  1. I have a bit of a newfound interest in the hobby.  Drove down to South Austin last weekend since I saw there was a newer collectible shop open in Austin, finally, and bought a blaster box of basketball and a hanger box of baseball for about $70 total. The hobby is enjoying a resurgence, but seems like a shit time to be getting back into it for the consumer. Panini runs basketball and football, and shit is severely overpriced. I remembered that old feeling of wasting money after opening the boxes. $70 worth of shit singles and inserts. The one that excited me was a Josh Primo (Spurs) rookie parallel that looks great, but might fetch $4 on Ebay. To top it off I paid $40 for a Donruss basketball blaster that sells for $25 on Target's website. The local guys were really cool and helpful and outgoing, but fuck man. 60% markup? And you're telling me how much you love your wholesaler and how much they hook you up while I'm there. And how you visit walmart weekly to make sure you're staying price competitive.....  That's on me though, I should've comp'd the prices before going in.

Most notable card thing to happen in the past month was finding my old Upper Deck Victory Tom Brady rookie card, that I'm pretty sure I bought at a Tri-Star show in Houston as a teenager (no way I had the guts to spend more than $10-15 to spend on a single card).... going for $300+ on ebay raw. Going to get that one graded though, it's selling for $500+ at a Mint 9. Mine seems to be in really good condition.

  2. Fine to see Lonnie go, thanks for your service. Keldon is a year younger and has already shown to have taken a step up, with starts by not relinquishing a starting 5 role, unlike Walker. Primo and Richardson obvs also make him expendable. Keep Richardson, he seems like a new add to the Spurs culture. I'm really excited about the 1st round picks too, 3 in the Top 25, and our highest top pick in years. Would absolutely not mind flipping a pick to get us into the Top 20 again.

I thought it was a fantastic episode and one meant to make a segment of the audience extremely uncomfortable. The ghost from the first episode made a repeat appearance.

Shit, I'm the dude in the kitchen who has no skin in the episode, but I was getting uncomfortable for the first 15 minutes, then it started getting kinda funny. By the halfway point I felt like I kinda understood more of the metaphor and who's point of view this was being written from. Chappelle had a similar premise but the POV wasn't as focused as where Atlanta put it.

  4. Didn't expect Aljo to out wrestle Yan that bad. If he can do that to the #1 contender then he deserves the belt. Colby wishes he could do that to a champ.

Khamzat got tested, what a great fight. Respect to Durinho. And if Kahmzat is showing that he's just about even on Burns' level, then he's not on Usman's level.

First of all-that person filming has war correspondent sized balls.  My hands are shaking just watching that.

Was this last night?  I don't recall final Sunday night of SXSW ever being that crowded, but I guess last night of Spring Break too?  You didn't see a lot of people with badges or wristbands on.

It was Saturday night, which has looked like that on Saturday night for as long as I can remember going to SXSW (about a decade). Aside from the people actually here for the festival, there's a bunch of hangers-on who just want to be in a crowd because they know there's people in Austin for a festival. I had a friend make the trip just for the night. Beats me as to why, we just saw music at Zilker Brewing and hopped a couple bars on Cesar Chavez. I knew that Dirty 6th was not the place to be on Saturday night of South By, I kinda figured there would be shots fired by the end of the night.

  6. The hell was the point in sitting Fagundez? He's the engine of this team and runs his ass off, it's not like he only has 40 good minutes in him. That's Cecilio.

And I'm actually ok with 1 point against Seattle. Let's get the full three when we're supposed to, like Saturday.

    Horrible matchup for him

It is, and he can't work inside, but he's had two good looks at the free-throw line, which he likes obviously because we ran the pick for him twice to get that shot. It's the same jumper he hit to help us beat TCU at home. He's gotta hit those if that's in his wheelhouse. If you're not big enough to get them inside, then you gotta hit that to bring them out a bit.

Stick a pin in Paul Jacobs. Best artist (and tight band) I've seen so far that I was unaware of previously.

SXSW pet peeve of mine? Making it hard to find out when/where a band is playing..... no social media presence at all for this dude. Schedule says here in Austin from the 16th-20th, so I'd assume shows today and tomorrow, but nothing to be found.

Otherwise, had a swing and a miss yesterday, went to see the local "En Orbito" who I've seen called a Psych-Cumbia group, but they played one song that might have been considered cumbia, and the rest was Psych jam-band with latin "grooves". Wouldn't see again. "Volcan" from San Antonio was much better at Hotel Vegas on Wednesday. night, the inside stage was packed and they looked extremely pleased and excited when they were granted an encore after the crowd hit them with the "otra otra otra".... Seeing them smile and then high-five each other after their set was probably my favorite memory so far. You can tell they appreciated it.

Going to try to see SirWoman at Zilker at 5 then see where the night takes it.

Offensively yes.  But he eats fouls when Bishop sits and occasionally gets a rebound.  And he gets under the skin of pussies.

The announcer that's been saying he gets you "at least a few extra possessions on offense every game" just through hustle..... He gave us 4 by my count in the first half yesterday (and IIRC his rebound gave Jones his first wide-open look that he missed). And boy did we need them with how cold we came out. Offensive rebounds, steals, forced errors, etc.

EOSE gets north of $4.40 and we should have a run to $6.

Thanks for the tip! I know you were waiting for it to get higher, but $4.20 was the perfect amount of high for me and I exited at a 19% gain after holding for 9 days. Easy money. Now to blow it on lone stars and tacos at SXSW.

  11. Big fish in a small pond. Well, normal fish, in a small shitty pond. Sorry we had two bigger stars on offense than yourself last year. Also, you weren't exactly entrenched as QB1. Maybe he's mad at that 9.95 money that Card got.

That’s at least three flops by bu without as much as a warning that I’ve seen

We've seen it for years. The other couch lights up a ref right in front of our home crowd and the refs zip their pussies up.
