I’ve laid out precisely what CDC should have and for all we know may have done. I do not believe we are in negotiations with Urban. It’s either done and on hold till the end of the season or it’s off. My point is if CDC has made the decision to hire a new coach then he needs to cut Herman loose after the Kansas game or sooner if it’s canceled.

And I have a couple of interns combing this thread in shifts to enlighten me. CDC isn’t going anywhere. UM has sailed because the man is done coaching. He has health issues. He tried to ignore them once, then OSU happened. Now he’s happy. Money can’t buy everything, apparently.

Herman will be our coach next season. Hopefully this episode scared him. Our big dicks aren’t going to buy him out and end up with Fickle. They swung for the fences and popped out.  No shame in that. What do you expect to happen? CDC should be on notice because our top candidate didn’t pan out?

It we hire a new coach for 2021 and Herman is still employed Saturday night then cdc should be fired. I’d fire Herman today and give the reigns to Ash. But if he wants Herman to finish the season that’s tolerable especially if he gave his word he would do so

Blow me. UM said no. What is he supposed to do?

Now that baylor has finally finished, what r predictions?  I say tomorrow morning, after 9: 00, then announce urban Monday at regular press conference time.

They aren’t announcing shit until after the KU game. It’s a fantasy to think otherwise.

Sounds like regardless of what anyone says today, we aren't hearing anything credible until tomorrow after our game.

As far as coaches in general, is Texas completely painted into a corner here with Meyer?
I've only heard that BMD's raised money to buyout Herman for Meyer. What happens if we cannot get Meyer? Are the funds for the buyout no longer there to rid ourselves of Herman? I've only heard that Herman is out, but it seems like he's out with Meyer coming on board; what happens if Meyer isn't on board? Where are the funds for the buyout coming from or are they still there regardless?

Another thought, if Ohio State doesn't have a good enough resume and Cinncy can jump them for a spot in the playoffs, then it's a lot easier to try to pull coaches from tOSU before a bowl game rather than a playoff run. Just spitballing here.

We're 100% painted into a corner. Tom knows he is a dead man walking. If UM says no, we aren't going to buyout Herman and insert another up and comer. That means Herman stays at a place where his employer tried to oust him and he has lost support of the fanbase. It would be an awkward situation at that point.

The chick had the same dress on she has on this morning.  I guess she could come in the night before to do it then go home a few hours to sleep before she has to get up at 3am to do the show at 6am.  Also UM had on different clothes on so he would've had to change from yesterday to put on the rouse. It was live brah.

Maybe she did the walk of shame

and say we dont get urban? what if we end up with someone like freeze or cristobal? still apply?

You don’t have this much smoke unless it’s on track to getting locked up. UM doesn’t want to answer questions about speculation. If he wasn’t interested, he would say that he is happy with what he is doing and is not coming out of retirement to quash the speculation. Everyone in the free world know that talks are being had. The bridge with Herman has been burnt to the ground. He wouldn’t want to stay with all this activity anyway. Who wants to coach for a school that tried to oust you and got rejected? So we’re locked in on a buyout. We’re not spending $25 million plus to hire our 2nd or 3rd pick. If this wasn’t getting done, CDC would be a hell of a lot more vocal to save face and reassure our commitment to Herman instead of being radio silent. It would be a huge face plant for this not to happen at this point.

clearly if you call HSB and ask for Coach Meyer they'll say no one by that name.  But the poster with the video who has the room number can call and ask to be connected to that room. TellCoach Meyer, "Welcome to the 40 acres."

    Try “Urban Cowboy”

OK FOLKS. From a text thread I’m on, a Big Dick Cigar just threw us a bone and said “I’ll be shocked if Herman isn’t on our sidelines next year.”

Dallas guy. Guaranteed he was at the recent Dallas pow wow. I’m officially on the It’s happening train.

What are you trying to say?

To be clear, the word was Matt Campbell's camp had agreed to the conceptual offer floated, provided Herman was shown the door. Nothing concrete, and nothing that couldn't have been total bullshit either. That info has since been referenced by guys like Nahlin and Burton, so I assume it's somewhat reliable if actual journalists/pseudo-journalists are alluding to it.

Nonetheless, it's never like I'm in the room. We should all take anything floated during times like this with as many grains of salt as we may need, as nothing's real until there's ink. There are more ways to float bullshit with an agenda today than at any time in history.

All of this considered, I view the premise of letting Herman go about BAU at this point as idiocy. Either Meyer is taking the job or he isn't. If he is, he's got the deal he needs already. If he isn't, the next guy is competing with other guys and UT has more leverage. With any of those outcomes, Herman is still fired and therefore able to do less damage to the program. My only counter to any of that is that CDC seems pretty good at his job, and we cannot see the full picture, so this must be necessary and the right move. I can't handle the concept of another incompetent hire or Herman continuing relevance at UT beyond next week, so I'll go with optimism.

