  1. You don't know what you are looking at. You think QE was just wildly errant. Guys were coming free and he had to get rid of it quickly on quite a few of those wtf throws. You think Card was going to come in and somehow the LB that came completely unblocked or guys missing assignments was going to suddenly stop? QE sees the missed blocks and receivers not trying/running the right routes and he gets pulled for it? That will shake a guy's confidence as well as reinforce the "if it's not right on the money I'm not going for it" mindset by our receivers. Why the hell do you think Cain was getting yelled at on the sideline? You guys are always calling for a new guy only for the new guy to prove why he is sitting on the sideline. You would think you guys would learn by now that there is no magic elixir.
  2. Man you guys are way off. I don't think Ewers was hurt at all. I think it was a combination of rushed throws because guys were coming completely unblocked and receivers just absolutely dogging it, not willing to help out their guy. That's why I think that the Card thing is silly. Like what was his ball-holding ass gonna do? 42:00 Ewers lets one go and Worthy makes zero effort to go and get it. Just runs and sees its a little out of his reach and gives up. 42:35 Bijan goes out into the flat for a pass. On his release the DE runs right past him completely free. If he was looking he would know the ball has to come out quickly and be ready for it. QE throws it in the only place he can as quickly as he can. No help from teammate. Next play I am not sure what route Cain is running but the ball location has to go to his right shoulder or else possibly get picked by the safety. 112:48 Bijan misses his responsibility and the LB comes completely untouched causing this rushed throw. QE had a shallow crosser but even that would've been tough to get there. This one was on Bijan. 130:30 The three layer look that someone swore we didn't run. Blitzers comes completely untouched causing QE to have to try and sidearm something around him and hope Whit makes a play. 132:02 Sanders misses a block. Man in face where QE would throw causes to have to throw around him. Errant throw. 144:00 Just a complete lack of effort by worthy on the deep ball. Ball lands a little short and to the right of him by two yards. Go get the ball. 222:55 Ball is high and Worthy is trotting and makes no effort to jump and high point it. 234:30 Blitz and has to throw it away. 235:25 Ro runs a nice route but isn't expecting the ball which hits him right in the hands and he drops it 244:45 Watch Jones get put on his back causing QE to rush this throw. Even so he knows Worthy has his man over top so he throws it for him to come back to with plenty of air underneath it and as usual Worthy seems uninterested in making a play. Ewers was off but if you were paying attention a lot of it was because we were allowing OSU to speed him up/throw it too early, and in some instances he was trying to throw around a free blitzer. Some of you think Card was going to come in and make this stuff going on around him NOT happen. We know Card holds the ball longer than Ewers so he would've been sacked. Secondly, receivers weren't making an effort. Every ball isn't going to be perfectly in stride. Sometimes you have to make a tough catch and we simply didn't. We have to keep QE fairly clean and someone on the receiving corp not named J-Whit has to play with some effort and want to.
  3. You stray from what's working when it quits working. We saw an opportunity to run counter against their front. They adjusted and started stuffing it. We adjusted and went unbalanced. They adjusted and started creeping up. At that point we needed to hit on some throws to back them off and we couldn't. If you pull your starting QB you hurt his confidence. Simple as that. You guys memory of what Card can do is off. Sanders caught 6 balls for 76 and we targeted him more than that.
  4. And yet here YOU are, not realizing it's going to take a couple seasons to get where we wanna be.
  5. When you see the replay of where that ball was you are going to retract this statement. He misjudged it. It wasn't over his head it was a couple feet to his right. He catches that ball, and he should of, we aren't bumping this thread.
  6. If you don't think some of those balls were catchable then you are an idiot. Yes, QE was off but if we walked Card out there and those receivers were dogging it just as bad then the result is worse. A good defense creates turnovers. We had what should've been 4. They were easy catches that we dropped. That matters. We have exactly 1 stretch the field guy. He has to be out there or else we are trying to run our offense in a phone booth. J-Whitt gets what he gets BECAUSE X is out there not in spite of him. In the second half the Pokes spun down defenders into the box to stuff the running game. We even tried to go unbalanced like we did last week and it didn't work. So we had to throw it and they were sitting on the underneath stuff for the most part. Sark did start him with easy throws, and then when he saw he was off, he ran the ball at a much higher rate. However, when the Pokes adjusted we had to take what they were giving us. It's like you guys don't understand athletes. My daughter is soon to be a D1 level athlete. She is undersized so she has had to work harder than the athletes that are more naturally gifted. So because she is used to working hard she will take that same "try hard" attitude to whatever college she goes to. Meanwhile the big time recruits are primadonnas that have never had to bust their ass, therefore their first couple years of college are usually spent floundering until they feel like they need to change their approach. OSU gets athletes like my daughter, and we get Worthy. That's why you see OSU's players come in and contribute right away while Alfred Collins is still floundering around.
  7. You mean the series where Worthy dropped the TD pass? Refresh my memory.
  8. Hahaha.... Cade Klubnick was a 5 star recruit and the number 1 QB recruit coming out of high school. He isn't exactly our backup. We already know what our backup looks like and an off QE is still better than him. We can't even hit a simple swing pass accurately with him in there.
