Philly and Brooklyn starting to play like we thought they would when the season started

A majority of people thought Brooklyn would be a shit show. And then people collectively threw their shoulders out patting themselves on the back after the start to the season. Especially the media.

There is absolutely nothing in the affidavit to indicate that his life was in danger (which would be the only justification), and his attorneys would 100% have made such circumstances public already were that the case.

I think any person, male or female, has a right to defend themselves.  The threat doesn’t just have to be life or death. If she is causing bodily harm, he can defend himself. The response just has to be proportional to the threat. IMO.

Of course it is better to leave the situation, but that isn’t always possible.

Lots of justifications for domestic abuse in here. Dude is 1000% gone and absolutely should be.

Domestic abuse goes both directions.  It is POSSIBLE he was protecting himself - and if so, it might have been 100% appropriate.  It is also possible that in protecting himself, he escalated things and abused her in return.

Either way, I'm willing to wait to see all the facts presented before making a judgement.

    Sheesh.  Lubbock U ain't Arkansas.

Arkansas has it going right now, but they have only finished in the top-25 of the final AP poll 3 times in the last 20 years.   Tech has 5 top-25 finishes over the same stretch.  Even last year, Tech drew a 3 seed to Arkansas' 4 seed with a new coach.

  5. Brad Stevens??? Lololol.  I mean... wow.

Also, HARD pass on Steve Nash. It is looking more and more like he was a big part of the problem in Brooklyn. He has no leadership ability as a head coach IMO.  Had the Nets at 2-5 this year. After firing him, they have gone 15-7, including winning the last 8 of 9.

Although...I mean, wait a minute, let's not be too hasty.  He is charged with impeding breath circulation.  Shit, I do that to my wife all the time when I give her the post-chili dog dutch oven treatment.  Maybe Beard was just farting under the covers a lot.  Maybe that's it, guys?  Wadda ya think?  Think there's a shot?

    Yeah...shit....me neither.

    Felony Dutch Oven

  7. Don’t look now, but the Nets have won 4 in a row and 10 of their last 15.  By my count, only Boston has a better record in their last 15 than the Nets in the entire NBA.

They just got back TJ Warren and Joe Harris is playing better.  At full strength this team is going to be a problem for anybody.

Part of that is there are no superstars. Just really, really good basketball players who respect each other.

Not sure I agree.  Tyrese Hunter is about as close to a superstar as we have had at Texas since Durant and Augustin. He is the first guy in 10+ years we have had to average 16+ per game.  And he is doing it from the guard position shooting an amazing 54% from the field.  If his minutes and usage increased he could average 25 ppg.

Here are all the guys we have had at Texas average more 16+ ppg in the last 22 years:

    • Tyrese Hunter - 16.0 ppg, 54.5 FG%
    • Kevin Durant - 25.8 ppg, 47.3 FG% - Wooden Award Winner
    • J'Covan Brown - 20.1 ppg, 41.7 FG% - 1st Team All Big 12
    • DJ Augustin - 19.2 ppg, 47.1 FG% - 1st Team All American
    • Jordan Hamilton - 18.6 ppg, 44.0 FG% - 2nd Team All American
    • Damion James - 18.0 ppg, 50.0 FG% - 1st Team All Big 12
    • AJ Abrams - 16.6 ppg, 39.9 FG% - 2nd Team All Big 12
    • PJ Tucker - 16.1 ppg, 51.5 FG% - Big 12 PoY, 2nd Team AA

Dude is on a 1st Team All-American trajectory IMO.  Every time I watch him I'm blown away by how good he is.

Morris's defensive effort and efficacy have been a revelation.

Agreed. I really like his game and think he is going to be an awesome player as the game slows down for him. He is super athletic and continues to remind me of Avery Bradley with his movement, defense and shot form.  I'm assuming he will stay around next year.  If so, I can see him being an All-Conference type player with a year of maturation and a big bump in minutes.
