  1. I love this night. Seeds, teams, whatever. Doesn't matter. Culmination of the greatest event in sport. Anywhere.
  2. I would never count SDSU out. Veteran, resilient, tough as nails. But UConn has been equally good defensively, at least of late. And it's better on the other end than SDSU, quite a bit. I'm not sure SDSU will be able to contain Sanogo. 8 times out of 10, UConn wins. But the beauty of the tournament is that every game is a game 7. And maybe tonight is SDSU's night. Wouldn't be the first time. We'll see.
  3. Indeed. Different angle of Butler's shot. Great view despite the inclusion of Bohls.
  4. Nantz's last college basketball call tonight. He's done the last 32 FF / championships and has very good at it. Lots of color guys (Packer, Kerr, Kellogg, Raftery, others) have worked with him over the years but Nantz has been the constant. He'll continue to do the NFL and the Masters, the latter until he’s on his death bed probably. But tonight will be the last CBB game. Ian Eagle gets Nantz's chair next year in Phoenix. Solid pxp guy and CBS is in good hands with him. CBS tribute to Nantz from Saturday:
  5. I sat with one of our assistant coaches this morning at a youth soccer game. An important assistant coach, one I've referenced in other threads. His assessment of last Sunday? We tensed up in the last 6 minutes of the game, didn't execute, missed Disu a ton in the rotation and just had to give credit to a team that went into the paint and made shots. Big shots. When down 10 or so, Miami converted. He said its ability to get inside the lane to score, get to the line, or both, won the game. Not once did he mention officials. Nor should he have. I know that's a tough thing to do on this board, but live with it.
  6. No doubt. The game was fixed.
  7. UConn opens at 6.5. Get on it.
  8. Attacking an undersized team in the paint isn't being bailed out. Miami did that, and did it successfully against us. It had no prayer tonight given UConn's size. We just need more size. As much as some of you need some objectivity.
  9. It's not going to be a game.
  10. Great chance to buy a $15 ticket and get courtside. It's still a national championship game.
  11. Miami destroyed us in the paint in crunch time. UConn ate Miami alive inside tonight.
  12. San Diego is a really good team. But it will be runner-up. UConn is the best team in this tournament. Out on a limb, I know....
  13. Grant Hill is so useless. Adds zero to the game.
  14. If they're smart they're in a bar. That's a terrible way to watch the game.
  15. On another note what is Alanis Morrisette doing at the CMT awards?
  16. Not if you had UConn -5.5
  17. Correct. The best team in the tournament. They'll win easily Monday night.
  18. Meh. Just watch ESPN, over and over and over and over, and it will convince you every 30 seconds on how the women's game is so good. But it's not. It's unwatchable.
  19. That is your definition of a nightmare. A violent tornado is the starter. And on top of it, at night, just a dark, menacing death machine periodically illuminated by lightning. Fuck that.
  20. Yes, it was. That was a nasty, and really good, Georgetown team. Villanova had no fear after playing them close (twice) during the regular season. Nova shot 78% for the game. From the floor. Shots taken were at a minimum. Every one mattered. McClain (D) and Pinckney were big but Harold Jensen just as much if not more. Hit some clutch shots when they needed to be made.
  21. I watched the final quarter of that womens game last night. The Iowa gal is good, has a nice jump shot. She seems to walk about every 3rd possession but I'll leave that to the 2,000 or so "refs sucks" subscribers on this board. The real story was the So Car coach. She was atrocious. Iowa has one player that can beat you. Cut off the damn head. Play one defender on her, run a 2nd one at her constantly and let those 3 big players run a triangle defending the basket. Nothing wrong with making an adjustment in the game. the coach may be the 2nd coming of John Wooden for all I know. Last night she was abysmal.
