  1. I've had some great burgers at Hopdoddy's and Casino.  I'm sure there are plenty of other good burgers in Austin, but I'd like to see the definitive Top 10 list, because if those two aren't on it I'm missing some damn good options.

    I know Hopfield's gets a lot of love.  I'll assume it's Top 10.

I like plenty of bar burgers like Roaring Fork, etc. but they're not exactly transcendent.  Where are all these hidden gems hiding out?

  2. I was WAY into KISS as a kid.  I started to outgrow them in high school, but there is no denying the hooks in a bunch of those songs.

Not great players, but Paul Stanley has a major league rock voice.

Gene Simmons is a choad's choad.

A friend of mine plays drums for Ace and it's like his dream gig.  Every once in awhile Gene or Paul shows up.

  3. I lean left and I think it's a dangerous concept.  I don't like the idea of demanding that the press or any other conduit of expression vet content for truth, even if just limited to "news".

Truth evolves.  New facts come to light, man.  I don't know how or why social media outlets could be held to a higher standard than the press itself, and if The National Enquirer can publish a story asserting that  Ben Affleck's pubic hairs contain evidence of a 1939 alien invasion, then why should a social media site be held to a stricter standard?

Pardon me if I'm not immediately outraged but how exactly is free speech being suppressed?

Not saying it isn't but what speech would be suppressed by the State?

It appears to go beyond any restrictions currently placed on the press (freedom of which is analogous to freedom of speech).  To my knowledge, restrictions on freedom of the press are punitive -- i.e., after the fact (libel,  etc.).

You seriously don't understand the difference between legal process and impeachment, which is a political process?   Now I'm the one who is incredulous.

    His user name checks out.

  6. I swear, it has to be the euphoric high experienced by elderly people when they realize they can communicate with their peers using that weird box their son-in-law set up in "the home office".

  7. Most Americans seem to think lying about blowjobs is not worthy of removal.  Maybe this has something to do with the fact that over half of American married couples have at least one partner commit infidelity.

  8. It's not a waste of time.  It shines a fairly bright light on some serious transgressions.  Whether or not the Senate is willing to follow through is another issue entirely.  The more the voters learn, the better.

Attorney client privilege is still a thing. However, it isn't, and never has been absolute. See Clark v United States where the crime-fraud exception is defined.

You're interacting with SmokeyBear1861.  Might I suggest a toddler?  You'll have more luck.

  10. Tremendous loudspeakers.  I used to own them -- I moved down to the Triton 7 because I'm now in a smaller room -- it's the best tweeter I have ever heard.

I didn't realize they were shutting down.  I'll have to swing by.
