  1. Blame CU and NU for leaving. Then blame Mizzou and aggy for leaving.
  2. https://news.utexas.edu/2021/07/26/joint-statement-from-the-university-of-texas-at-austin-and-the-university-of-oklahoma/ for those that like the source but prolly already posted in the 5 million pages before
  3. Once I realized how angry Texas to the SEC made aggy, I switched to strongly in favor of Texas joining the SEC.
  4. I could handle the Big 12 pod (UT, OU, Mizzou, aggy) but would prefer the SWC pod (UT, OU, Arky, aggy). See OU 1915 - 1919 for that one. They were a SWC founding member!
  5. There won't be a Big 12 commissioner once this settles. The ACC and Big 10 aren't staying at 14 teams if the SEC is at 16.
  6. Nobody which is their problem! Bowlsby ought to be begging the SEC to take more than two teams.
  7. Let's not kid ourselves. When the SEC added aggy 10 years ago it was because they wanted UT. it's now paying off for the conference.
  8. So TTU to the Pac 12 by themselves, huh?
  9. Quite solvable https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecs/story/2020-07-04/san-diego-state-sdsu-aztecs-idaho-california-travel-ban-ab-1887-transgender-law-discrimination
  10. Since the SEC is ending up with more power than the NCAA, everyone should try to join the SEC. Bowlsby ought to be in Birmingham begging the SEC to 'merge' with the Big 12 with Sankey as commissioner and Bowlsby as the newly created vice commissioner. 'Merge' obviously only being a face saving term while Bowlsby tries to get as many Big 12 teams in the SEC as possible. Propose take 8 of the 10 teams. Leave out WVU who never belonged and BU as, well, no explanation needed. Make the SEC East 11 teams - the 10 current founding SEC members plus South Carolina. Make the SEC West the 8 newly added Big 12 teams plus the two former Big 12 teams plus Arkansas. Each division plays a 10 game round robin. The division winners battle it out in the SEC Championship Game, which is guaranteed not to be a rematch. Hell, call it the Sugar Bowl and move it to New Orleans after the SEC buys out the Sugar Bowl Committee with all its cash. Watch the SEC champion get all the AP and Coaches votes so that the little Pac 12, Big 10, and ACC ask to merge. Next step, SEC is the NCAA replacement, and it's barely into the 2030s.
  11. ISU has been an AAU member since the 50s. That's very much playing school.
  12. Winning is so Big 12. Making money is $EC. Case closed.
  13. I figure y'all are all busy reading the realignment thread but knew you'd want an update. Didn't work. Had to pay full price for my burger. Thanks for nothing, Deon. Oops, I mean Coach Prime.
  14. If it's happening, I'd prefer more Big 12 teams going. Take 6 teams to make it a 20 team conference or all 10 to make it a 24 team conference.
  15. If it's 8 team division and they're both in the West...
  16. Why would OU want to trade winning the Big 12 nearly every season with losing the division to Alabama nearly every season?
  17. "because Jesus had informed him that was all he needed to pay." Hmm, I had not thought of trying that one. I mean, Jesus has yet to tell me such a fact. BRB - trying it at P. Terry's.
  18. n64ra not a fan of Baker Mayfield. But I actually appreciate the horns down. Teams like BU, OU, and TTU do it when they play ... each other. Reminds me how pathetic each team is and how the Horns own them both on the field and in their minds - and those teams couldn't care less about their opponent that day. Then when teams do it while playing Texas, I trust it pisses off our players to motive them to play better during the game. Win-win in my mind.
  19. Did the judge not watch this? How'd he go to no bail required?
  20. Google tells me the average divorce takes 11 months (and 18 months if it goes to trial) so they'll hit that anniversary yet !
  21. Now that legal payments have been going for a week, why is the NCAA still alive?
  22. Never expanding again? The MLB commissioner already mentioned six sites and no way the NBA stays at 30 if the NFL and MLB are at 32. True Rob Manfred didn't mention Austin or SA for MLB, but the NHL would be silly to perpetually pass over Houston for a relocation. Then there's that number - 32. We're in the midst of the longest stretch without NFL expansion (going to hit 20 years in 2022). Who say's the NFL can't host 33 or 34 teams or up to 40 teams in the next half decade? That makes SA an option.
  23. In 2005, the BCS was awesome. In 2008, the BCS sucked. That is all.
  24. So can the school opt-out and the players opt-in? For example - Could end up with Jack Coan in the game starting for the University of South Bend?
