  1. I'm also really confused here. Are you saying that Okafor being the starter means that Tyler Johnson is a future first rounder? I don't see how one leads to the other Also I'm skeptical of the premise that first round linemen start as true freshman "more often than not" unless you care to back up that claim.
  2. Anwar's saying Sam is still sick and won't practice tomorrow
  3. Ah, well yeah that's perfectly understandable
  4. Are you talking about the take two posted today? Why would that make you rethink anything? It was pretty worthless Article in question: In the comments Such says he thinks we lead.
  5. Dunlap is super high on Thompson overall. Has been since last year. So take that into account when he reports on him. Also even if there is some stuff that's inconsistent in there, I feel like OB's report is pretty realistic and in line with expectations rather than super optimistic.
  6. OB scrimmage notes from Alex Dunlap
  7. 2024: I Would Walk 500 Giles 2025: And I Would Walk 500 More
  8. I'm starting to get really hyped about our offense
  9. Ringo isn't a silent but he we have a big lead
  10. Suchomel also had an article last week about how he was high on us but it was kinda just typical fodder
  11. Rivals (national) had an article with a run down of a bunch of guys from the dallas camp. Spiegelman predicted Brockermeyer, Dorbah, Javian Hester, and Kimber to us. None of the other prospects they talked about are really relevant to us.
  12. Sterns also deserves some level of blame for that WVU game winner even though I like him
  13. Yes. Missed K-State.
  14. I know. That's what I'm saying. Scheme isn't some unbeatable trump card.
  15. We actually did what you said in your edit somewhat regularly towards the end of the season. We don't run 4 DL, but we do use 4 man fronts. Honestly, any DL battles we lose are just losses. The scheme pitches really aren't that hard to beat and aren't important enough to be the only reason a kid would choose A&M.
  16. Spinal stenosis basically means that the spinal canal is narrower than normal. If it is narrowed to the point that it impinges on the spinal cord and roots that run through the canal, it can cause a ton of issues ranging from numbness to pain to lack of coordination and balance. There are also several other complications that can make it more serious. At the cervical level (i.e. at the neck, where it's reported with DGF), it can be caused by herniated discs, so that may be how the discovery of a herniated disc led to the discovery. The doctors in SC's article were saying that it hasn't been proven to increase risk of spinal cord injury and it doesn't mean you can't play football, but I found a pretty good article whose authors believe there is a correlation with SCI and strongly advise that their patients don't play football. There was another study that found that 5% of the ~3000 players that attended the NFL combine from 2003-2011 had cervical spine injuries, including ten cases of stenosis. All 10 were drafted and none had spinal cord injuries as of 2016. However, players that did suffer spinal cord injuries were more likely to have narrow spinal canals. It seems like overall there isn't much of a consensus on how much risk stenosis poses to athletes, how it should be treated, or when they are safe to return to their sport. Spinal cord injuries can be really catastrophic so I think that it's understandable why any increase in risk can be quite a deterrent. I'm not a doctor and I haven't seen DeGabriel as a patient, so I can't/don't want to speculate too much about his future.
  17. I'm still a student (about to complete a masters in medical science), so I'm trying to learn about these injuries, but I'm wondering as to why the worry about DGF's injury. Obviously, ctj saying he might not ever play is really concerning, but I'm wondering what the likely prognosis actually is. I'm know there's a non-zero chance he doesn't play again, but based on my research it doesn't seem totally doomed. One article said: "Over 85% patients with symptoms associated with acute herniated disc will resolve within 8 to 12 weeks without any specific treatments." Another said found that 79% of patients with lumbar disc hernation returned to play after an average of 4.8 months and continued to play for at least 6 (although lumbar is different that DGF's injury). I don't have any actual clinical training, so if anybody with some (or Maggus Ossis) wants to chime in about whether there are abnormal concerns about DGF I'd appreciate it. Our freak injury luck fucking sucks lately. Hudson, Grandy, Brown, DGF, Coburn within the last yearish.
  18. Less than 2 hours before he decommitted: "Love the ability of Jimbo's staff to evaluate talent, I don't see this kid wavering - seems rock solid to A&M." Everybody should know that LA kids don't spurn LSU (unless it's Bama). We were sweating bullets with Warren last year for a reason. And hell, Michael Williams transferred to walk on there.
  19. Time to go read some spring practice reports to raise my spirits after the nut punch that this thread has been the last couple days
  20. Evans will sign with aggy when Shepherd does
  21. Here's the full 2021 TX rankings so far It'll be interesting to see if they actually land 8 of the top 14. My money is on no.
  22. Ringo should be higher. If NSD were tomorrow, he'd be the most likely to commit. The only reason I see to not put him #1 here is because he'll be the most highly sought after player on this list.
  23. Yeah we were not good on the ground last year. But it was still really easy to see progress so it shouldn't be hard for that aggy to understand the pitch. And it should be good next year with three all-conference OL returning.
  24. I thought the same thing. Trying to put some pressure on them to let him commit. I don't think it accomplishes much when he's already committed to another school.
  25. Kid is doing tons of research into his college choice, is fiercely loyal to his teammate, and has high aspirations both on and off the field? Definitely not aligned with Herman.
