  1. Need info:  what guitar effects would you say are being used on The Cure's "A Forest" after the drums come in?  Things change a bit after the intro, so I'm specifically trying to find that jangly tone that's present once the whole band kicks in.  I suspect there's some chorus and reverb but is there something else I'm not aware of?  It doesn't sound like run of the mill chorus effect, which I tend not to like.

This clip should start at the point I'm talking about:

  2. *kilowatt-hr (not kilowatt)

I wish Austin gave consumers the choice of suppliers.  8.5 cents per kw-hr is fantastic.  Austin Energy charges a fixed base (per kw-hr) and then a tiered rate which increases as consumption increases.  Our total blended rate last month came in at 12.3 cents per kw-hr.

And even if you had lynched a negro, would that REALLY be racist??

The Dems didn't care about Bill Clinton getting Lynched on the tarmac.  They only care when black guys get Lynched.  Double standards suck.  BUT HILLARY!

And her husband who the DNC shielded, and called the women who accused him liars...and she helped.....  The whole Hilary and Bill are yesterdays news while true in the present, but that doesn't cover the fact that a contributing factor of why we're where we are today is because of those two, and the lengths the DNC went to cover for his sexual proclivities, calling it just sex, and her illegal acts right up until election night 2016..

Trump is in charge.  In the 1st debate, he stated that were he in charge, she'd be in jail.  So why isn't she in jail?

Come on, Onboard.  You're a smart guy.  Connect the dots for us.  Should be super easy.

  5. Look, people need to recognize that what's happening right now is just a repeat of 4 years ago.  The Dems will eat their own in an orgy of virtue signalling and scorn.  Cut it out.

I don't care if the nominee is Bernie, Kamala, Pete, Liz, Joe, whoever.  OK, I have my preferences, but ultimately I don't care that much.  I want TRUMP OUT OF OFFICE.  It's chemotherapy time.  That's goal #1.  There is no secondary goal.  We are trying to keep the patient alive.

It’s just interesting that in one thread I’m told to fuck reluctant Trump voters while at the same time I should acknowledge centrists as a demographic with any value.

Trump has absolutely destroyed the center, it is gone.  The asymmetrical polarization of the GOP has pulled the entire country to the right.  You don’t have to be a socialist to oppose Trump but you can’t pretend anymore  there are good ideas on both sides.  It’s just not possible anymore to straddle the ideological fence in the moderate space.  I mean, you can try but the Republicans took the biggest turn towards fascism I’ve ever seen in my life this week.

Like I said, we’re undergoing an ideological realignment and the center is currently a completely empty space until the left and right are better defined.

WTF are you babbling about?  Being a "centrist" in no way defaults to acknowledging "both sides have good points".

You need to reset your perspective.  I can completely reject the right and partially reject the extreme left and still sleep at night.  Man, I don't know about you.  You really struggle with shades of gray.

I reserve the right to completely reject much of what bad_teammate proposes.  That in no way makes me a Trump supporter, apologist, acceptor, whatever.  Disabuse yourself of your bullshit binary opinions.

Salvation used to be solid and was the first place I tried Live Oak Hefe in undergrad so it holds nostalgia, but I haven't been since the new ownership/rebrand.

New ownership?  Hadn't heard that.  There has been a definite personnel change at the campus location but I didn't attribute that to anything other than normal turnover.

Sometimes it is black and white.  Like today.  You either oppose the racism of the GOP, or you don’t.  It’s that simple.

AND once again fuck you.  One can oppose the racism of the GOP in its totality and still essentially be "a centrist".

Man, you have a lot of growing up to do.  Hope it happens soon.  Too much is at stake.

I used to argue centrists had an ideology based around some basic values but after more thought and consideration, they don’t because their centrism is defined by their neutral proximity to the real ideologies.

Please take this in the spirit intended:  fuck you.

For anyone else who needs an explanation as to why one might have a legitimate perspective located somewhere between two extremes?  Fuck you.

    Welcome to Trump 2020.

Centrists only act as an obstacle to change in either direction.  That’s what makes them centrists.  The have no ideology except “we’re not doing that because it’s radical.”  Centrists define normal things as radical. Universal healthcare, gun control, taking in refugees, and advocating for US leadership on climate change are pretty much agreed upon topics in the rest of the civilized world.  Yet, the centrists aren’t in agreement on what to do with these issues which makes them pushovers for hard pulls in either direction.  It’s a big part of how we got here with Trump.

Self identifying centrists seem like they want to call themselves centrist to give an impression they’re open minded to the arguments on “both sides” when what they’re really saying is, “I don’t care enough to have a fully formed opinion so let’s not do anything drastic.”

    Votes straight ticket GOP

because socialism and open borders are scary.

Again, this is fucking ridiculous.  It's entirely possible to have a conviction that lands in between two extremes.  What you are saying is phenomenally offensive, and it's exactly why Democrats continue to shoot themselves in the foot over and over again.

For fuck's sake. Stop with the Aggie firing squad bullshit.  It's incredibly damaging.

You’re not a centrist, you’re a progressive and you just don’t know it.

That's not really true in any historical perspective.  Both parties moved right -- what used to be center is now center-left.  What he advocates is absolutely a reasonable, moderate platform, but the hysteria from both the Tea Party and the bad_teammates of the world try to redefine everything in some sort of idiotic new normal.

But I’m not Ronnie wood and he is so he can play whatever the hell he damn well pleases.

This was EXACTLY my thought.  Ronnie is beyond reproach.

Irrelevant anecdote:  I've only seen the Stones one time, on the "Bridges to Babylon" tour at Texas Motor Speedway.  Their set had a bridge that came out and connected to a tiny "club" stage right in front of my face.  I could have spit and hit the band.  They played a few tunes, and right at the jump some chick threw her bra on stage.  Ronnie picked it up, put it on his head like some kind of flight helmet, and played the rest of his set like that.  I like Ronnie, he's a very good player and has a terrific heart.

Did you happen to notice the 2018 election results? Your break from reality would be funny if it wasn't so clearly the result of self-loathing cognitive dissonance.

    Instead it's just pathetic.

    Cry more.

A few handles days ago, I believe he mentioned the 2018 results were evidence that he was correct and that it was the right's dream scenario.  You know, owning the libs by allowing them to retake the house with four colored wimmens.
