  1. And add in everyone wearing masks covering half their faces. But look at the bright side, the hospitals won't be overwhelmed. Instead hospitals and police departments will be overwhelmed.
  2. It won't be as bad as what the country is going to look like if 3/4 of all small businesses and a good chunk of the large ones go out of business. This may sound callous but it is a cold hard truth, this country can survive having two million people die from this easier than it can survive 50 million or more people becoming unemployed from this.
  3. If there is a silver lining to this the ESPYs should only take about ten minutes to air this year.
  4. How many questions were asked about Coronavirus at the Democrat debates in January and February? The fact is everyone in this country underestimated this and the vast majority of people in the entire world underestimated this. Politicians, media, federal government, state government, local government, economists, intelligence agencies, doctors, everyone. If you were one of those few people crying out about this two or three months ago you were treated by the rest of the country, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, whoever, as if you had a black velvet painting of Alex Jones in your bedroom. It is ridiculous to say Trump should have seen this coming sooner when 99% of America wasn't seeing it coming sooner either. Of course maybe the politicians, the media, and the rest of the country might have paid a little more attention to it if a complete political sham of an impeachment trial hadn't been taking up everyone's time and attention back then.
  5. This is for the next time some fuckstick in the media (in this case Joe Scarborough) tries to tell you that everyone but Trump knew this was going to be serious months ago.
  6. CNN runs graphics proclaiming the U.S. has passed Italy and China to become the world's leader in deaths from Covid 19 based on total numbers and not deaths per capita. CNN then fact checks Trump's claim that the U.S. tests more people than any other country in the world and proclaims he is lying because he used the total number of tests and not tests per capita. https://pjmedia.com/trending/what-the-media-isnt-telling-you-about-the-united-states-coronavirus-case-numbers/
  7. https://twitter.com/JoyAnnReid/status/1244744904523370496 Joy Reid @JoyAnnReid · 16h So my Tiger King binge was interrupted by a text saying the CEO of MyPillow is now part of the presidential briefings on COVID19 ... please tell me this is a prank. Excuse me, don't you have a job working as a news anchor on a national news network during the biggest crisis this country has faced since at least 9-11? Why are you watching Tiger King instead of covering, or at least watching, a news conference given by the President of the United States of America concerning the latest information regarding this crisis?
  8. No, my point is the same media wants Trump to act more like one now. A media that supposedly hates dictators but seems to think China can do no wrong. No surprise really, I've been posting here for years that the left at heart are authoritarianists and have been getting shit for it the whole time. It doesn't surprise me one bit they would rather carry China's water than recognize a democracy in Taiwan.
  9. This is the assistant director of the WHO and this is why no one should give a shit what the WHO thinks. (This also dovetails nicely into the post I made in the media bias thread about the New York Times writer who used this piece of shit as a source for why we should be handling this more like China.) The guy clearly heard the question about Taiwan but wanted nothing to do with answering it.

There is plenty more where these came from (i.e. Google).
  11. Wasn't it just a couple of months ago the media was fully convinced Trump wished to become a dictator and was outraged about it? Now they want him to act more like China's government. https://twitter.com/Max_Fisher/status/1244608510073147392?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1244608510073147392&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fnyt-writer-americans-should-stop-blaming-communist-chinese-government-learn-from-them-instead New York Times reporter Max Fisher on Twitter US outbreaks may be too far along for the South Korea model to work. The only thing left is the China model. It’s the only known success at subduing a full-blown epidemic. Instead of working with Beijing on finding lessons, the US is scapegoating China to deflect political blame. It's so successful every funeral home in Wuhan is receiving between 2,500 and 3,500 urns per day now. I get why no one wants to hold up the China model as laudable, given Beijing's failures, propaganda, and authoritarian methods. But none of those are necessarily needed to reproducing China’s real successes, which could at least potentially save hundreds of thousands of lives. So today I learned that welding people's doors shut while they are inside their apartments is not an authoritarian method. If your well-grounded concern is that official Chinese data can never be trusted, it’s worth considering that the WHO is vouching firsthand for the country having achieved a major turnaround. Is it worth even looking for lessons? Inside China’s All-Out War on the Coronavirus Dr. Bruce Aylward, of the W.H.O., got a rare glimpse into Beijing’s campaign to stop the epidemic. Here’s what he saw. nytimes.com This is the same guy who refused to answer a question from a reporter about whether the WHO would allow Taiwan to become a member. The WHO is the same organization who ignored Taiwan when Taiwanese officials were trying to warn them of this virus. This is also the same organization who took China at its word when they declared they had found no evidence of human to human transmission of this virus. To sum up this is an organization who has been sucking China's dick while all of this took place. Sure let's trust them and their weaselly spokespeople. So this guy wants the U.S. to follow China's coronavirus policies. If that is the case then he should have no problem with Trump kicking all the New York Times reporters out of the country because that is exactly what China's government did last week. The New York Times would be doing this country a better service if they were manufacturing toilet paper instead of newspapers. Come to think of it, actually they are.
