There's just one thing about this game that bugs me.

That last Bama TD, we had 3 guys in position to make a tackle, and they ended up taking each other out.

I wondered about that play a bit, but on 3rd watch, I see the pretty egregious block in the back to spring him free for the endzone. That corner had broken down and was ready to stop him, and they just let the block in the back go. That same drive there was a pretty bad hold on the right tackle that they let go too (during a Milroe big completion). It was a shit drive to keep the game interesting.

EOSE closed at $3.25 and is currently up AH $1.93 to $5.18. That’s a 55% move.  The price is jumping around, but is staying north of $5.  I try not to get too excited with AH action because too often the pump or dump is in the rear view mirror when the market opens the next day.  Having said that, EOSE, RVPH, AMYZF, IBRX, UUUU, & GERN all have looming catalysts that can send the stocks higher.  As my broker would say, “I’m cautiously optimistic.”

Nothing like a kick in the dick to wake you up before market open. EOSE at 2.52 now.

  3. I like this guy. Haven't listened to much country since my dad's 90s cassette tapes in his Dodge pickup, but I've looked around a bit more int he past 5 years or so and run into Sturgill, Parker McCollum, and now Zach Bryan. I enjoy it, good songwriting and less nostalgia peddling.

The first few times I heard him it did strike me how much he sounded like Tyler Childers. I hear it less so now. Not sure I'd pay arena prices to go see him, but we'll see what rolls around in San Antonio.

That will be the “problem”, as can we contain Milroe running? Not really worried about the passing, as if he does, good on him, but I’d take my chances there!

    Hook’em!!!

Between Ford, Catalon, Barron, Thompson (and even Muhammad after seeing him last week), I'm not scared of a running QB this year. I think we are well equipped to handle it. These guys re not scared to tackle, and I think being aggressive in closing down lanes quick is most important to stopping a scrambler.

At his best, he’s one of those most accurate short to intermediate passers you’ll find. He uses multiple arm angles and has a quick release. He is terrible at throwing deep, and is now just trying to create 50/50 balls when guys have 5-7 yards of separation. His ability to stand in a pocket and make multiple reads looked highly suspect. Texas can have a good offense with him at QB, but the oline must figure it’s shit out. They must be able to move people in the run game. They actually seemed to do that yesterday better than trying to reach people.

This is why I don't get the first-round grades from so many, despite him not having cleaned up some very important parts of playing the QB position. The angles and release and all that is great, but that's not nearly important as being able to read a defense and get to the 2nd or 3rd read, pocket presence, timing, etc. Not to mention the deep ball, that's a huge red flag for an NFL QB.

And I feel like a lot of our fans are pushing him out the door to start the Arch train, but what if he doesn't get a first-round grade? Does he go higher than Caleb Williams (lol), Drake Maye? What about Penix from Wa. If he's looking at a 2nd or 3rd round grade why isn't he coming back next year?

  6. This shit made my blood boil. A slick-talking con artist isn't special, but I guess telling people what they want go hear is always a great bet (ask looch). It's just the worst that he did it to 18-20 year olds. What a POS.

But damn Quannah Chasinghorse is smoke. Makes me wish Mexico registered blood quantum as well!

Amen. I was really digging the 70s hippie look, but I'm sure she pulls off anything. Those glasses did her well.

I just went back to read the Rolling Stone review of this episode and catch up on who was who. I only caught Brownie (obvs the accent gave that away), but making the connections made this episode a lot better to me. It's definitely a show about the gang, but it's also a show about the Rez how it affects those within the boundaries. Putting the gang's situations into a deeper context and into perspective that their issues are very similar to those that came before them. I'm with it. Bear's experiences with the supernatural are kind of weird though. I'm not sure the point of having Bear face a "will he won't he turn into Maximus" situation.... but maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture.

  8. Picked up a bottle of Garrison Brothers and Mijenta tequila for about $90 earlier. Was the last bottle of mijenta. Went in looking for Lalo but I guess the word is out on it already, the guy in front of me asked about it and they said they'd already sold out. I got the last bottle of mijenta.

Been wanting to try Garrison for years, figured $57 was a decent price to try it while listening to the new Zach Bryan album tonight.

The University of Texas is known as one of the most arrogant schools in America and that is a rightfully earned reputation.

Back in 2019 when we were there for LSUs game against them we were enjoying a nice tailgate in a crowded area. We sort of meshed in with some Texas students/fans and were having a great time. After a while I asked them if they were coming to the game in Baton Rouge next year. They looked completely perplexed and I asked them why and they said they had no idea they’d have to come to Baton Rouge the following year. You could tell they were thinking this was similar to Rice coming to Texas, that it was an honor for us to be here or something. Never occurred to them LSU is it’s own proud institution that wouldn’t come to Texas without the expectation of a return trip.

We (the LSU fans) had a really good laugh about that after the game.

I'll take the bait. We come across as arrogant because the truth just sounds like that. A very large portion of our students don't really care or know about the tradition of Texas football. They take their admission because they're Top 6%-7% and know that UT is the most competitive and best academic public school in the state. And the fact that they come to UT renews the academic prestige each year. So it is what it is; I accept the tradeoff. If they were talking to a student then sure they might not have any idea what "home and home" means in NCAA football speak.

