The Party of Perpetual Poverty ain't exactly helpin folks...but keep choking that chicken.

Love your work in the inner cities.

Jesus, dude.  Just shut the hell up every once in a while.  You must be infinite cat, because you've shot your own dick off way more than 9 times and yet here you are, serving up yet another lame-brained take.

Good lord.  Have some self respect.

  2. If I had my druthers the Democrats would focus heavily on young voters as well as those who don't tend to turn out.  I get it -- there is some small fraction of 2016 Trump voters who are disenfranchised and prone to changing sides, but unless there's a very efficient way of identifying them, I think it's largely wasted effort to target that demographic.  There are more fertile fields to plow (so to speak).

Shrug. I don't care enough to look at the numbers.

But why don't you re-do your weighted average when you look at whites only? Because that's the contention of mine that you took issue with.

    Spoiler: It's >50%.

But the original point whoever was making is that supporting Trump is anti-Christian (true) and to that end it's astonishing that the majority of Christians support Trump (also true).

We're gonna win the Anal Retentive Award for the day.  I get your point, you get mine -- both valid.  Ultimately, we agree that the numbers are sad.

I agree with you there and think what you're saying is fair. But the original point whoever was making is that supporting Trump is anti-Christian (true) and to that end it's astonishing that the majority of Christians support Trump (also true).

Nope.  I'm sorry, but the numbers just don't support the 2nd assertion.  The graphs linked above show 50% of Protestants and 36% of Catholics approve of Trump's presidency.  Weigh those by their total census and we find that 45% of "Christians" support Trump.  (I don't know where Mormons fall on this spectrum, both in terms of inclusion in the numbers or their "Christianity", and I sure don't want to argue about the latter.)

We've beaten this to death.  I just don't think it's as bad as some would make it out to be within Christian denominations.  Now, VOCAL support?  That's something else, and cause for concern, but that's just a gut feel.  I don't know the statistics.

Interesting that he never gave names or physical descriptions of the Congresswomen that were the subjects of his tweets.  Yet everyone is assuming precisely which ones they think he is talking about.  Ever stop to wonder why that is?    Now, who is making assumptions about race?

Holy smokes.  How many "Progressive Democrat Congresswomen" were born outside of the US?  Come on, man.  Trump is an idiot for thinking The Squad is all foreign-born, but you're gonna have to do a little work to identify who he was speaking about if it wasn't those four women.  Hint:  there are only 89 women in Congress who are Democrats.  Whittle that down by "Progressive" and you're starting with a fairly small group, especially if you exclude The Squad.

I'm trying to figure out just how fucking stupid one has to be in order to make such an argument and believe it will fly.

Lol c'mon man. You're clearly being defensive and upset.

I don't even know what point you're making? That there are probably more white Christian anti-Trump people in raw number than non-white Christian? Well yeah, because there's a lot more white people. Good job...?

Well, when your demographic is getting lumped in with Trump supporters, it can be a little disconcerting.

Don't blame Christians.  Blame Christians who support Trump.  Plenty of the former recognize the unreal levels of hypocrisy exhibited by Trumpkins.

  7. Oh, no doubt, XTC was (is?) brilliant.  Right up there with Squeeze, Split Enz, The Cure in terms of post-Beatles pop mastery.

"This issue here is not whether my client broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with his female party guests.  He did.  But you can't hold an entire secret society responsible for the behavior of a few sick, twisted individuals.  For if you do, shouldn't we blame the whole justice system?  And if the whole justice system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our whole system of government in general?  I put it to you, Judge Berman -- isn't this an indictment of our entire American society?  Well, you can do whatever you want to my client, but he's not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America!  Sir!"

Settle down. Nobody is saying that every Christian is a Trump lover.

I didn't accuse you of saying that.  I'm arguing your point that the vocal Christians against Trump are "mostly  non-white".  Sorry to ruffle your feathers.

LOL -- learn the difference between percentages and raw numbers.  That post even shows not quite half of white "mainline" Protestants support Trump.

I'm white.  I'm a Christian.  I think Trump is fucking evil and (decorum prevents me from saying what I'd like to say).  The VAST majority of my white Christian friends agree and are just as vocal.  Furthermore, this is not a local thing -- it's national.

Am I saying that an overwhelming majority of White Christians speak out against Trump?  No, I'm not.  I'm saying that far more than a small minority do.

I just don’t understand the Christians in all of this. Neither Trump nor the GOP is demonstrating behavior that is inline with Christian principles, except for the official church view on abortion. Why are these people staying with the Republican Party and Trump? I don’t get it.

Uh . . . not all Christians are Republicans.  Only Evangelical Protestants and Mormons lean Republican (56% and 70%, respectively).  In 2018, Protestants supported Republicans over Democrats 56/42.  Catholics supported Democrats over Republicans 50/49.

Plenty of Christians are outraged and have been letting you know about it.

Trump campaign director claims the President did not tell several U.S.-born Democratic Congresswomen to "go back" to their native countries and that Twitter "is lying."

Come on, man.  The go-to excuse is "the President's Twitter account was hacked".

It's about catering to elites, which predominantly consist of white people.  The elites care as much about poor whites as they do the poor of other races.  There are more white children living in poverty in the U.S. than any other race but keep obscuring reality by pivoting to identity politics you divisive cunt.

Well, given the fact that white persons (non-Hispanic or Latino) represent a bit over 60% of the US population, this is not exactly surprising.  That's almost 4X the count on Hispanic or Latino (16%) and almost 5X black or African American (13%).

The press doesn’t have a duty and MUST do nothing.

They are businesses first and have always done what’s best for business. Sometimes there’s harmonious congruence, sometimes they put the story first. Other times they bury it.

Do they have a legal duty?  Of course not.  Do they have an implicit duty?  Absolutely.  And they used to fulfill it, way more often than not.

    You're wrong.
