Jesus, when Dotard advises you to withdraw consideration because of the skeletons in your closet, it’s gotta be bad.

Yea, that whole vetting thing is really too much work to be bothered with..... all the best people.

SIAP but Kawhi's mom was apparently at game 4. Now Kawhi's sister is saying he's eager to return to the court when healthy. http://news4sanantonio.com/sports/spurs-zone/kawhi-leonards-sister-says-kawhi-still-recovering-from-injury-eager-to-return-to-court

Maybe people are making this more complicated than it really is. What if Kawhi isn't healthy and that's really the only issue?

Either way, not sure how I feel about giving a supermax to a guy that might have health issues.

Exactly..... if he's not healthy then it would be organizational suicide to offer him the super max.  It may be anyway.  If a guy takes up over a 1/3 of your salary cap, he has to be a top 10 player and really should be a top 5 player.  Best ability is availability.  The decisions around Kawhi are super complicated and could resonate for a decade for the organization.  We can all hope for the best and I'm sure we do, but I'd prefer to see him balling out before any level of 200 million + are being offered....

They made the playoffs last yr with no PG.   Why would you assume they wouldn't make it without him next yr?

No Dipo, Kanter, or Gibson.  They were 47-35 as the 6th seed a year ago (Westbrook's career year)..... That was the 7/8 seed this year.  The West has improved and got deeper and could continue to do so.  They'd be no lock to make the playoffs and I think it would be folly to think they'd be a top 4 team in the West without George.

Also, doesn't Melo still have a no trade clause attached to his contract?  That will severely limit what OKC could get back for him.....

Ok, serious Pop talk.  This will be the 3rd game he's missed.  Now that's his choice, and I have no problem with him doing so; he can take all the time he needs.

So there is obviously a chance Pop calls it a career and hangs it up, and no one but him knows the odds.  He could make that decision now or two months from now. Again, no problem with him doing that.

Problem for the Spurs is that their assistants are getting interviews.  Even if only messina gets a job, he might take udoka or  Becky with him.  Spurs have gone through a ton of assistants, the one constant being Pop, and Spurs may be left with nothing on the bench in a few weeks.  That'll just add fuel to the trade kawhi crap that is still lurking.  Just saying, it could be a long drama filled summer for spurs fans.

It's hard to know what a loss like this will do to a person.  Carefully laid out plans are often thrown out the window, so no idea what he'll do but I always thought he'd coach until and through the 2020 Olympic games.  Maybe that changes now, but that's what I think.  As much as I like Messina, have no issues with him moving on.  It's his time.  I'm not gonna sweat losing these assistants at all....

I honestly don't care that it's separate from the MCU or that the team behind it has a shaky track record. I'm very excited to see Venom actually be showcased and hopefully without the humor that litters most of the MCU.

Doesn't look like we'll see Carnage, though, based on the previews.

We didn't see Woody Harrelson, who is supposedly the big baddie..... maybe they're holding it back since it's 6 months away.  I'd probably try to make a badass movie and save Carnage for the sequel though....

It's smokescreen season. Cleveland has been linked to Darnold, Allen, and Mayfield for the first pick. I don't think anyone actually knows what Dorsey wants to to do.

It seems like a GM at 2 or 3 trying to get someone to pay a ransom to trade up on the hope Darnold will be there.  It's sloppy and ridiculous so gonna guess it's Gettleman spreading that rumor.

who would you rather build your team around going forward: russell westbrook or donovan mitchell?

Mitchell.  I think he's the 2nd best player in this series and I'd rather have him than Westbrook if starting a franchise.

Thunder very much in the danger zone.

Taking a highway into the Danger Zone?  Riding into it?

Thus far.... The Max 3 shooting the Thunder out of the game, perhaps out of the playoffs, and maybe out of relevance in the West for the next several years.....

The Max 3 have 12 turnovers and 5 assists.....  They're 19 for 51 from the field including 1-14 from 3 point land.

I know it was a joke, but is there a difference between this and Zeke?

    https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2018/4/23/17272430/report-police-investigating-serious-allegations-against-cowboys-david-irving

I can easily see him being completely innocent and also getting a suspension.

He could also be totally guilty and get a very noteworthy suspension.  He's had these issues in the past with the same woman..... Failed drug tests would be a bad look too.

No idea what the story is but wonder if it affects draft strategy....

  10. Donovan was brought in to incorporate a more stylistic motion offense.  Durant left in part because he wanted to play this style as well.  I'm not sure D'Antoni could get a motion offense to work with Westbrook running the point.  He couldn't with Kobe so some players simply won't allow this style of play to dominate, for whatever reasons.  I agree that if Utah wins this series, Donovan's job is in great peril.  Then again, PG probably bounces anyway....

prolly CJ and a couple of those scrap players they have.   Although I don't think POR should be an option

Exactly..... which does nothing for Lebron considering.... they couldn't sign anyone else of consequence.  It gets them to the 2nd round.  Portland's not a consideration, IMO.

He can be traded to those teams so cap room really isnt a factor

For what though?  NO offering Boogie I get.... what could Portland offer?

OKC big 3 scoring in 4th quarter:

    Game 1: 17 points

    Game 2: 2 points

    Game 3: 7 points

Westbrook almost had a quadruple double.  9 assists, 8 turnovers.  5-17 shooting.... but dat scowl.