I’m clueless as to how the search would go, but I find it implausible that we would spend a truckload of $ to buyout Herman’s contract just to hire another mid-tier coach to replace him. You don’t spend Ferrari $ to drive a Toyota Corolla. If UM turns us down, I think it’s more likely that Herman coaches another year. There’s no one else worth spending the buyout $ for. It will get chalked up to COVID.

    Maybe I’m wrong.

I really don’t care about whatever is said at the press conference, but I still don’t understand the logic of not firing Herman until his replacement is a done deal.   Just get him out like we should have done after the OU game.  The rest of the season means nothing (if we even play the games), and his presence is probably a net negative for recruiting even if his replacement is uncertain.

Other schools aren’t waiting anymore to fire guys in season, especially now that we have the early signing day.   This isn’t 1970, and it’s not like we’re worried if we fire him without a replacement lined up that we can’t find someone to take the job.

So we pay all that $ to have UM publicly turn us down? We're supposed to see if Fickle wants to be Plan B? Fuck no. You back up the Brinks truck only if you are guaranteed to get your guy.

Odds are that Herman will be coaching us next year.

Bunch of sandy vaginas in here.  What else is Herman supposed to say?  He knows his time is up and he's waiting for his replacement to be inked, he'll be fired before NSD1.

I think there will be a lot of disappointed fans in the next few weeks. Everything is predicated on UM wanting to 1. Coach again 2. Coach at Texas. If he turns us down, we are not buying out Herman's expensive contract for Luke Fucking Fickle. So now we have a contracted coach, that most of the fanbase wants gone, that knows we tried to axe him.

This post gives me hope because we all know Burton has Texas side sources. I don’t have visibility of the Texas brass on this. I would think that if Meyer has really re-considered coaching again, Texas would know by now and would be moving on to other candidates. Given they haven’t (per Burton), that would imply they are just down to final money details and Meyer is using continued retirement as a negotiating tactic. Hope so. As I’ve said for weeks, I thought he was ready to come until this recent wrinkle.

Or it could mean that UM is done with coaching and has said “no”.

So all the lounges on my outbound airport closed, ostensibly because of stricter gov reg that went into play 2 days ago.

Then apparently there are no lounges around Z/A gates in Frankfurt, which I could have swore I've been in many times.

Hometown is the best hands down.

    Other NYC:
Mighty Quinn’s(multiple locations)is pretty good and has some of the best sides of any BBQ joint If you’re into that.
Hill Country(DC and NYC)- way too inconsistent
    Dinosaur-LOL, wings are good there.
Morgan’s- heard it started decent and went to shit.
Fette Sau- same as above, started good and went downhill
Mables in Williamsburg is ok at best, esp if you’re drunk.
John Brown KC style in LIC is actually decent and a hidden gem.
Brother Jimmy’s- lol, you go for the drinks.
    Blue smoke- “upscale”, mediocre.
Never tried Arrogant Swine in Bushwick.

    Ahem...Dallas BBQ?

Just winning out won’t save tom. Anyone with eyes can see in year 4 we look like a transition team with a coach in his first year. What a fucking zzzzz game.

I'd like to believe that, but the optics of firing a coach with only 2 losses will be considered, things may not happen like we want.

What optics? He lost to .500 TCU and a rebuilding ou team with a freshman QB. He should have lost to Tech. 5 out of 7 games were won/lost by 1 score. When you pay a coach $5m+, you are buying wins and larger margins of victories. Herman has consistently failed to deliver. Not to mention, none of our players appear to be coached up outside of Ossai.

    Lmao "good".

They are only #5 cuz of covid. I would laugh my ass off if they make the playoffs but have to concede because of an outbreak.

They’re not making the playoffs. They won’t even win their division if they win out unless Bama drops 2 games. ND, tOSU, Bama and Clemson will make the playoffs.

    Not sure what happens if:

    • 4-way tie between isu, okie lite, blOU, TEXAS
    • 3-way tie between isu, blOU, TEXAS

The Big 12 really backed itself into a corner this year. Doesn’t really matter to us. We win out and we’re in. Unbelievably, we are in the driver’s seat. We would hold the tiebreaker over everyone but ou, who also has 2 conference losses. But, if ISU’s only remaining loss is to Texas, things get messy. ISU would hold the tiebreaker over ou. But OSU would hold the tiebreaker over ISU. If ou wins Bedlam, they would hold the tiebreaker over OSU, but not ISU.

So our opponent would be ou, OSU or ISU. Beating ISU and OSU made the TCU loss irrelevant since they aren’t challenging for a spot.

  19. In the end, I don’t think it means much. Biden certainly has a better Presidential decorum than Trump does. But, Trump will be tweeting non-stop and rallying his supporters. So I don’t think we’re close to revitalizing our image as a country. I’m worried about our Middle East policy and my retirement as the stock market will surely take a dip. This elections shows how divided the country still is. Hopefully we can start unifying, but that’s probably a pipe dream. We’re too far gone.
