  1. The Vanishing Point throwback there was perfect. Like I thought I was going to see Barry Newman at one point. I cannot emphasize strongly enough how good the car chase is in IMAX.
  2. I saw it on Imax this weekend and loved it. I might sneak out of work later this week and catch it again. I loved that for all the freaking out Di Capro was doing, Benico Del Toro was just calmly moving hundreds of migrants offsite while also managing his hippy friend having a total meltdown. And in the end, the only thing he caught was a DUI.
  3. The Oregon player knew exactly where that ball was going. Nice job Penn St. putting that gem on film.
  4. Eat shit Franklin.
  5. The refs giving PSU a free time out when Allar was shaken up prior to 4th down was big.
  6. Trump shut the government down in 2018-2019 just because and he definitively lost. Like I think the flight attendants threatened to strike and ground the airlines and he finally capitulated. Depending on how you work the math of the 2012-13 financial crisis, the GOP brought the country to the brink and ended up getting a better deal than if the Bush tax cuts had just expired, mostly because Obama kinda lost his nerve and did the “Democrats will always do the right thing” bit. Although the GOP was pissed at the time, they actually “won” in a policy sense.
  7. Also, my math is off. Assuming Fetterman is a yes, Schumer needs 5+ himself, 6 if he’s going to vote no in and effort to save his hide against AOC In 2028. I just don’t see the point in shutting the government down for a week to then capitulate and have Trump drag his tiny nuts across the party’s forehead. If you are in it, be in it. Make your stand and put it all on the line.
  8. There’s a couple of things at play: 10 democrats need to vote with Republicans to pass the continuing resolution. Fetterman is probably a yes, so the number is 9. If Schumer asks for 8 plus himself, he’ll get it. The Democrats greatest leverage also comes with real risk. Shut the government down, and leave it closed. Like for months. Or after the 2026 elections. Let Voight Fire everyone. Then dig in and wait for the repercussions. And I mean all the way. Be the Russians before the Grand Army and burn it all because you know your cause is right and give the GOP nothing. But it requires stones I don’t think the Democrats have. And it risks the end of the filibuster and hard, rather than soft Autocracy.
  9. The way my leg counsel explained it: This Supreme Court: Congress needs to give clear, unambiguous guidance or it’s not real. Congress: Independent Commissions are independent and the president can only fire their members for clear literal malfeasance. This Supreme Court: Well, that’s just like your opinion, man.
  10. We live in a high end condo community and love it. Just clean out the fridge and roll. You want to do due diligence on making sure the building is maintaining its reserve fund and putting in the necessary maintenance so you don’t catch a massive assessment. Ever since that condo came crashing down in Florida, older buildings are finding their insurance has sck rocketed. The days of bottom barrel building fees are pretty much over.
  11. The Jimmy Buffet communities are supposed to be fucking wild. Like Jester on a Saturday night after a big win.
  12. This is probably been here before, and my favorite part is the mom has started an instagram that is just the video everyday, and let me tell you what, nothing will brighten your morning than this little girls laugh:
  13. Gotdamn there are some bootlickers on this site.
  14. So many great movies. He was lowkey the best Marvel villain in Winter Soldier.
  15. While this is reductive, his debate style kinda boils down to this when his opponent was just your league average college freshman:
  16. Barn doors, not French doors. Like that trashy lush has the class to install a French door…
  17. It me rn.
  18. I was annoyed Lanning was conservative today against Northwestern, but compared to this, the Ducks were 2001 Miami.
  19. You will get your first taste of where this is going this November in Virginia. A big win by the GOP, especially by Sears indicates a conservative realignment is really happening. OTOH, if the GOP loses a bunch of +10-12 seats, it could be an early sign Trump’s schtick is starting to wear thin.
  20. What if, and hear me out, he was a nut with a gun?
  21. It's what drives me batshit about the Democratic party and their consultants: They are STILL trying to reconcile some vision of Choamsky Leftist and Clintonian New Democrats into a coherent party platform. THOSE PEOPLE DON'T EXIST YOU IDIOTS.
  22. Its like I said the other day: Once Trump is off the political scene, these mush brains could easily swing to aggressive socialism/borderline Marxism. If the GOP thinks this group has anything in common with them other than the Racism, they are going to be in for a rough ride.
  23. There's a million inflection points, but for me, it was in 2016, when people decided they'd rather elect Donald Trump, who was manifestly wrong to be president by any objective measure, over the clearly competent and capable Hilary Clinton, because she was annoying. Including a lot of people on this board who later regretted that decision. Everything after that is spin, reaction, and rationalization.
