They didnt slash the tire. They stuck a nail in it. Using a stack of cash or a thin blonde
What will really blow your mind. What if there was no tire?

Haven't seen anyone mention poppers. They work well for me and are my favorite--along with clousers--for catching bass on the fly. Regular or foam bodies, with or without rubber legs, etc.--they all seem to get results and are fun to fish.
Largemouth don't get very big here, though.
This was kind of the reason for my original post. I am trying to catch some large bass. I have had most of my success on small poppers. I am trying to find something bigger I can throw trying to catch 3-5 pounders. I did catch a large blue/cat on a clouser minnow one morning. Watched him take it and wondered if I would regret it but i landed him. I avoided the next one. I figured once was enough.
I don't know how well I can cast it but any recommendations on larger top waters. I seem to have the best results with poppers as well. Just catching small bass and pan fish mostly.
I did order some of Shultz Swingin' D flies Masshole recommended above. Looks like something I would like to fish.

Not just Hager, but many of our players in the 80s looked like they were 35 year old truckers.
I played a little intramural softball with Ken Hackemack so this hits close to home.

Also, you dont have to fish a polyleader or a sinking/intermediate line, but when targeting bass in the summer holding in deeper holes - I find it helps tremendously to get your fly down to them. A lot of people think they can just tie on a subsurface streamer to a floating line and 12lb mono leader, but I've found that is not nearly as effective.
This seems like sound advise.
I am not at the point of tying my own flies yet. But it does interest me. I have watched a few videos on various ties but I am not committed enough to start buying the tie gear.

If anyone fly fishes for large mouth bass I would love to see some of the flies you use. I catch a lot of small bass on small top waters but I would like to start trying to catch some larger fish. I just started fly fishing last year and love it but I would to diversify my flies and I am almost exclusively fishing tanks and bayous. Is there a good fly that imitates a worm, frog or crawfish. I have googled that shit and don't see anything I really like.

When I first glanced at that graphic, I thought it was a picture of Jimbo with the words "Aggies Arse".
Same here. It's the what made sense in my brain.

Has anyone tried the Katy location?

I lost with 4 Aces to a Royal Flush at a table in Louisiana years ago that just about turned me off of gambling all together. The guy stayed in with Q, 10 of spades despite my trying to push him out at every bet/raise. I had AA hearts and clubs. Flop comes A(d), K(s), J(s), turn K(d) river A(s). There were three players after the flop and only one after the river and I thought maybe someone has a flush draw, or a straight or full house (Ks over As) or even 4 Kings but I never saw the royal flush coming. I'm "ALL IN!"
The guy who won also received the jackpot for Royal Flush that had not been won in something like 2 months.

Ags are correct in their assertion that being the only Texas school in the SEC helps them. They get more notoriety and exposure. Get out from under the shadow of Texas, retain their Texas recruiting ties, and SEC money > Big12 money. If/when the era of the super-conferences gain traction, the Big12 is in real trouble. Who do we add? Cincinnati? It's been rehashed to death, but realignment is only a matter of time.
I think being in Texas mitigates the problem Arky had by leaving, but I think Bama and LSU (when they have a decent coach) are still the SEC schools that the top Texas kids will go to if they want to play in the SEC. Plus aTm still has to compete with Texas and ou for talent. I just don't see them having much more sustainable success with the move. They may not be as bad as Arky but I don't see them ever being a powerhouse in their division of the SEC.

1. Yes. Moreso even. See the late 60's early 70's
2. No. It's nice. And the campus is really nice, as is there stadium. Lot of Texas kids headed that way when they allowed them to qualify for in-state tuition.
3. They were really the only out of state member. As I vaguely remember, they always felt there was a better 'fit' with those schools. Problem was, when they left, their Texas recruiting suffered. They the ewe-fukers helped open that gate back wide open.
This is my impression as well.
More Texas kids are going to Arky because it offers instate tuition to a lot of Texas high school kids. Several that don't get into to McCombs or Mays go there.
I remember Arky in the SWC but they left shortly after I was at Texas. I didn't have the animosity for them but I know the generation before me did. Everyone loathed ou while I was Texas and they continue to suck to this day.
I have visited Fayetteville several times over the last few years and like the town. Driving around Arkansas is nothing like driving in the shit hole that is Oklahoma.
Everyone native to Arkansas roots with a passion for the hogs because there is no other major college football program and no pro sports team in the state.
I often wonder if Arkansas regrets leaving the SWC. Arky was one of the dominant forces in the SWC and got tons of talent from Texas. Since leaving they have not won an SEC title and they only have winning records in the SEC against: Miss St., Ol Miss, South Carolina and Vandy . They have losing records to the other 9 members including Kentucky and Missouri. They are 0-6 against the aggies which represents their longest losing steak in the history of the rivalry. aTm's all time record v. Arky is 30-41-3. They have been in the SEC now for 27 years. With little to no success. I bet the old timers in Arky long for the days of the SWC.
When the ags moved to the SEC I was shocked they didn't consider the plight of the pigs in their decision making process but stupid is as stupid does. They think their instate local will be the difference maker. Time will tell.

So while I am at a hospital for 3 days and nights with one of my parents I had the foundation done on a new home.
Foundation Guy - "Don't paint or fix cracks or anything for at least 3 weeks."
UTEX90 to Wife - "We are not supposed to paint of fix cracks for at least 3 weeks."
Wife the very next day. - "I am going to paint the kids bathrooms while your'e at the hospital."
UTEX90 - "Are you just trying to make me ragey?"
I think I have the most impatient woman on the planet. I told her we couldn't move in until the roof and foundation were done. Roof finished, Tuesday, two days ago. Moving truck was at her house last Saturday.
I don't want to sleep in the new house until we have television and internet service. (To be hooked up on Tuesday also.)
Wife - I am sleeping in the new house Saturday night. All of our furniture is there.
And she did.

This year I am a pitching coach on a 9-10 Little League team in Katy. Lots of fun. 5-0 so far and have beaten some tough competition with great pitching and defense.

I loved SBMSA. Got a kid with his name on a plaque our there for winning State as 8 year olds. At least I hope it is still there. Alas, that was 10 years ago. You boys enjoy this time. There is no other like it.

This happened when we were in school. It just wasnt all over the internet and kids kept their mouths shut. Seems most of these teachers are getting caught from phone usage.

So you're saying that we should all thank the crappy football team for making us the assholes we are? What happens if the team gets good again do we stop being assholes?
Oh we will still be assholes. We will just be more sanctimonious about being assholes. I'm excited about the possibility.

This. I don't think he is a bitch for saying it. I think most kids say something like, "I just connected better with X team" or "X team felt like family. This kid is worried about his future. He clearly could have not said anything at all. I wish he had not said anything negative about Texas if he was going to go somewhere else but I can't blame him for saying what he said. The way to correct all of this is for us to win and put players in the NFL.
I'm sure it has been discussed in this 319 page thread but exactly how many spots do we have to offer?
