Georgia and Notre Dame both lost to another playoff team also.  It's a shitshow for the 4th spot.

This.  I have no idea who #4 should be but I have a hard time stomaching a scenario where a team which has a data point less than 24 hours old shows they’re 17 points worse than another playoff team, has any business being in the CFP.

Knowing how much Belmont loves to count its coins, I have a hard time imagining Texas being interested in these 10-year $100mm type deals.

Yeaaa, well.  That may be a problem going forward.

  3. Someone posted it about 100 pages back, but hard to believe less than 12 months ago a number of FBS programs allegedly weren't going to survive an entire year of lost COVID revenue and now, one season later, the average coaching salary has likely doubled and the money is seemingly endless (at least on paper).

Mike Scarborough at TigerBait is saying LSU is all in on Riley and he thinks that is who LSU will hire.

This is correct. In this scenario, Okie Lite has no shot. OU is a better conversation, but it would come down to 3 things...

    1. ND already quite a ways ahead of OU, so too far for OU to climb to jump them
    2. Each with 1 loss, ND's will be to undefeated #3 Cinci and OU's will be to #meh Baylor (by that time)
    3. ND trumps OU for national brand following every single time

Right or wrong, all those things matter.

    See above.

lol wut?  If OU wins out and Baylor doesn’t stumble against Tech that “#mehBaylor” will be the a Top 5-6 team in the final rankings.  That would be the second best loss in CFB this season behind only Cincy (assuming they don’t lose either).

If OSU wins out they’ll be better in nearly every category the committee has allegedly put in place over the years.  Their last two games would have been wins against #9 OU and #5-8 Baylor including a championship game.

They would be a shoe-in over ND.

Hahaha what the fuck is this Monarch show?? Who the hell would watch that?

Some rando TV execs: Hey, that Yellowstone show is having success!   Let’s try and replicate with a no-name cast and poor production.

    This conference sucks so much.

Could have easily been our year if we had even a decent team / coaching.

instead we have One Yard Sark.

We could be saying this for the past 10+ years yet…here we are lol

  8. Was really looking forward to this for the last 3-4 months but it’s getting hammered on reviews.

I’m shocked Apple hasn’t had much success with their big-money productions.  Figured they could have money whipped anyone and everyone for better scripts.

    Paraphrasing from SpaceCity:

We're getting to the point of the calendar year when cool fronts start cycling through with increasing regularity. There will be plenty of "warm" days over the next several weeks, but "hot" temps over 85 become increasingly unlikely with each passing day. Friday will almost certainly be the last day of 2021 that even flirts with 90 (unless you live in the RGV).

For you weirdos who just love never-ending Texas summer, you get 2 more days to sweat. The time for us normies is soon at hand.

  10. Agreed about Cincy winning out and getting in but this feels like one of those initial CFB Playoff rankings where the committee slots them in at something absurd like #11 or 12 and makes them sweat it until the final week when they inexplicably bump them into the Top 4 (assuming they run the table).

0 days since Texas was a (inter)national embarrassment

Similarly how we start threads on here which often begin with “Where else…Florida”, I imagine message boards and newscasts in approximately 48 other states have something similar on an all-too-frequent occurrence for us.