  9. No, it's exactly correct. You guys love to lose so you can come here and rail on the coach. Nothing better to do with your night. So let's address all these at the same time. 1) Quinn was a bit off but he threw a lot of balls that were catchable. Receivers were losing the ball left and right in the air. Those balls had a lot of air under them and could have been caught with a little adjustment. 2) Worthy does not fight for the ball. He gator armed the high ball coming across the middle and made no play on the balls that weren't perfect. 3) We had about 4 balls hit DBs right in the hands and everyone of them was dropped. Come down with those and we win easily. 4) They started loading the box in the second half and we weren't popping the runs like we were in the 1st, so we had to throw. Guys were in position to make plays and they didn't make them. Simple as that. Anything else you guys say is just noise. We have a couple young playmakers, but there are still a ton of holes on this roster. So they young guys have to play with their hair on fire for us to win. Today we had a ton of chances and no one stepped up.
  10. You are wasting your time. The people commenting were hoping for failure. They are so desperate to be right they mentally pull for our team to play bad just so they can lay it at Sark's feet with an I told you so. Then the next week if we come out and win crickets. They lie in wait for the next loss. They enjoy the misery. QE had a bad game and got zero help from receivers. A lot of those balls were catchable, but on the wrong shoulder or required a simple adjustment that they wouldn't give effort to do.
  11. What is with these receivers not fighting for the ball?
  12. QE is floating passes and its windy. Gonna need to put a little more zip on them to get them on target.
  13. Perfectly normal. Sadly you beat it by teaching them the meltdown isn't going to win them anything. If you fold they have learned it works. Keep the faith and hold the line. Meltdowns we beat easily. Not letting her sleep in our bed was a struggle because my wife was a softy.
  14. Geezus these guys are a joke. Worldwide inflation because Biden is the dumbest shit ever. Wouldn't matter who was in charge. Also, my fence guy is charging 1.5 times the labor he used to because "supply chain issues", or is he seizing the opportunity to increase profits since he has a built in excuse like everyone else?
  15. When we can get to this look we look a little more effective at pressuring the QB but then our eye discipline in our back 7 rears its ugly head when we are close to hitting home on the pass rush. Ugh
  16. Look above. Opponent completion %, opponent third down %, and sack % are all related issues and why we struggle so much on defense. It is hard to get after the passer with a 3 man front. Beating a man head up is a lot harder than coming from the edge. We have JAGs so some of these guys would be a lot more effective playing in a different scheme. We need to play a different front on those 3rd and longs but opposing teams know that and rush back to the line to keep our personnel on the field, and thus no pass rush.
  17. "Herman didn’t win NEARLY enough of those games either" and "Mack was (overall) magic at pulling out those type of games"? Players win games. Herman won more than Strong because he had Ehlinger. Strong won at Louisville because he had Bridgewater. Mack's 3rd most successful year was with Simms, second Colt, and first Vincent Paul Young Jr. Wouldn't you know that's the exact order of who was the best QB while here. Big time players make plays in crucial spots to decide games. We were ass all day yesterday but when all the chips were on the table RoJo, Bijan, Worthy, and Ewers all did their thing for the go ahead drive. Then Our defensive leader made the game saving play. Last year someone was always NOT making a play. Casey Cain is what happened last year when you needed a play. As we get more guys who perform in big moments we will lose less games. The college game is more about getting DUDES over JAGS.
  18. He is good when he is kept clean and allowed to be cut loose.
  19. They are getting him open with man/zone busting route concepts and we never seemed to understand how to handle it. This was where Muschamp would shine, but alas here we are. At least we are playing physical. Hard to watch us dying a slow death out there.
  20. To be fair you guys WERE crying a good bit over the course of the game.
  21. Things I see- Worthy- Last year Worthy was a burner and not much else. This year he is running some sick routes, getting in and out breaks much better. Growth. His next area of maturation is not getting muscled all over the field by DBs. He needs to get stronger and more physical. JWhitt- Coach got him slimmed down and he is much faster without losing his strength. Sanders- Not much to be said here. Kid is a grown ass man. Line- Not bad to get a line with this much experience playing good physical football. ISU does what they do, and it's tough for these guys to know who they are responsible for facing a front like ISU's. RBs- All of them are catching passing this year. Defensively the front is much more sound. Guys are playing like they are trying to play on Sundays. Our shortcomings are we can't get pressure on the QB, we struggle handling certain route combos, and in this particular game our secondary was biting on the RPO's and getting slants thrown behind them. ISU kept throwing those same route combos at us over and over.
  22. Correct on all accounts. Just frustrating period. When an opposing QB plays Texas they have to be licking their chops. To walk into a game knowing you aren't going to get any pressure must be nice. If I were Texas I would concede a throw just to pop the QB even if its late. You just can't let a QB stand back there and run a 7-7 passing drills clinic for 3 hours. But to your point, maybe getting a few snaps for the kids on the safe end of the field is the way to get them some game experience.