We have plenty of real Texas football fans too, he could've shown up to the Surly tailgate and seen a completely different type of fan and left with a completely different opinion on Texas fans. (softball toss to what that might be)

usually via attacking our interior OL through simulated pressures/games (our interior is the weak link).

*was. "Was" the weak link. And we can get further into semantics and I'd agree that this year they will be the weak link compared to our tackles, but, imo, O-line performance can be improved greatly by experience and time (to get stronger). Especially compared to D-line, where a young guy can get playing time by just being able to fuck shit up, O-linemen need to know wtf they're doing and need to be able to execute technically against guys that are oftentimes as big or bigger than them. Only experience and mass can improve that. Getting those two young guards (and even Majors) back could be a blessing this year. They'll be bigger, stronger, and smarter.

That was savage. Crawford took the 8th off knowing he could put him away at any time.

I felt like this fight was over somewhere in the 4th-5th round when it became clear that Bud was better than Spence on the inside too. Errol has a pretty rigid style and not many counter-attacks to work with (which was said by a few better boxing brains than me before the fight), and it made the difference. He tries to smother his opponents but Bud was hurting him with short shots on the inside too and Spence would have to reset and get space again. Crawford is a damn bully in the ring, his style just doesn't make him seem like it.

Great night. We got to witness greatness, wish the fight was better but damn it's hard not to be ecstatic over witnessing a coronation of an ATG.

  12. Excited for this Saturday. Spence vs. Crawford is the biggest fights in years, in a year full of great fights. Boxing has had a solid post-covid turn imo, and has me excited to be a boxing fan again for the first time in a decade or so. UFC kinda took my attention, and I'm still very excited about that card this Saturday, but my highlight of the night will be Bud and Errol showing off high-level boxing.

  13. I don't feel weird at all. This team was lost in the spring but has looked very capable in the Summer. Zardes has started to finish off some chances, Diego is healthy again, Finlay is in better form than Rigoni and is starting over him as he should be.... All those things were different in May

  14. Forgot I'd put a sell marker of 4.88 on EOSE and exited most of my position yesterday. Can't be too disappointed with a 175% profit (got in under $2), just wish I'd gotten in for the amounts I've put into UUUU and IBRX overall. Nice to actually make some money for a change though.

  15. Wemby's footwork looks better tonight. Actually had some semblance of a solid foundation for a jump shot. Friday night he was taking shots with a weird Bonner-esque parallel stance. Tonight his feet look set (right foot a bit forward, shoulders aligned). And the aggressiveness on the inside is noticeable, he's showing a bit of a mean streak. Wemby's footwork looks better tonight. Actually had some semblance of a solid foundation for a jump shot. Branham and Champenny having slow nights and we're down big because of that.

  16. Volk was impressive just like he was against Islam though. Such a damn honey badger in there. Vicious little fuck.

Du Plessis was impressive. I told my friends Whittaker was gassed after he went after a takedown and expended a lot of energy trying to ground and pound, he looked different once he got up. And the whole fight energy changed immediately after.

  17. I'm 100% biased towards Moreno, so take it with a grain of salt, but I hate that takedowns and "ground control" can win a fighter a round. Or two rounds in Pantojas case. It's a fight, not a "neutralize your opponent til the clock runs out" competition. He was getting tired of eating hands so he grabs some waist and hangs on for dear life. Can't really threaten a submission, so it's just grappling at that point. Now he's an Ultimate Fighting Champion and baddest man in the division........ I guess.

  18. I'd be fine with a 15 win improvement over last year. But I've had this sneaking suspicion that we tanked better than everyone else last year and blew more than a couple handfuls of games by design. Especially with the amount of injuries we had. Keldon missed 20 games last year, Devin missed almost 50. Sochan missed 25. If these guys play 70 games next year, hypothetically, and play more than 50-60 together as a core..... I'm just sayin. Don't be surprised if we win 45-50.

  19. Finished it last night, loved it. A+. Richie, Marcus, what great character development. Cool to see some big wins. Except for Marcus kicking ass all season and then shooting his shot (while he was full of confidence) and getting swatted. Rough spot.

The only gripe I have with the season came in the last episode, and it's Carmy's and Claire's story. Claire being there outside the walk-in as Carmy spills his guts out (out-loud obvs) kinda made me eyeroll. His tension building up around her all night when the healthy thing between them would've just been for her to say "damn, you're going to be extremely f'n busy tonight, don't worry about me" after he comes out to say hi. But then again if they were a healthy couple it wouldn't fit the show, so whatever. A+ overall.

I just went to see this movie. I have only seen one of his previous films (The Grand Budapest Hotel) so this one did not really resonate with me. Sometimes that happens, but I did like the cast and the three sisters were pretty cool. Scarlett Johansson was in my 2nd favorite movie so it was nice seeing her in this. I am sure if I read up more on Anderson’s style of movie-making I might better understand this movie.

This is almost my exact review. I enjoyed Grand Budapest Hotel, but saw Rushmore years ago and hardly remember it. I enjoyed watching Asteroid City, there are a handful of laughs, but I get annoyed without a narrative. I'm at a solid B. I also am not sure I "get" WA.

And I'm fine with a meandering story like Linklater does, or open-ended storylines even, but this one went right over my head like the alien's spaceship.
