Honestly I'm not going to pick on them for having that class. Sounds like a good one and let's not forget that Texas used to have a class called The History of Rock and roll

Used to? You can take History of Rock Music, Jazz, Western Music, etc. this fall. They all fulfill a VAPA requirement, which is mandated by the state's core curriculum, and most universities offer some sort of similar music appreciation courses. Don't hold that against UT, they're offering packed classes to students who need to get a VAPA credit in order to graduate (so, everybody).

  2. Been missing an energized Fagundez for a while, he made a huge difference. Driussi looked great. Rigoni is well past his expiration date and at this point is just getting paid to help Seba and Urruti prepare meats for the parrillada. If they keep playing this well I'm not even mad at it. (Seriously, he was offside, but the shot was piss-poor over the crossbar, then that 5-on-1 fast break and he can't even get a pass off because he has no f'n creativity to create space. All he had to do was kick the ball to a general area where 3 Austin FC players were waiting). I understand these guys are technically replaceable and/or improvable, but I always like the solid floor Finlay and Lima bring. They hustle more often than not and if you can live with Lima taking a bad shot once in a while (and he didn't last night), he brings value in getting the ball into dangerous spots in the box.

I'm a UT homer as much as anyone; I just don't let it blind me.  I've said several times that I myself scoffed at the idea until I saw it with my own eyes over a 10-year period of getting a closeup look.  You'll see soon enough.  We couldn't dominate the Big 12 and we're going to be middle of the road in the SEC unless there's a fundamental shift in how we recruit and play football.  12 team playoff will help us sneak in once in awhile, but under the current system, we wouldn't sniff a CFP playing in the SEC.

Are you? You said yourself you don't know what Sark's building here and you insinuate in your own comments you don't know about the recruiting he does and roster he's building, but you sound very confident that you know what you're talking about when you say we're going to get our shit kicked in. So, you don't really know the team or the roster,  but you're a staunch believer in "SEC FOOTBALL".....

    Ok, "UT homer".

  4. Just finished the season and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Solid character-driven sitcom and I was impressed with how all the uncles get their own scenes and episodes, sometimes even without Primo. The 2nd half of the season seemed to get a lot better and funnier. The swap meet scenario was hilarious, the career fair where he meets her dad. Good stuff.

  5. How bad must Urruti be in training? I swear they keep putting in balls to Zardes, who is trying to body up defenders, but he never comes down with the f'n ball. Urruti did that plenty fine last year...

Didn't Wolff just get a 3 year extension?

I don't know enough about soccer to comment on systems, aside from we've sucked at scoring this year.  Also I don't like that Wolff plays his son on the team...if you're going to play your son he better be God-like, and Wolff Jr ain't that.

It would be cool to see another coach come in and get the most out of his son though. I also don't know enough to feel comfortable commenting on soccer abilities, but I really enjoy watching Dani attack and dribble, and I feel like his next stop is going to allow him to be a creating midfielder rather than just..... facilitating the next pass back to the defenders.

    Prediction-

Mattson wins and he hires Greg to fire all the Roy’s and their staff and is the sole winner.

Greg gets his final scene like Ana De Armas in Knives Out. Coffee mug and all.

This isn’t a flame but you have like a 10 point swing with the judges.   That’s crazy

"I had it 9 rounds to 3 but I could see it being a draw." Facepalm. Also people taking issue with whether a decision was "unanimous" instead of contesting actual rounds is when they out themselves.

I thought it was a really good fight, and expected a draw tbh, was really close and didn't like how Loma gave away the last round. Haney turned it up and Loma trird to dance around. Im sure he was exhausted but that was the nail in the coffin.

  9. They definitely worked hard last night, seemed to have some fire on em. Finally took advantage of a couple slim chances and cashed in. Let's get another Saturday!

  10. Good half at the attacking end. Lunkfist (sp, obvs) is looking dangerous out there.

OH, and Rodney did something! I saw it! With my own eyes!

Just think about the people with a cost basis of $20+, not that anyone here bought at those levels

You know how long it took me to average down from $24 to $10?

Not as long as it'd seem because I only invest in hundreds, not thousands (for now), but damn I had to chip away at that for a good minute.

  12. Just got back from my 3rd trip to CDMX, still appreciate the place a whole lot. Had the pleasure of taking my dad on his bucket list item of seeing a game at Estadio Azteca (got his preferred Club America too). Finally got to visit Coyoacan for an afternoon; definitely could've used a few more hours however. That place was so tranquil I wanted to sit and have a cafe and people watch for a couple hours. Last year I was able to do a day trip to Cholula and I got the same vibe, just cooler to see Coyoacan just a bit away from the craziness in the city. Had a prime rib molcajete at La Coyoacana that blew our tops.

Best part was hearing my pops say the exact same thing I said after my first trip. "I don't know what I expected but I never expected Mexico City to be so cool and modern." Growing up Tejano, media and border towns and tourist trap areas do a number to how you view a country without really exploring it.  I

  13. Ive been pretty excited to follow this team since the started, been to a couple handful of games, joined Los Verdes the first couple seasons (I'll leave out my opinions for their weird selves in case any are here), but man this year is already breaking me as a fan. If they don't play with heart, why would I give my heart (and also money, probably most importantly)

    Hard to say.

I actually think this can be a pretty tough fight for Tank if Garcia stays disciplined.  Garcia has the height and the reach.  Tank likes to take his time, doesn't mind dropping rounds, all to wait for that one hitter quitter.  Tank also leaves himself open to get hit.  Garcia's left hook is no fucking joke.  Viper quick and puts dudes down.

Garcia's best shot is to stay disciplined, win rounds early by jabbing like a madman, and staying at range.  Don't get into any brawls.  Then, maybe, Tank gets a little desperate later in the fight to find the KO.  If he just spams that left hook and leaves his chin hanging out there like he did against Campbell, it'll be an early night.

I'll say Tank by KO in the 8th, but honestly, who the fuck knows.  Two big time hitters who ain't gonna be playing for a decision.  One mistake either way and it'll be over.

I agree with all of that, but my gut just tells me this is the most likely outcome. I am satisfied with Boxing this year for putting this together, Haney vs. Lomachenko,  and hopefully putting together Crawford/Spence.

  15. What round we got Tank finishing this fight in?

I'm an unabashed Mexican fight fan, and as a Mexican-American, been waiting for the next Golden Boy to come through for a while now, but I'm not convinced Ryan is that guy. Watching the Showtime All-Access and I just feel more and more like Ryan is a big kid looking up to the lights hoping to be part of the show. Tank laughs at the guys he's knocked out, he has that instinct about him. Ryan gives me "If I try my hardest and do my best I just know I can do it" vibes.

  16. This was year 4 of not making the playoffs. 5 years ago we lost in the first round with a team led by DeMar DeRozan and a 33 year old LaMarcus Aldridge. I think Pop did fine with what the GM gave him to work with that year.

4 years without playoffs is about right for the talent we have. We got stuck for a few years in no-man's land, with mid-to-low 1st-round picks and no real star to build around. This year the franchise was 100% in on the tank from top to bottom. So really Pop can (possibly) be put to blame for 3 years of playoff-less basketball....... but if you want to make the argument that he's at fault for the performance of this young team without A-level talent, go for it. But be sure to name someone who can take a team without a Giannis, Tatum/Brown, Ja Morant, Jokic, Embiid/Harden, Booker/Durant, etc. to a Top 4 seed. Only the Kings have come close, but they also have 3 top-10 picks on their roster. We need that type of talent first.

TLDR: Pop don't need to go anywhere. Blaming him is silly.
