. If you select a Slate, no other votes will count as Slate prevails.

As far as the polls go, people are actively, intentionally lying to pollsters to distort results.  I think the profession of polling is yet another Trump cancer victim.  This is not a case of having to develop better models to address blind spots.  They have zero value anymore.

Of course they are. If a candidate is polling high, it discourages people from voting because they think their vote is meaningless.

Why does this win suddenly keep us from hiring Urban? We either win out and get a crack at the B12 title and I cheer the entire way - and Herman is maybe STILL canned at the end of the season - or Herman trips over his dick against someone on our remaining slate and he's for SURE canned and we get to start a new era.

Where is Urban going in the meantime? I don't see the Cowboys firing McCarthy in the middle of his first season after Dak's ankle exploded. USC hasn't played a game yet. Auburn? Lol. Tennessee? Double lol.

If Urban wants the Texas job he can wait. I doubt we would have hired him midseason regardless of tonight's result.

If Herman wins the conference, he’s not getting canned. We don’t control our own destiny yet, but we’re close. There’s still a chance to polish this turd of a season if we win out. There is zero chance that he would be fired mid season, which is now.

Bumped into a buddy of mine today who has some connection to an assistant on Dodge's staff at Southlake. He told me Ewers' de-committing is 100% because he doesn't want to play for Herman. Fix the glitch and perhaps we get back in on Ewers.

He’s in the 2022 recruiting class. Herman is likely gone after this season. He could be gone after the 2021 season and Ewers still wouldn’t be on campus to play under Herman. That makes zero sense. He could have stayed committed and waited to see how things played out if that was the issue. At least until the end of this season.

I think Tom should be gone but the frustrating part is he is so close to winning so many games that we lost.  That being said you have such a talent advantage coaching at Texas should the games shouldn’t be that close right?  Data points needed:

no conference title in four years

    1-4 vs ou

    1-3 vs tcu

    double bird at camera

not following orders regarding the eyes.

Any combination of the above is grounds for termination

We could just as easily be 1-4 as we could 5-0 this year. That’s Herman in a nutshell. We pay him to win those games, or better yet, win and leave no doubt. His saving grace is the he doesn’t get blown out like Mack did. Doesn’t make me feel any better about losses. Especially when they come against teams we are supposed to play our 3rd stringers in the 4th.

That would depend...if suddenly getting pissy because Tom Hicks tells you that he has an agreement in place to bring Saban in as your replacement so you can ride off into the sunset and you scuttle the whole thing....then on top of that when you know you are leaving, you waste all of the head coach in home visits so your successor won't have any....

If you got fired from a company you revitalized the brand for, wouldn’t you be pissed? Mack, for all his faults did take us to 2 title games and there should have been a 3rd. And we showed him the door because he was putting up the same results as Herman. I’d be bitter too.

  7. And? Throwing another TD on the board would do what for you? We were clearly going to win and we don’t need style points because we’re not sniffing any sort of playoff. The only people that care are the gamblers. WGAS what ou would do?

This story, taken on its face is full of shit. That is rough country. It’s hot in the day and cold as fuck at night and she had nothing? Walked out with rescuers under her own power? Yeah, bullshit.

She owes money all over town, including to known pornographers.

The way the scam is gonna work is they are gonna vote (mail or early), then large groups of them will get in line at dem heavy places to ask time consuming questions or ask for “verification of my vote” at dem heavy voting precent to clog shit up.  They will be out in full force on election day.

If only there was a way to avoid this conspiracy and vote via a mail ballot.

Every single person in the know, coaches and media, knows herman sucks. There are no optics to be concerned with here.

Understood. I’m saying the optics of buying out a coach for losing 4 games and winning a lower tier bowl instead of using funds to pay administrative staff to save $13.1 million.

With mack a lot of the bmds wanted to keep him. Nobody really likes tom. I don't see one person taking up for him.

Its a really really hard time to fire him with the shit going on at the 40, with layoffs. He is here until 2021 sadly unless kansas happens again. And then who will step up for the buyout?

Mack won shit a few times. Backing into the Sugar Bowl because your rival made the CFP isn’t quite the same level of achievement. I do agree with you though. It would take a failure of epic proportions to have Herman fired this year. The only ripple in that is if Urban makes it clear that he wants the job, would take the job if Herman was let go and has a limited timetable for the offer before he explores other options. We recently laid off a shitload of UT employees. The optics of buying out a coach for making the Texas Bowl in a COVID year would be pretty bad. Not to mention, we are losing some funding for the stadium construction. This isn’t a Charlie situation where we end up with losing records. I half forgot that we barely beat KU last year.

Why? It’s opinion piece that draws its own conclusions under the guise that Sam feels abandoned and isolated. It states that the locker room is divided and uses the EOT photo as evidence. Sam didn’t say anything remotely close to what is claimed, which is why very few quotes are cited. It’s also inaccurate. There were a couple of other players that stayed on the field after the game that aren’t shown in the now infamous photo.

This applies just as much to people who have gotten used to The Eyes. A shame you don't realize that.

    - The lyrics are directly connected to a maxim from Robert E Lee (quoting someone who adapted Lee's words to Texas specifically).
    - The song was originally sung at a minstrel show.

These aren't lies. And those who historically-established facts make it reasonable for black Longhorns to be uncomfortable with the song.

You can choose to focus on some not-true things that people criticizing The Eyes have said (claiming that "The Eyes" refer to slaveowners/catchers and somesuch things) but the fact that SOME of the critiques are untrue doesn't negate the historical facts I put in the above bullet points.

It's tough. It sucks. I wish the history wasn't the history.

I do realize that. Perhaps you will realize that there is a difference between having a dialogue on how to change a culture and taking dictation like a hostage negotiator. This issue was supposedly put to bed after meetings with the administration. The players are entitled to their opinion. I am entitled to mine. If the goal is to have unity, the “submit or else” tactic isn’t effective. Many positive compromises were made to address legit concerns. You can take up for black people/players and call detractors racist all you want. Up until a few months ago, supporting the EoT wasn’t even a controversial issue. Go ring your “shame” bell somewhere else.
