  1. Appraisal down, ASSessment up. That’s the way I like to fuck. its just a rhyme.
  2. Exited July calls at loss. Rolling Sept 550s now and feeling pretty good about it.
  3. futures are fun until they are not.
  4. prefixes. How do they work?
  5. What if this is the meteor?
  6. Probably a good guy.
  7. That's fair. Look our market is still the 800lb gorilla. We need a new normal vv China. If it takes some short term pain to get there, I am ok with that. If we can't execute that play due to incompetence, I think that we are basically in the same place we were before. Everyone knows (or should know) that it's all a house of cards. The market is fake news and has been for some time, way over inflated. Real estate, lofl. If shit gets really bad, we all go long cabrito (RIP El Azteca).
  8. Also 556 and seeds. Important part of the portfolio. I like the idea of a goat and some chickens too. But fn HOAs man.
  9. I don't think you are missing much. I think that that is basically correct. You asked for my thesis. Bet on warren, bet on solid dividends, trade like a cat in the near term. Stay the course with long term retirement portfolio. You brought up Japan lost decades, but that you don't seem to believe that is where we are heading with any conviction.
  10. Near term high volatility. Make money on both sides. By end of summer we are north of here. Get OTM Sept calls on the dips (e.g. last Friday). Shed the July calls ASAP on a bump. Those may be hosed. For long term investments, keep doing what you have been doing for the last 20 years. Averaging in.
  11. Good. BRK is my third largest holding in my trading account, behind free money (employer stock) and a 7%+ yield dividend payer.
  12. If you believe that that is where this is headed, there are market bets you can make that will secure a very comfortable retirement for you and throw off cash starting tomorrow. Let us know what positions you take.
  13. In God and Warren Buffet I trust. Everyone else can get a fucking hedge with the quickness.
  14. They sit on the sideline during periods of high volatility and whine on the internet?
  15. Also buying some stonks (IBRX).
  16. Agree. We're back to last Thursday level. I am existing SPY equity positions and just gonna ride July and Sept calls. Buying more BRK and dividend payers.
  17. Hey, there is always the world war backstop.
  18. Nor was the last. Look best against it at your own peril. We are seeing market action where 30 minutes of movement reflects months in a normal environment. Make money on the volatility. But get long over longer term, imo.
  19. Every single "crisis" has worked out to the upside with sufficient time horizon. The backstops are monetary policy and aircraft carriers. But maybe this time is different.
  20. Same place we were before that rally into close.
  21. Seems like a problem. We also have substantial dependency on china for our pharmaceutical supply chain. Like some of the real basics eg antibiotics. We need to return production capacity to Americans shores.
  22. Right, so those are just hedges and not just naked directional bets. You are effectively straddled at the risk of missing some upside, which in current environment makes 100% sense.
  23. Yeah. Picked up some sept calls into close on Friday. Dumped a portion today to take some money off the table. Riding the rest out. Put a gun to my head and I think we could see a couple more big upsides runs in that time frame (nothing this magnitude of course). Agree with this. I think directional plays are going to win only with a measure of luck involved due to the unpredictability. I think that a smarter position than the one I staked out at the end of last week is to straddle and sell off the wins on "both sides". If we can claw back to something like SPY 580-600 by the end of the summer I will probably take that up.
